HOW TO SPEND A DAY IN TOKYO | robots, mini worlds, popular landmarks & unique museums 🇯🇵
Tokyo Japan’s capital and also one of the most populous urban areas in the world the greater Tokyo area which includes the city and its surrounding prefectures is the largest metropolitan area in the world with a population of over 37 million people there are so many unique areas to visit in Tokyo and on this trip to Japan I was determined to check off a long list of places I’ve been wanting to visit both in the heart of the bustling City and also in the slower paced outskirts this video is one of many Tokyo travel guides and Vlogs available on my channel and there’s even more to come I’ll leave a link to my Tokyo video playlist in the description below so you can get more ideas of places to visit on your next trip to Tokyo today we are heading out to a man-made Island in Tokyo bay that’s known as a futuristic Hightech entertainment and Museum Hub Oda [Music] hey guys so today we are in Oda city is sprinkling a little bit so I have my umbrella today is a perfect day because in Oda there’s a bunch of museums that I want to check out and there’s some really great spots where you can take photos did you know that there’s a Statue of Liberty in Tokyo the odiba Statue of Liberty is a much smaller replica of the original one in New York standing at about 11 M tall versus the original which stands at 93 m it was originally installed temporarily in 1998 to commemorate the French year in Japan event which celebrated strong cultural and historical ties between the two countries the statue was reinstalled permanently in 2000 due to its popularity today it still stands as a wellbeloved landmark in Tokyo by both tourists and locals due to its charm and surrounding [Music] views behind the statue you get a stunning view of the the bay and the iconic Rainbow Bridge the Rainbow Bridge supports a range of Transportation modes and connects Tokyo Mainland to the odba area it’s a popular site especially at night when the bridge lights up using the solar energy stored during the day after taking in the view of the bay we head Inland toward the diverse City Tokyo Plaza to see the life-size Gundam pay attention on the walk over because there’s lots to see in the odiba area everything from the Fuji TV building headquarters to one of Japan’s Nationwide stations to Aqua City OA and more the life-size Gundam statue is hard to miss standing at 19.7 M or 64.6 ft tall the original Gundam statue was installed in 2009 at another Park in Oda to to celebrate one of Japan’s most beloved anime franchises 30th anniversary however this new rx0 unicorn Gundam statue replaced it in 2017 this newer version has movable parts of the suit that open up and also a lighting system that allows it to shift between two modes the transformation sequence happens multiple times daily merch from the franchise is also available for purchase inside divers City Tokyo Plaza if you’d like a souvenir from your visit like most places in Japan divver City Tokyo Plaza does not open until 10:00 a.m. luckily the Starbucks nearby was open to grab a bite to eat I only came to the area early because I wanted cleaner photos from my website and this video however I don’t necessarily think you need to come super early to grab a great pick of these landmarks unless you come on the weekend because then you’re competing with both tourists and locals [Music] if I were to do today over I would actually recommend heading over to the next Museum first since it is located a few train stops away small worlds Tokyo was such a surprise it’s a unique indoor museum filled with miniature worlds created with Incredible detail [Music] it was so impressive to see the attention to detail and I was not expecting the exhibits to be as built out as they were her [Music] the exhibits were interactive with buttons you could push to make the little figurines move and perform different activities there are lots of places to sit and relax plus there’s even an option to create a miniature figurine of yourself which would then be placed in one of the miniature [Music] worlds I could spend hours in there just taking in the the amazing craftsmanship I highly recommend this Museum it’d be an exceptionally great option for your itinerary if the weather is too hot rainy or cold outside [Music] [Music] w [Music] after the miniature Museum we head back to odba and had Shabu Shabu at Aqua City oh [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] like I said previously I’d recommend visiting the miniature Museum first and then coming back to this main odiva area where the divver city plaza is located because it’s near lots of other surrounding museums and Bay [Music] [Music] views one of the nearby museums is the me icon or the national museum of emerging science and [Music] Innovation the thought-provoking museum focuses on our relationship with the universe and helps us understand what’s happening in the world from a scientific perspective the museum is very interactive and engaging it takes about 2 hours to go through the meat icon a highlight for me was the create your future exhibition on the third floor which encourages us to imagine what our future Society will look like with potential scientific and technological advancements within the exhibition are a couple of sections focused on showcasing Japan’s advancements in robotics and potential future uses of robots in everyday life it featured many opportunities to interact with robots of all [Music] kinds there was also a section all about aging which had simulations to help us understand what happens to our bodies due to aging it also showcased some potential support technologies that may become readily available in the future these were just a few of the many in-depth exhibitions available to explore at the me icon [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] you can spend an entire morning or afternoon roaming around the odiba area thanks to the abundance of museums theme parks shopping malls and landmarks [Music] in the next video we’re going to take a quick trip just outside of Tokyo to learn more about Japan’s history and visit a colorful tulip field and a samurai bamboo forest until next [Music] time oh

You were fortunate to be able to get a video recording from sitting on the front seat of the train going from Diaba to mainland. It was generally occupied whenever we were there.
