今回は台東区千束の吉原の遊郭街からスタートし、あしたのジョー像を通って日本堤の山谷地区へ。
山谷は、台東区の北東部、清川・日本堤・東浅草一帯の通称ですが、今回は日本堤を中心に歩いています。
吉原の遊郭街からスタートし、あしたのジョー像を通って山谷地区周辺へ。
山谷はかつて「東京のスラム街」と呼ばれ、治安の悪い街として有名でしたが、現在では当時の名残を残しつつも街は落ち着いた様子で、街歩きを楽しみに訪れる人もいるようです。
最後は山谷から吉原に戻って終わります。

This time we will start from the Yoshiwara brothel district in Senzoku, Taito-ku, and walk past the Ashita no Joe statue to the Yamatani district of Nihonzutsumi.
Yamaya is the common name for the area of Kiyokawa, Nihonzutsumi, and Higashi Asakusa in the northeastern part of Taito Ward, but this time we are walking mainly in the Nihonzutsumi area.
Starting from the Yoshiwara brothel district, we passed by the Ashita no Joe statue and entered the Yamaya area.
Yamaya was once known as “Tokyo’s slum district” and famous for its unsafe neighborhoods, but today the town seems to have calmed down while still retaining the vestiges of those days, and some visitors seem to enjoy walking around the streets.
The tour ends with a return from Yamaya to Yoshiwara.
