Documentation of our visit to the Mentai Park Tokoname in Aichi Prefecture.
Mentai refers to salmon roe, which is a type of fish egg commonly used in Japanese cuisine. It is often served as a topping for sushi and other dishes.
Mentai Park Tokoname is located near the Chubu Centrair International Airport. The building can be spotted very easily because a giant mentai character (Tarapiyo) is built on the roof.
Mentai Park Tokoname offers a tour of the mentaiko factory, a small museum, cafeteria, and shops for fresh mentaiko products.
There is no entrance fee and the Mentai Park Tokoname is open almost every day. It is a fun place to visit, shop, and eat, and learn about the production of mentai products. Take a look next time if you are near the area!
