【全米桜祭り】アメリカのワシントンD.C.でお花見!桜が桁違いの規模だった!意外と知らない100年以上続く日米交流の過去🌸
Hello everyone, this is Tomoka. I am currently attending the National Cherry Blossom Festival, a major event held once a year in Washington, DC. Actually, the area where these cherry blossoms are blooming is so large that it’s really difficult to see them all in a limited amount of time, so this time I would like to go around this area once and show you the best spots. I think it would be nice to just tell people how beautiful the cherry blossoms are, but I think that would be boring and useless, so I would like to create a cherry blossom map that will be useful for people who want to go see the cherry blossoms someday. I came to see it, but honestly I don’t think I know where is the correct way to watch it, and I don’t think it would be a waste to regret it later when I get home and think I should have watched it from here, so I would like to avoid such regrets. I would like to show you the best spots for cherry blossom viewing. At the end of the video, I would also like to introduce the map, so please watch until the end. I’d like you to introduce your best spots in the comments section , so let’s start the video.I took a plane from Japan for hours to get here, and I wanted to take a shot from here. I’m sure there are times when you’ll think about it, so I’d like to share with you a lot of ideas about what shots look like from here, and I’d like to show you photo spots that you won’t regret later. It’s really beautiful just walking around and looking at the cherry blossoms. In 1912, 3,000 cherry trees were sent from Japan to Washington, D.C., in the United States, and the gift included not only Somei Yoshino cherry trees, but also about 30 different types of cherry trees. So now that we can see these cherry blossoms, it’s amazing that they have a history of over 100 years. Personally, I think the view from here is amazing, and you can see the whole thing, but you can see the Thomas Jefferson Memorial on the right, the Memorial Tower, the symbol of Washington DC , and this lake on this side? The cherry blossoms are in full bloom surrounding the river. Many people come to see the cherry blossoms. There is only one small tree in this place. It’s a cherry blossom tree, and everyone is taking pictures in front of it. This is the front of the Thomas Jefferson Memorial. Cherry blossoms are blooming on both sides, or rather here. There is a memorial in front of it. Cherry blossoms are really blooming all over this area. A lot of people are sitting there. With the Thomas Jefferson Memorial on your left, walk towards the Washington Monument. This place is close to the cherry blossoms and the river, so it might be a great photo spot. ah I see. You can see Washington Memorial like this from here. I would like to add this spot to my checklist as a recommended spot. This river is a spot where you can take pictures of people and cherry blossoms together. And the Washington Monument right behind it? I think it’s a really good photo spot because it’s home to the Washington Memorial, and the sunlight makes it look completely different. So beautiful. And although the wind isn’t that strong, it feels like the petals are starting to flutter a little. There is also a map of the surrounding area like this. I crossed over to the Washington Memorial to see the view from the top of the bridge . So you can see the Thomas Jefferson Memorial on the other side. The cherry blossoms here are also very beautiful. There is a proper fence here, so you don’t have to worry about falling. When you look at a website and don’t know where to start to take a photo, it’s difficult unless you actually walk around. Where should I take photos? There is a boarding area next to the Washington Monument. The wind is getting stronger. I feel like the tree trunk is a little low here. So beautiful. After all, the closer you are to the cherry blossoms, the more beautiful it looks. If you want to take a boat ride, the rental price is $38 on weekdays and $40 on weekends, and the rental price is by the hour. One hour in Japan would cost around 6,000 yen. It’s expensive. But, is that the same feeling as that boat in Chiyoda Ward? However, it’s very expensive. How much would that cost? Is this a rental bike? There are also scooters. When I come here, I feel like there are fewer people, but as I walk like this, I walk by the Tidal Basin, and the cherry blossoms are already blooming all around me. Parking is free around here. I think it was very crowded on weekends. This is right in front of the Thomas Jefferson Memorial. I came to this side. There’s a parking lot and a lawn on this side, and the Washington Memorial is on the back side, so it’s a bit more open, more like a park. This place also has an amazing Japanese atmosphere, like a park with lawns and cherry blossoms. Some people are having picnics like this. The history of why this cherry tree was planted in Washington DC is actually written here, but it has completely disappeared. Only the year is left here, but in 1910, the mayor of Tokyo gifted Washington City with perhaps 3,000 cherry blossom trees, and this is how Japan and the United States celebrated the friendship between Japan and the United States. As a celebration, there are many cherry blossoms planted here. So, the Japanese name is written here, like Yukio Ozaki. This cherry tree has been around forever. You can take great photos no matter where you go, but the way you see them will look completely different depending on where you take them. Most of the cherry blossom trees are white, but there are some pink ones here and there. This cute area is a parking lot, but there are quite a few places where you can park your car. And the cherry blossom trees on the left and right are all cherry blossoms. If you really keep walking like this, you’ll go around once. If you walk from the area directly in front of here, go to Thomas Jefferson on the right, come all the way around this time, and go to the right here, you will go around once, but it looks like it will take a long time. After all, you can take better photos if you are closer to the monument. I have a very large dog. Amazing Keeping the Cherry Tree Healthy. I found a sign about how they keep these cherry blossom trees healthy. So beautiful. Everyone is sitting here and enjoying the cherry blossoms. It’s in the shade here, and everyone seems to be basking in the sun. The scenery from here is really beautiful. I see Thomas Jefferson. The view from here is also very beautiful. You can take great pictures here with a wide angle. This spot has also been checked in my personal recommended spots checkbox. So beautiful. It’s my personal favorite. I’m on the bridge right now, and I can see a view like this from the top of the bridge. Is this the farthest place? From Thomas Jefferson’s place. On the other hand, the Washington Monument is extremely close, and you can take photos of the cherry blossoms and the monument together. After crossing the bridge, I came to this side. The atmosphere is completely different depending on the location. Moreover, I found some Japanese-looking stones here. Maybe there’s something written about Japan here? It says "The First Japanese Cherry Tree" which feels very Japanese . I wonder if this is where the first cherry blossom trees sent from Japan were planted? It is written in "English" because it aims to improve the relationship between Japan and the United States. March 27, 1912. It says where the tree was first planted, but where is the tree? I think I remember hearing that they pulled it out by mistake, but I guess that’s what it means to have this stone here. This spot is one of my personally recommended photo spots. It’s a very popular spot, and for some reason there are a lot of people taking pictures.I personally recommend this place, and you can take pictures like this, so if you can come here, please come and try it. So let’s head to the next spot. You can also walk right next to the lake like this. This place is amazing, the roads aren’t that narrow, and it’s a nice walking course. Moreover, the distance between the cherry blossoms and people is so close that it is a highly recommended spot for taking photos. The Thomas Jefferson Memorial is also quite far away. But it’s worth walking to this side. After all, the scenery looks completely different depending on the location. If you don’t have time like this, you won’t know where the best spots are, so I hope this time I can walk around various places and show you the best spots. It really takes a long time to go around this lake called Tidal Basin. That’s why I think it would be quite difficult for everyone to go on a tour or go on their own and see all the cherry blossoms in one go. That’s why I thought it would be great if I could show you the best spots when I have time like this, and I’d be happy to show you cherry blossom photo spots on Google Maps. I came here for the first time in a while! Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial. I wrote about it in my previous Washington DC tourism blog, but this is my second time here, and the atmosphere is completely different. At that time, I came at night. I think there is a hole behind the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, and it has a meaning as well. Please check out another Washington DC VLOG for more details. This Martin Kings Junior is really big. Can you see him? This size is so impressive. I didn’t know that there were cherry blossom trees around here, so this place is also nice. The atmosphere is completely different. You can also see the Washington Memorial in the distance. Let’s take a walk outside and take a look. The cherry blossoms are blooming behind here too. The left side here is also in full bloom. It’s nice to go around on a bike like this. scooter. If you walk to this side, you will arrive at the place where I mentioned earlier that there is a cherry tree that Japan gave as a gift for the first time. This is what the view looks like from behind. Now let’s go back and look for cherry blossom spots. As I was looking at things like this, I thought it was kind of like the Sumida River in Tokyo, but the scale is so different. what is it? It’s so vast that you’d think it’s the size of the Sumida River, so I thought one day wouldn’t be enough, so I thought I’d split this time into two days and explore it. It’s about 3:30 or 4 o’clock now since the tour started at 12 o’clock, so I’ve been walking slowly for about 4 hours now, looking for the best shots, or rather, the best photo spots, and making a map of the cherry blossoms, so I want to share it with you all. . I will continue to look for the best spots. In this way, I have a map that clearly shows what is where. The view from up here is also beautiful. Next is this one. Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial The cherry blossoms here are also very beautiful. amazing. There are actually cherry blossom trees planted all around here. This place is amazing, there are many bronze statues related to American history. So, I think it’s always included on tours. This is also one of the historic Washington DC sightseeing spots introduced in another video. Cherry blossoms are blooming here too. It might be best to come to Washington in the spring. You can see the cherry blossoms and do some sightseeing as well, double the cost? You can enjoy it twice. This is my second time coming here, and it’s completely different from coming during the cherry blossom season. This is a map, and since it is the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial, it is a tourist spot with a total of 4 points of interest. Your name is also written here. This is one of the tourist spots when you come to Washington DC. This is also a recommended spot where you can take photos of the Washington Memorial with the cherry blossoms. There’s someone drawing next to me. Can you see it over there? I can see that Kings Jr. statue over there. I can hear Japanese music . Is Sakura alone? I play the trumpet while playing music. I found the Someiyoshino cherry tree sign. So, all the cherry blossoms blooming here should be dyed. If you follow the Thomas Jefferson Memorial to the left, you will arrive at the Roosevelt Memorial here in Franklin Dera. From here, the Someiyoshino cherry trees are in full bloom and can even be seen inside the park. So, this is also a spot named after cherry blossoms. There is no doubt that you can see cherry blossoms wherever you walk. Really. And today is Friday…oh, lie, lie, today is Wednesday, but the number of people has increased gradually. I think it’s probably even worse on Saturdays and Sundays. This is the left side of the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, and TV station people were filming things like this from here with their cameras, so I guess the view from here is probably the real main view. I think. I guess it’s the best spot because the TV station people are filming a lot from here. But actually, you can see the Washington Memorial in front of you like this, and you can see the Thomas Jefferson Memorial on the right, so this is probably the best spot . There are so many people actually taking photos. Which scenic spot is your favorite? If you don’t have much time and are coming to Washington DC to see the cherry blossoms, I’d be happy if you could find a spot that you’d want to go to early or preferentially.Wow, the water is increasing. . I guess it’s low tide around noon and gradually becomes high tide in the evening. We are now showing you the view from the Thomas Jefferson Memorial. If you go a little higher up, you can get a better view of the entire scenery. The cherry blossoms are so beautiful. There aren’t any blooms near the bridge, but if you go around it once, you can get a general sense of the geography. If you have the time, I think it would be a good idea to do one lap, but the sightseeing spots are clustered on the left side. The right side is mainly a park where you can enjoy viewing the cherry blossoms. Arrival at the Washington Monument. There are a lot of cherry blossoms blooming here too. around this monument. I’ll give you a little bit here as well. This is how the cherry blossoms are blooming at the Washington Memorial. It’s about 5:30 now, so it’s starting to feel like evening, so you can see a different kind of cherry blossoms. I went around the Tidal Basin to see how beautiful it was, but what did you think of the National Cherry Blossom Festival event? There were a lot of tourists coming from not only all over the United States, but also from all over the world, so I got the sense that it was a really popular event. The cherry blossoms were also in full bloom, so I was happy to be able to share these beautiful cherry blossoms with everyone. So, thank you for watching the video until the end. I would be happy if this video could be of some help to anyone who wants to come to the cherry blossom festival, and I would be happy if it made you think even just a little bit about how beautiful the cherry blossoms were. We hope to see you again in the next video. So see you soon~
