📍Aogashima Island

Aogashima is a small volcanic island located in the Izu Archipelago, about 360 kilometers south of Tokyo, Japan with a population of around 170-200 people, it is one of Japan’s most remote and least populated islands. The island is known for its unique double caldera structure, which gives it a dramatic and mysterious appearance.

Aogashima is often considered a hidden gem for adventurers due to its rugged terrain, geothermal springs, and scenic beauty.
Despite its volcanic history, the island’s residents have lived there for centuries, enjoying a peaceful and self-sufficient lifestyle.

  1. This video has a cinematic treatment and I would like to recommend Ronaq to consider creating a film using the video shoots from his Japan tour. He can choose any incident from the available footage and use it as the opening of the film, without following the sequence of the tour. As someone who has watched every episode of this tour and is also from the same institution, where Ronaq learned film writing 20 years ago, I have already imagined a potential visual composition from his videos that could make a great film or even a short film about Japan. The experiences on the tour, encounters with people, technological developments in Japan, stunning nature, and cultural heritage all have the potential to be included in this project. I strongly urge Ronaq to take on this project as it will not only be an exciting experiment but also provide valuable lessons for future filmmaking endeavors. Best wishes and regards.
