@jhamil_bader here with another image for my takeover! This image encapsulates two of the most valuable techniques I’ve learned in photography. The first is to always change my perspective in order to create a sense of grandeur and create narrative within an image. The second is to push myself to capture unusual beauty in nature and always be aware of possible photo moments that occur in the least expected places. This photo was taken near the beginning of a hike to a waterfall in Central Oregon and ended up becoming one of my favorite images I captured this year. The contrast of the burned forest against the bright fireweed creates a magical scene that is completely unique. The incorporation of human elements brings both scale and narrative to the scene, and makes the photo come to life!
