  1. I confess to tears at the beautiful departure from the Bonins. Japanese seem lovely people in general. You loved your visit so much, and it shows…and your work continues to charm me, for sure. Thank you once again. Arigato beaucoup, encore… A la prochaine ✌🤟💙💙💙💙💙

  4. My dear friend, I would love to explore the world with you because you know all the best places to visit. Wishing you lots of love, safety, and unforgettable experiences in life.

  6. I found the ferry a bit cold and not very nice decor. Given the journey takes 24 hours. They could do with a renovation. Specially the lounge. Looks like a train station waiting room. Your cabin was nice though.

  7. This great video inspired me to read a guidebook for the Ogasawara Islands (the Bonin Islands).
According to the book, during World War II, there was a Japanese military radio facility on the top of Mt. Asahi. 6:18
The pilot who came to bomb the place was former US President George H.W. Bush, but the bomber was shot down by Japanese anti-aircraft fire. September 2, 1944. The two American soldiers on board died, and Bush was the only one who was rescued by an American submarine while drifting off the coast northeast of Chichijima.
In 2002, Bush visited Chichijima, laid flowers at the spot where his aircraft was shot down, stayed overnight on Chichijima, and gave a speech promoting the friendship between Japan and the United States.

  8. Watching the sun rise reminds me of a song by John & Vangelis Friends of Mr Cairo “The sun rises in the East and my heart is at peace”
