大國魂神社 すもも祭り 20240720〖4K〗

今回は、東京都府中市にある大國魂神社にすもも祭りを見に行ってきました。
大國魂神社のすもも祭りは毎年7月20日に行われ、夏の風物詩となっていてます。今回、午前8時過ぎから9時半まで約1時間半滞在しましたが、30度を超える猛暑の中大勢の参拝者が訪れていました。
《大國魂神社のすもも祭の起源》
平安時代の“前九年の役”の際に、源頼義・義家親子が、戦勝祈願を大國魂神社で行い、お礼詣りの神饌（しんせん）のひとつがすももとあったことによります。すももには古来より悪鬼を払う果物とされていました。これにより境内にはすもも市が立つようになったのが、この祭りの由来だそうです。＜府中観光協会HPより＞

This time, I went to see the Plum Festival at Okunitama Shrine in Fuchu, Tokyo.
The Plum Festival at Okunitama Shrine is held every year on July 20th, and is a seasonal feature of summer. This time, I stayed there for about an hour and a half, from just after 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., and many worshippers came despite the scorching heat of over 30 degrees.

During the “Zenkunen no Eki” (the Battle of Zenkunen), father and son Minamoto no Yoriyoshi and Yoshiie prayed for victory at Okunitama Shrine, and one of the offerings they made in thanks was plums. Plums have been considered a fruit that wards off evil spirits since ancient times.
