【城めぐり】河津桜に埋まる 松ヶ崎城 千葉県【攻略ルート】
I’m coming to Kitakashiwa Station.
This time we will visit fMatsugasaki Castle Ruins from here.
Let’s check the route on the map.
This is Kitakashiwa Station, the current location.
The destination is Matsugasaki Castle Ruins.
It takes about 10 minutes on foot from the station.
After seeing the castle ruins, we will continue on to Teganuma.
Let’s head there right away.
It looks like you can enter from here.
Kawazu cherry blossoms are already in full bloom.
The Matsugasaki Castle ruins are known as a famous spot for Kawazu cherry blossoms.
Matsugasaki Castle is thought to have been built by the Sosa clan between the 15th and 16th centuries,
but the exact date of construction and the person who built it are unknown.
Until the 17th century, this area, which was part of the Katori Sea, was a strategic point connecting the Inland Sea and Edo, and it is thought that there was a dock there.
In 2004, it was designated as a cultural property by Kashiwa City.
The Kawazu cherry blossoms inside the castle are already in full bloom.
The koshi-kuruwa on the north side is a parking lot.
Above this is the main enclosure.
In 2010, 70 broad-leaved trees, including Kawazu cherry blossoms, were planted.
More than 10 years have passed since then, and the Kawazu cherry blossoms are in full bloom every year in early spring.
Below this is a steep slope.
It is the main enclosure.
There was a viewing platform on the east side.
The viewing platform was originally a burial mound.
There are three ancient tombs here, the largest of which was used as an viewing platform.
These are the earthworks and moat surrounding Honkuruwa.
Let’s take a look at the territory map.
The north, south and east are cliffs, and only the west side is connected to the earth.
For this reason, the west side was especially fortified and a dry moat was built.
A wide kuruwa was placed to the south of the Honkuruwa, and earthworks were also encircled here.
Further to the south, three koshi-kuruwas were built.
This is the moat and
the entrance on the west side.
This place was kuichigai-koguchi.
This is Honkuruwa.
You can see the viewing deck in the back.
Go through the narrow passage on the south side.
This path continues to the koshi-kuruwa.
The end of it also looks like a koshi-kuruwa.
There was a spring further ahead.
Is it mizu-no-te-kuruwa?
Below this, the city area is already expanding.
After this, we will move to Teganuma.
Teganuma is quite large, so
let’s start with Kitakashiwa Furusato Park, which is about a 10-minute walk from Kitakashiwa Station.
It is located on the banks of Lake Teganuma.
Teganuma was originally an eroded valley, but
until the Middle Ages it became an inlet leading to the Katori Sea.
After the Edo period, it became downstream of the Tone River due to the Tone River East Relocation Project.
During the Taisho era, villas of writers of the Shirakaba school, such as Mushanokoji Saneatsu and Siga Naoya , were built on the banks.
I’m walking towards the east.
The rapeseed flowers give the impression of Chiba Prefecture.
We arrived at Teganuma Park.
This is the remains of the ferry port.
This place was connected to Shonan Town on the opposite bank by boat.
This is not Kashiwa City, but Abiko City.
Cape Leach is located at the tip of the park.
Are they seagulls?
There are flocks of ducks even though it’s not even the ocean.
But there are waves and it feels a little like the sea…
Until recently, Teganuma was said to be the epitome of a dirty swamp, but
in recent years the water quality has gradually improved and
now many birds, fish, shellfish, aquatic animals, and aquatic plants are breeding here.
Cross the Tega Ohashi Bridge and
move to the Michi-no-Eki.
This is “Michi no Eki Shonan.”
CAstle seals are sold here.
So that’s all for this video.
Thank you for watching until the end.
See you again in another city.
