Amakusa sunset eight views Sunset at Ogase Oe, Amakusa Town, Amakusa City Description of Sunset at Ogase. In the Nishibira district on the west coast of Amakusa, there is Nishibira Tsubaki Park, which is approximately 7 ha and home to approximately 20,000 camellias.

The East China Sea stretches across the west side of the park, and we came here to see the rocky reef “Ogase” floating about 1.1 km from the coast and the sunset over it. Approximately 2.8 km to the south is a slightly smaller reef called Kogase, which is sometimes jointly called Ogase and Kogase.

Both are popular fishing points for anglers. Ogase is made up of about 10 large and small reefs that have been carved out by the rough waves of the East China Sea and have a rough appearance. The largest one is about 18m high.

The nearby ocean has been designated as a marine park, and the ocean floor is home to tropical creatures such as stony coral, sea crests, and staghorn hydra. The sunset over Ogase is so beautiful that it has been selected as one of Japan’s Top 100 Sunsets and Amakusa’s Eight Views of Sunsets.

The park has an observation deck and is a recommended spot with a great view. Today, I’m visiting “Nishibiratsubaki Park” in Oe, Amakusa Town, Amakusa City. I came to see the “Sunset at Ogase”. There are some clouds left, but I would like to go to Ogase. Let’s take off! Ogase
