[4k]Osaka Walking Tour / Tenjin Matsuri, One of Japan’s Three Greatest Summer Festivals

The Tenjin Festival, held annually in Osaka in July, is one of Japan’s three major summer festivals.
Its history spans over 1,000 years, dating back to the Heian period. The festival honors Sugawara no Michizane, the guardian deity of Tenmangu Shrine, and began as a prayer for the dispelling of plagues and for abundant harvests.
Stalls line the streets from Tenjinbashi Shopping Street to the Okawa River, offering a variety of local delicacies and entertainment for visitors.
Additionally, the dragon dance performed at Osaka Tenmangu Shrine captivates audiences with its power and beauty.
This festival is a blend of traditional culture and modern entertainment, attracting numerous tourists from both Japan and abroad.
