京都笠置・奈良柳生周遊ハイキング【とある会社の歩こー会】＃75　2024.7　Kyoto Kasagi/Nara Yagyu Circular hiking

今回は京都相楽郡笠置町にある、笠置寺（笠置山）を中心に周りを一周するハイキングをしてきました。途中で奈良県にも入ります。
ＪＲ笠置駅から直ぐの笠置山に登り、笠置寺の修行場へ行きました。
その入り口で可愛い茶トラの猫に会いました。単なる人懐っこい猫かなと思ったら、笠置山山頂まで同行してくれて、じゃれ遊びしながら私たちを案内してくれました。
笠置には「笠やん」というＰＲキャラクターの猫が存在します。
そのキャラクターの誕生は、1990年代に実在した観光客を案内する猫がモデルになっています。
その猫は勿論、今は居ませんが、私たちを迎えてくれた猫は、正に「笠やん」そのもので、入口から山頂までずっと一緒に修行場を回ってくれました。
猫の名前が判らないので、入口看板の「笠やん」の笠に書かれた「かさぎ」を仮の名前で呼びました。
かさぎとの別れは名残惜しかったのですが、山頂に着くなり、自分の仕事は終わったと寝てしまいました。
笠置山を後にした後は、柳生まで歩き、布目川沿いのコースで笠置駅まで戻って来ました。

This time, we went on a hike around Kasagi-dera Temple (Kasagiyama) in Kasagi-cho, Soraku-gun, Kyoto. We also entered Nara prefecture on the way.
We climbed Mt. Kasagi, which is located right next to JR Kasagi Station, and went to the training grounds of Kasagidera Temple.
At the entrance, we met a cute brown tabby cat. We thought it was just a friendly cat, but it accompanied us to the top of Mt. Kasagi and guided us around while playing with it.
Kasagi has a promotional mascot cat called “Kasayan.”
The character was modeled after a real cat that guided tourists in the 1990s.
Of course, that cat is no longer there, but the cat that welcomed us was the very image of “Kasa-yan” and accompanied us all the way around the training grounds, from the entrance to the top of the mountain.
Since we didn’t know the cat’s name, we gave it a temporary name, “Kasagi,” which was written on the hat of the “Kasa-yan” sign at the entrance.
We were sad to say goodbye to “kasagi,” but as soon as we reached the summit, we went to sleep knowing our work was done.
After leaving Mt. Kasagi behind, we walked to Yagyu and returned to Kasagi Station along the Nunome River.
