Japan – Walking around Haneda Shrine and the ancient Mount Fuji in Tokyo, 4K
I went to Haneda Shrine in Ota Ward, Tokyo, Japan. Please enjoy it as a virtual walk. Why not take a tour before going to Haneda Airport? This shrine is also known as the guardian deity of Haneda Airport, and is revered by many people for its blessings of aviation safety and healing. Additionally, there is a Fuji mound known as “Haneda Fuji,” which is a remnant of the Fuji-ko ceremony of the Edo period, and its historical value is protected as a cultural property of Ota City.
Haneda Shrine was founded in the Kamakura period, and historically it was worshiped by samurai families such as the Tokugawa family, Shimazu family, and Todo family. In particular, there is an anecdote that during the outbreak of smallpox in 1861, Tokugawa Iesada prayed for recovery from his illness and was cured as a result. For this reason, even today, it is a place where many worshipers come to pray for recovery from illness. Additionally, within the grounds of Haneda Shrine is Fujizuka, which was built in the early Meiji period and was worshiped by people at the time as a substitute when they were unable to climb Mt. Fuji. This shrine is not just a tourist attraction, but a place of deep history and faith.
