Rainy weather makes everyone hungry—it’s the perfect time for something warm and comforting! This bowl of fresh rice noodles with fish broth costs 5,000 riel (US$1.25)—a delicious and healthy snack. Look at that. Every noodle vendor has a crowd—some waiting, others already enjoying their bowls of soup. This young and cheerful girl has many hungry customers to feed with her warm, delicious noodle soup—served with fish broth or chicken curry. It feels like a Cambodian noodle soup festival—noodle stalls line the riverside one after another, creating a vibrant scene. But this scene happens only on Saturdays and Sundays each week, at the walking street that was launched about three months ago. This bowl of noodles with aromatic chicken curry soup costs only 5,000 riel (US$1.25). This is a longtime noodle soup vendor from Tboung Khmum, a newly formed province that was once part of Kampong Cham. She always has many customers enjoying her irresistibly delicious noodle soup. Due to its popularity, she expanded the business to two locations—one managed by her sister, and this one by herself.
