Hiroshima and Nagasaki Today Atomic Bomb Site • Travel Vlog • 広島市 • 長崎• [Day 9 Japan Trip 2024]

Hello everyone, welcome to our channel. Today is day 9 of our 15-day Japan Spring trip. Right now, we are walking to the Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Dome, which is the historic remains of the atomic blast. Later in the afternoon, we already have a reserved ticket train to Nagasaki, which is another historic sites of the atomic blast. So please keep watching. This is the remains of the Industrial Promotion Hall which was destroyed by the atomic bomb during WWII. You can read the explanation on this screen. The picture is so eerie. I cannot imagine how it feels like in the aftermath of the bombing. It seems, there are some drinks from the people to pay respects. Okay, it is time to take some pictures in this area. We are back at the Hiroshima station and we will be having lunch before we depart our train to Nagasaki. This looks like a good meal. It will take about 2 and half hours by shinkansen train to get to Nagasaki from Hiroshima. It will take three separate trains to get there. This is our first train. This train is called Tokaido Sanyo Shinkansen, we will change train at Shin Tosu Station. This train is so fast but we can still enjoy the view of the country and cherry blossoms. We already at the second train, which is called Relay Kamome 787. This is a limited express train bound for Takeo Onsen Station. There, we will change to another train. Let’s go see this train. We already on the third train, which called Nishi Kyushu Shinkansen Kamome. This is the newest shinkansen train in Japan since 23 September 2022. This is should be the nicest shinkansen right now. Let’s see how it looks like. There is a luggage rack there. The ambience is very nice, everything still feels very new. There is a big modern toilet in this train. This is the higher-class car. We love the wood accent on the chair. It is 4 PM right now and we already arrived at Nagasaki Station. We love that this station is so clean and have a red brick wall here and there. Also, there are not much people today. We found another eki stamp which we collected; we must get it. It is one of the nicest stations in Kyushu. Look, there is a person who plays piano. Over there, there are many souvenir shops where you can buy unique souvenir in this area. This is the front area of the station exit. There are houses on the hill, that is so interesting. This building on the right is a new shopping center. Last year, they are still renovating this area. We are planning to take a taxi to our hotel since we bring large luggage with us. We got a big taxi, but still our two luggage are not fit in the trunk. One must be put on the passenger seat. We stay at Hotel Forza Nagasaki, lets see what’s inside the room. This room is spacious, clean and it also has a massage device. This hotel also located in a good location on a shopping street. We are excited to try this at night. We already put our luggage inside the room, now we are walking to the Peace Park Nagasaki. This park is a place that commemorates the atomic bombing of Nagasaki. This is a peaceful place to walk around and learn some history. People leave drinks as offering, the same thing as in Hiroshima. This is the iconic statue of the peace park. Just next to the park, there is also a place that marks the epicenter of the explosion. Okay, it’s getting late. Let’s find some dinner. I believe there is a good restaurant, near here. This place offers Champon and Sara Udon, which is a unique menu available in Nagasaki. This is a recommended food when you visit this city. It is a stew pork bone soup with ramen noodles and deep fried noodles with thick soup. It is time to go back to hotel, we will be using this cool retro tram train. Time to rest. It has been a long day since this morning in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. See you on the next trip. Thanks for watching, please subscribe, like and comment.

Welcome to our channel! Today marks day 9 of our enchanting 15-day spring journey through Japan. We’re currently heading to the historic Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Dome, a poignant reminder of the atomic blast during WWII. This afternoon, we’ll catch a reserved train to Nagasaki, another city marked by the atomic bomb’s history.

At the Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Dome, we pause to absorb the somber atmosphere and read the information provided. The site, once the Industrial Promotion Hall, now stands as a haunting testament to the past. After capturing some photos, we return to Hiroshima Station for lunch before our departure.

Our journey to Nagasaki spans three trains. We start with the Tokaido Sanyo Shinkansen, enjoying the scenic views of the countryside and cherry blossoms. We transfer to the Relay Kamome 787, a limited express train, and finally board the Nishi Kyushu Shinkansen Kamome, the newest shinkansen in Japan since September 2022. The modern amenities and elegant wood accents make for a comfortable ride.

Arriving at Nagasaki Station by 4 PM, we admire its cleanliness, red brick walls, and the serene atmosphere. After collecting an eki stamp and exploring souvenir shops, we take a taxi to Hotel Forza Nagasaki. The spacious, well-appointed room even includes a massage device, and the hotel’s prime location on a bustling shopping street promises an exciting evening.

We head to the Peace Park Nagasaki, a tranquil space honoring the atomic bombing victims. Here, we see the iconic peace statue and the explosion’s epicenter, where offerings of drinks echo the gestures in Hiroshima.

As night falls, we seek out a recommended local dish, Champon and Sara Udon, at a nearby restaurant. This hearty stew with ramen and fried noodles is a must-try.
