金勝アルプスとは滋賀県大津市から栗東市にまたがる 標高605mの竜王山と鶏冠山491mの山々です。竜王山中に金勝寺（こんしょうじ）というお寺があり、地元では金勝（こんぜ）山と親しみを持って呼ばれています。稜線には風化した巨岩、奇岩があり、特に天狗岩はその上に立つと琵琶湖と湖南地帯の素晴らしい眺望が楽しめます。茶沸観音、狛坂寺廃寺跡と磨崖仏、オランダ堰堤と、景勝、史跡にとんだ山です。
The Kanakatsu Alps are a group of mountains that spans from Otsu City to Ritto City in Shiga Prefecture, including Mt. Ryuo at an altitude of 605m and Mt. Keikan at an altitude of 491m. There is a temple called Konshoji in Mt. Ryuo, which is affectionately called Mt. Konze by the locals. There are weathered huge rocks and strangely shaped rocks along the ridgeline, and if you stand on top of Tengu Rock in particular, you can enjoy a wonderful view of Lake Biwa and the Konan area. It is a mountain full of scenic spots and historic sites, including the Chafutsu Kannon, the ruins of Komazaka-dera Temple, the Magaibutsu, and the Dutch Dam.
