春の京都　桜巡り 2024_06 川端通り　枝垂れ桜並木

Kyoto shines in spring.
The blooming of cherry blossoms this year in 2024 has been significantly delayed compared to last year.
This shooting took place over two days and one night from March 31st to April 1st.
Unfortunately, the sky was cloudy on the 31st,
but the next day, the 1st, was a great change from yesterday.
On a day like this, go to a spacious place…
So, I headed to the weeping cherry trees along the Kamo River.
The left bank of the Kamogawa River from Shichijo to Sanjo is called the “Flower Corridor.”
This time, we will take a look at the area between the Shomen Bridge and Gojo Ohashi Bridge.
Take 17 System to Kawaramachi-Shomen.
Proceed east along the Shomen street and head towards the Kamogawa River.
This is where Nintendo’s old headquarters is located.
It is currently operating as a hotel.
If you go further east from the old Nintendo building, you will see a bridge over the Kamogawa River.
This is the Shomen Bridge.
If you look at the left bank of the Kamogawa River, you will see a row of weeping cherry trees, which is the purpose of this trip.
The tree-lined avenue was crowded with many cherry blossom viewing visitors.
I’m surprised that most of them are from overseas.
Such a lively tree-lined street that shines against the blue sky.
Look up at the cherry blossoms from the Shomen street to Gojo Ohashi Bridge on Gojo Street
and go north.
A photo session was being held with everyone.
Most of these people are also from overseas.
The people in Japanese clothes are also from overseas.
Almost everything I hear is a foreign language.
I think the situation has become even more surprising than before.
Let’s take a walk while enjoying the scenery and cherry blossoms.
This time’s final destination, Gojo Ohashi Bridge, came into view.

From Kyoto Station Karasumaguchi A2 bus stop, take the 4, 17, or 205 bus.
Get off at Kawaramachi-Shomen. It takes about 5 minutes.
It is about a 5 minute walk to the Shomen bridge.
