【4K Stroll】Fukiya Furusato Village – Okayama – Japan / Unique Red Village, Where Copper Was Mined
✋Hello! Today we will take a walk through a charming historical village where copper was once mined. Today we can walk among buildings that have a unique color and atmosphere.
Fukiya Furusato Village is a remote rural area of Takahashi City and once thrived on copper mining and was famous as a major producer of the bright red pigment “Bengara”, made from oxidized iron. The village is known for the uniform red color of its buildings, a color rarely produced even in Japan. The site has a picturesque preserved town and has gained recognition as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings. The red pigment can still be seen in the town and it’s used for decoration and to protect wood from rain and fire.
May happiness be with this place.
