Stressed local opens up to me on Tokyo streets 🇯🇵
Join me as I show you this eventful day in Tokyo: From my first sushi in Japan, to chats with locals, to convenience store snacks, tourist spots such as Sensoji temple & Shibuya crosswalk, this day well and truly had it all…
I was feeling a little under the weather so my day started off with a trip to a local supermarket near Ueno metro station to pickup some fruit, coffee and a pack of tissues.
We then hit the first spot of the day, Sensoji temple. Touristy spots like this are sometimes a bit overwhelming so I didn’t stay too long before heading over to the beautiful, tranquil Sumida River Park. This is where a local Japanese kid named Mim came up to me and we had a long chat about life.
By now it was midday and time to meet my friend from USA that has come to join me in Tokyo. Together, we walked around trying to find one of Tokyo’s best street foods at a Ministop convenience store. We then took a walk around a local street market where we found an unexpected surprise…
On day two, I take a long walk around Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, one of Tokyo’s most incredible parks to take in the atmosphere and have a moment to myself before heading back into the busy and bustling streets.
I came across Taito Games, which is an arcade next to Shibuya scramble crossing. It was one of the biggest and busiest arcades I’ve seen in my life. Next door was a Pachinko arcade, which I’ve heard is a very popular game amongst middle aged and older folk.
The day came to an end when we went to eat Sushi at an intimate little restaurant with a very homely feeling. The restaurant had been in the family for over 100 years… safe to say it was some of the best I’ve ever had!

I'm loving your japan videos!
711 japan is famous for their egg salad sandwiches
Loving these videos Oli, an excellent insight to Japan.
sorry🥲
Pachinko brings in more money than all the casinos in Macao and Vegas COMBINED. It’s unreal. Feel better soon and try ramen at a place called Kikanbo. It’s the best spicy ramen in Tokyo and will definitely make your congestion better.
Hope you recover soon
All it needs is Lee to join him and iQ of Japan will tumble.
hi! ようこそJAPANへ!🇯🇵 I hope you have a good experience and memories.
judging by how many fingers the sushi chef had his knife skills aren't the best
This is a valuable and nice journey for you. I pray that the conflicts between you, the boy, and us will eventually make the world a little more perfect✌
Can you tell me the name of the sushi restaurant? 🙂
I hope you enjoyed your awesome trip in tokyo :3 i only watched your first vid (but in 1go xD) now i'm subscribed because you are good with speaking on cam and interesting to watch with your glowing eyes and excitement ;D sadly, i must wait a year longer to see tokyo for the second time i follow a bunch of english speaking youtubers and probably watched 80%of all tokyo vlogs und recommendation videos on youtube to not miss a single highlight to see and do, to shorten the wait a little. I hope you can come back soon and have a longer stay to see more of all the cool places you didn't saw on this trip.
Did you ever make it to Don Quijote?
Mate, love your excitement at seeing everything, it's great to see and it's how I feel when I go! Having been several times I'm like it from the day I arrive till the day I leave…everything is somehow better…Such a place👍
Couple of things….
Arigato Gozaimasu =thank you
Ohayo Gozaimasu=good morning
Konnichiwa-hello in the day (not in morning use Ohayo Gozaimasu instead or konbanwa in evening)
Onegaishimasu= please, you can use this with gesturing to get what you want.
These go a long way imo with people! Plus if you wanna be a pro give a little bow when saying thanks to people like they will do.
Super pro tip – TRY melon fanta, and buy melon bread, not related but are both awesome
Get bread or coffee from one of the independent or local chains as well, they have amazing bakeries that blow the pastries from 7/11 out the water, not that the 7/11 stuff is bad but the bakery stuff is next level.
Go to CoCo ichibanya for curry
Go get Karaage fried chicken somewhere
Hire a Luup (green ebike) to cover long distance or to tour areas like Odaiba and Toyosu
Enjoy👌
Subscribe if you enjoyed 🙂 There are plenty more Japan videos on their way.
Glad to see it's being well received so far!
💦My goodness, all those delicious foods every where! I was so jealous watching it to be honest because we can't get most of those outside Japan where I live and I miss all of them so much! (I'm Japanese and live in Canada now for 30 yrs) I'm so glad you made it to the real traditional Japanese sushi restaurant with your friends. That's the true sushi experience in Japan for authentic dishes and style. It was absolutely mouthwatering watching it though. 🤤 The teen age Japanese/Korean/Brazilian guy reminded of myself when I was around his age. I'm mix with a 1/4 of Filipino but not because of my ethnic background but it's because where I grew up partly in Mexico when I was much younger with my family and then we went back to Japan afterwards. I was pretty much Mexicanized (is it a word?) or westernized more or less by the time my family returned to Japan and it was a bit of a struggle for me as well trying to fit in to Japanese society and culture although I was still young. I did all right trying to become Japanese again but as I was growing older particularly in my late teens, I had kind of a identity crisis perhaps just like that young guy you were having conversation with by Sumida river. I wasn't sure whether I was Japanese, Mexican or something else. I also became more aware about my sexuality as a gay man but Japan wasn't so open and definitely not as "inclusive" as it is now back then so I always had to suppress myself and to pretend to be as a straight man as possibly I could at that time but it was not a happy life for me. So all of that experience about my life made me think and wanted to live somewhere in a foreign country so I started to prepare myself to achieve that goal and dream myself until my whole family also decided to move to Canada but it was already when I was in my 20's. I wished I moved to Canada when I was much younger. Living in Japan where it's still a monoethnic country, being a bi racial, multi racial or returnee growing up abroad like myself would experience almost the same experience or sense of being always an outsider because majority of Japanese people would look at them differently or sometimes treat them differently without any mal intention. You also notice yourself that the way you think and what you accustom to are different from typical Japanese people. I also feel the similar way even now living in Canada after 30 years because I fall into somewhere in between Japan and Canada but I had already accepted and embraced myself to be ok to be different and especially living in Canada makes me feel safe as most of us here are immigrant from all different parts of the world. Thanks for another interesting video about Tokyo, it was very entertaining to watch an English man wandering around the huge mega strange place in Tokyo. I wished you could stay longer in Japan to the point where you could even speak in Japanese with other Japanese people but we will save that for the near future, shall we? LOL
Do you know about Ameya Yokocho (Ameyoko), the crazy street in Ueno? Have you been there? It's my favorite street in Tokyo.
Welcome to Japan!

Your strange experience.
This is what you experienced in the toilets at Shinjuku station.
Perhaps a homosexual was interested in your genitals.
Incidentally, the drugstore you visited before entering Shinjuku Gyoen is located in Shinjuku 2-Chome, a famous gay town.
love the long form bro its such a breath of fresh air man
In Japan, it is considered bad manners to eat and drink while walking, so there are no trash cans to dispose of garbage after eating or drinking. The other reason is to prevent terrorism.
The toilet at Ueno Station that you went to is famous as a gay sanctuary.
be careful sir,😅
Near the Sensouji Temple, there is a Bakery Perikan.
That is special Syoku Pan Bakery. but many people usually make long line, sold out fast.
In base eating and walking are outside manner in Japan. We study in Child time.
Before visit please search own manners and respect own language. If you visit after study something, Japan will answer more study and esperience. If you have only little inteligence, will come to you only many dissatisfactions.
You don't must enter in Temple with drink. It's most Respectless. In church, you don't bring with drink? in Shrine there is a sant wash place to wash hand and mouth. because hand and mouth are impulity. He is not Japanese. Because Mim is not japanese Name. Befavior and eyesline too not Japaneseself. Perhaps Chinese or Korean. If he speak Japanese ,surely we can listen mix many sound chinese pronanceation. Perhaps only get nationality japan(or not, only mouth)surely chinese. So he can not feel japanese rules and culture, and want go out.
Get IC Pasmo card for trains and you can use it for pay in stores also
Have you encountered a pervert in the restroom? I'm sorry to hear that.
