【韓国】水原華城を歩くvlog【カルビおいしい】

Long time no see, I’m Doooo! I walked around Seoul with colleagues yesterday btw We enjoyed foods and areas around Myongdong! Today we’re going to go to Suwon Suwon is about 35 km south from Seoul, they’re famous for Suwon Hwaseong and Kalbi

When we use Google map to find out where to go in Seoul, accidentally found the pic of Suwon Hwaseong and decided to come here immediately. There’re many ways to arrive Suwon from Seoul such as train, metro, express train and bus But Suwon Hwaseong is a bit far from Suwon (train) station so

We took the bus for Suwon at Sadang. Here isn’t a tourist spot for foreigners so all of them are written in Korean. At first I was confused but the T-money is too good to use, this like the Easycard in Taiwan, we can use this at all of transportations!

But we shouldn’t forget to know where we are by using Google-Map and push a bell if you arrived at your destination, Hwaseong Fortress was made at the end of the 18th century. When King Jeongjo, the 22nd monarch of the Joseon dynasty of Korea moved his father’s tomb to Suwon

he surrounded it with strong defensive stuffs such as great walls, towers and so on. The massive walls of the fortress are 5.74 km in length, so I recommend you to decide where to visit in advance. Paldalmun Gate is at the southernmost area,

and there’re a bunch of stores preparing Korean foods and sourvenirs. So we headed to Paldalmun Gate from the northmost gate. Btw, they’re too attractive for us, aren’t they? We took a lot of pics each other here! In east Asia, China always gave other countries a strong impressions.

Korea and Japan are highly influenced China, so we also have similar architectural style. But I found that they’re very similar but each one is slightly different during this trip. I DON’T KNOW WHY THOUGH. How do foreigners feel it?

The inside of these walls is an urban area, so its view feels strange… Hwaseong fortress and Changdeokgung (Seoul) are one of the UNESCO world cultural heritages. but we didn’t meet any foreigners here while many people visit Changdeokgung. is it because of distance from Seoul?

King Jeongjo was trying to move the capital here due to the influence of feng shui. So facilities here are too large, we won’t be able to walk around all of them on a half day. Let’s not visit all areas……

Sometime they have road signs written by Korean, but most of them were for Korean travelers. If in Seoul, it would have other information in various language.. And, did you know that Google Map doesn’t work very well in Korea?? We were completely confused and lost our way!

I wish i could understand Korean…. After long times, finally arrived at Hwaseong Haenggung Palace, it is the place that would become the imperial palace if their capital was completely moved. An event took place at main square.

We thought it was a performance using replicator swords but a real sword appeared in the last session. So we’re literally excited!! This performance would take place every day at 11am, I highly recommend you to check it out.

I heard that most of them were already burned out during Korean war, so stuffs we can visit were re-built in 1990s. That’s why all the walls were so brightly colored. This painting is always found in Korean temples, what do they mean?? I need to learn Korean history more…

Paldalmun Gate is so cool!! This must be a gate we founded on Google Map! There is an illustration of a dragon inside the gate. In China or Taiwan, if there is a pic of a dragon, a tiger is also nearby. It related to Taoism.

But I couldn’t find a tiger today… Ummm…the other gate have a tiger? There’re a tons of stores and restaurants next to the Paldalmun Gate. but we decided to have a lunch at a famous Kalbi restaurant, Kabojung Kalbi! Took a bus and walked for 6-7 mins, finally arrived here.

We ordered a lunch course containing Kalbi, they offered too many side dishes! Korean restaurant always prepare side dishes too, great. But what happens if I come to eat them alone?? It costed about 70,000W (8,000 yen), cuz today is Sunday. They also have more cheaper lunch menu at weekdays.

Enjoyed kalbi and our wallet also became slim^^ Okay, no problem, I’ll work hard at Japan… Suddenly uploaded a vlog about Korea… How was it? We can go everywhere with T-card so I wanna try rural area next time, I can’t speak Korean though haha

Korea was quite colder than I expected, so I’d like to plan next trip when the temperature gets warmer! Thank you for watching!
