【美浦村】公開された戦跡廃墟　鹿島海軍航空隊跡

Kashima Naval Air Corps Base Site Site of a World War II battle Mainly used for training of surface reconnaissance aircraft mounted on warships, etc. After the war, Tokyo Medical and Dental University was established here, and an affiliated hospital opened the following year in Tokyo. Even after the University of Medicine and Dentistry moved to Tokyo, it became the university’s affiliated Kasumigaura branch hospital and mainly accepted tuberculosis patients, but it was closed in 1997 and became famous as a haunted spot.It was opened to the public in 2023 and can be visited for a fee on Saturdays and Sundays only. It has also been used as a filming location for movies such as “Don’t Mess With Eizouken” and “Godzilla-1.0.” There is also a weekend cafe where you can enjoy drinks and snacks , and it is a replica of Lake Kasumigaura. I tried the Kasumigaura curry and the limited-edition Keema curry.It was much more delicious than I expected.Also , there is a tour where you will be accompanied by a lady to guide you inside the premises, but I wanted to concentrate on photography, so I went alone. The inside of the building was used as a hospital for many years, so it has been renovated quite a bit, but the basic structure remains the same as the main building of the Air Corps, such as the barracks behind the main building. It was made of wood, so all that remains is the foundation. After touring the ruins of the soldiers’ dreams, I decided to take a break and drink a 250 yen iced coffee at the old car garage where the reception was located before heading home. That’s all for now.
