This time, I will stay in a hotel in Tokyo for the first time in a while. I came to Mejiro with Monjiro to get an early taste of spring. It’s a great gate. Proceed to the premises surrounded by greenery. The early cherry blossoms are already blooming!
A taxi will stop in front of the entrance at the back of the long approach. Staff in nice uniforms will quickly unload your luggage. It has a profound atmosphere! Everything is shiny and shiny. “Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo”. It means “camellia”, “mountain”, and “manor” in kanji.
Although it is located in the city center, this hotel allows you to enjoy a beautiful and vast Japanese garden. It is also famous as one of Japan’s leading wedding halls. You’ll feel like you’re really in Tokyo. The lobby exudes European elegance and will take your breath away.
I decided to enjoy the inside of the hotel later and checked in. You will be guided to the front desk by a cheerful and smiling staff member. While confirming my reservation, I was asked if I wanted a copy of the morning newspaper.
I wanted to have a relaxing breakfast this time, so I ordered room service. In the garden, you can enjoy an installation called “Tokyo Unkai”! Furthermore, it seems that you can enjoy “Yozakura Unkai” after dark at this time of year, so I would like to see both of them ♪
Furthermore, there is also a map of the camellias and cherry blossoms planted in the garden. I would also like to take full advantage of the garden. I’m really looking forward to it♪ After completing the formalities, I head to my room following the staff.
There is an Italian restaurant up ahead, and we plan to have dinner there. The marble floor is impressive. Artworks can be seen everywhere. The elevator hall is also surrounded by marble and is wonderful to admire. The lobby earlier was on the 3rd floor, and this room is on the 8th floor.
The guest room floors are predominantly white, giving a bright impression. It is very nice! No matter where you look, you’ll be overwhelmed with emotion as you see a succession of beautiful and extraordinary spaces. This is the room. I’m looking forward to it. We will carefully guide you through the facilities in your room.
The card key has a wonderful garden design! excuse me for disturbing you. It seems deep and wide. When I nervously went inside, I found a space like this. European elegance design with a calm atmosphere. This is a 45 square meter room called “Prime Superior King Garden View”.
First, let’s look at the view. The curtains are gorgeous. Press the bedside button. Although it is not a corner room, it is designed so that it sticks out in front of you, allowing you to enjoy a wide view. The view has a sense of openness and is very comfortable.
If you walk up to the window and take a look, you’ll see a panoramic view of the iconic garden! The contrast with the Ikebukuro buildings in the background is interesting. You can also clearly see the restaurant and banquet building.
Currently, many trees have lost their leaves, but soon many cherry blossoms will bloom and the area will soon be covered in lush greenery. You can see the three-storied pagoda and the Kanda River, and when you see it from above, it feels like an oasis in the city.
If you choose a garden view room, you will enjoy this view during your stay. Let’s take a closer look inside the room. There is a relaxing sofa and table next to the window. The bed is made by Sealy. You can choose king size or twin. It is 180cm wide and 200cm long.
The side table has a profound atmosphere. There’s a phone, a notepad, a nice light, etc. There are lights, curtains that can be opened and closed, and electrical outlets. You can also close the switch. The colors and design of the notepad are lovely. On the other side was a clock.
This is the most standard room at this hotel. It’s spacious! The colors of the furniture are also very elegant. The TV can be stored in the cupboard. You can get a variety of information on the TV, such as directions to the facility and how crowded the restaurants are.
A Blu-ray player is also available. When I opened the drawer, there was a separate type of nightgown in it. There is a nicely designed desk next to the TV. There are various guides available. There are 2 outlets, including one that can be used overseas, as well as LAN and USB.
Next to my desk is a picture of the 53 Stations of the Tokaido. If you go back a little towards the entrance, there is a minibar. It’s organized and feels clean. This is what it looks like on the top plate. I’m happy to have a large work space.
A Nespresso machine and two bottles of water. The tea utensil set is made by Hakusan Toki, and the Kutani ware bean plate is a nice accent. There is no water label, but there is a Chinzanso logo on the tag. Glasses and C&S are in the glass door above.
“NARUMI”‘s pure white and simple design. The shelf at the foot looks simple, but when you open it, you’ll find a variety of things prepared for you♪ Here’s what’s inside the large drawer at the top. Red wine, mini bottles of liquor, price list. Snacks such as mixed nuts and popcorn.
It looks like this below. Beer, tea, juice, etc. are available in the refrigerator. There are three types of Nespresso capsules in the drawer, including decaffeinated ones. Three types of tea bags. There are tableware and chopsticks in the bottom drawer. In the bottom drawer is an electric kettle and an ice bucket.
There is a bathroom next to the minibar! It’s spacious! The stone construction and white bathtub are lovely. A large mirror has a slight angle to the left and right, which is convenient. Beautifully designed wash basin. There are also some useful items available.
There are a lot of interesting things lined up above the sink♪ There’s also a box with a camellia design and a TV for the bathroom. The bathroom amenities are L’Occitane’s Citrus Verbena series. shea butter soap. The soap holder also has a camellia design.
There is also a camellia plate, and there are also toiletries. There is also a camellia design here. 100% camellia oil and facial soap made from Oshima’s Yabutsubaki without heating or additives. You’ll be excited by the carefully crafted items that are typical of Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo.
Toothbrushes and other items come in a dark green box that looks like a camellia leaf. This is a hotel original and environmentally friendly. When you open the package, you will find something like this. This is the first time I’ve seen a toothbrush made with rice husk. After use, it will be further recycled.
Inside the drawer is a drawstring bag with the hotel’s logo. There is a hair dryer inside the drawstring bag. It’s a big bathtub. It has a shower and seems easy to use. The shampoos are also from L’Occitane. The scent and feel are smooth.
The bathtub is deep and towels are provided on the side. There is a glass shower room next to it. A hand shower with a large head. On the side there is a bal robe with a large collar. When you exit the bathroom, there is a door with a mirror in front of you.
When you open it, it’s a closet. Various things are available. There are 3 types of hangers. Used when ordering laundry or shoeshine. Slippers, safe, iron, non-woven bag. The slippers are plain and simple. Finally, the restroom in the bathroom. It is tankless and comes with a washlet.
When I returned to my desk and opened the information file, I found a lovely postcard. There was also an access card to the hotel and a jogging map. For room service breakfast, fill out this card and hang it on the doorknob by midnight.

“Hotel Chinzanso” began when the military and politician Aritomo Yamagata purchased this land, which had long been a mountain where camellias grew wild, built a mansion and garden there, and named it “Chinzanso.”
After that, it became a restaurant, Chinzanso, and became known as a prestigious wedding venue.Four Seasons Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo was also built there, and it became what it is today. The lobby is decorated with Keio cherry blossoms from Yamagata Prefecture. I can’t wait for spring.
Let’s head towards the garden from here at the back of the lobby. What a beautiful staircase! Continue on while admiring the works of art here and there. An impressive dragon sculpture. Looking back, this is what it looks like.
It is on the second floor where there is a bar and banquet hall. Proceed further down. We arrived at the first floor. You can go out to the garden from here. Is it a spring storm? The wind was very strong on this day, and the trees were shaking.
It’s a sunny day, so you can enjoy the beautiful garden. As I descended through the garden, which had different heights, I came across a red bridge. wonderful! It is said to be called “Benkei-bridge”. There is a stream flowing under the bridge, and around mid-May you can enjoy watching fireflies fly around!
Forget the hustle and bustle outside the hotel and soak in the atmosphere of this garden. The positional relationship is as follows. You can get directions inside the garden from the QR code. As you cross the bridge, you will see stone statues like this. They all have different expressions and poses and are cute.
These are said to be stone statues of the 500 Arhats drawn by Jyakuchu Ito. There are many things to see here and there, and you can have fun walking around. We arrived at the large pond that we could see from our room. It is said to be called “Yusui-pond”.
Kawazu cherry blossoms are blooming. If you look up, you can also see the three-storied pagoda. It looked like the view would be nice if you went up towards the wedding venue, so I came to see it.
Over the next two months, 100 cherry blossom trees of about 20 different varieties will bloom one after another! Summer, autumn, and winter are also attractive because you can enjoy different flowers and colors in each season. Suddenly, fog appeared around the pond!
This is “Tokyo Unkai”! It’s more fun and exciting to actually see it than I imagined! There is no other place that produces fog on this scale as a garden effect, and it is the largest in Japan.
This happens once every 30 minutes for about 3 minutes, and at this time of year you can enjoy “Yozakura Unkai” even more after sunset. Although it is an artificial fog, the way it spreads changes depending on the weather and wind, so no two fogs are the same.
After enjoying the sea of clouds, we will resume walking around the garden. There are statues of the Seven Lucky Gods in the park, so everyone will have fun looking for them. There is also a waterfall. The cool water flowing down between the moss-covered rocks is so beautiful that it cleanses your soul.
It is called “Gojyo-waterfall”. There are discoveries to be made wherever you look. Plum trees are also blooming. It seems that you can climb up to the three-storied pagoda from the pond side, so I decided to go there. Will this lantern light up at night?
Speaking of “Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo”, it’s Tsubaki. You can enjoy about 2,300 camellias of about 100 types! This is what it looks like when you climb to the top. It is well maintained and easy to walk, and the view looks good. Kawazu cherry blossoms welcomed us.
If you go further, you will come to a three-storied pagoda. That’s excellent. It doesn’t look like a garden inside a hotel in Tokyo. Entsukaku, a three-storied pagoda designated as a nationally designated tangible cultural property, was originally located at Chikurinji Temple in Hiroshima Prefecture, and was moved here in 1925.
The surrounding pines are decorated with Yukitsuri, giving it a look unique to winter. It seems that the cherry blossoms will bloom one after another in this area. As I went down from the other side, I saw a torii gate. This is Inari Shrine. He is the guardian deity of this hotel.
The surrounding area is called Tsubakiyama, and various varieties of camellias are in bloom. Many gifts from areas connected to Chinzanso and camellias have been planted. There are several restaurants in the garden, including the famous eel restaurant “Nara Kikusuirou “Unagiku.”

Yozakura Unkai is available until April 14th. After enjoying the night cherry blossoms and the sea of clouds, I would like to stop by here. Main bar. It is located on the second floor of the “LE MARQUIS” hotel and is said to be a stylish hideaway bar for adults. It looks very spacious.
When I entered nervously, I was greeted with a kind smile. It’s a wonderful space, like a stylish mansion overseas. It’s spacious, has a calm atmosphere, and is very comfortable. I asked for a recommended cocktail. I always admire the bartender’s skill. They will make original cocktails for the cherry blossom season.
I’m happy to be able to enjoy cherry blossoms all day today. Bubbles on the top of the glass. The cocktails “Hanamushiro” and “The Garden Martini” have been completed. “The Garden Martini” When the bubbles burst, it looks like a sea of clouds in a garden. It spreads a good scent.

Enjoy a delicious breakfast while relaxing in your room without worrying about anyone else. The morning newspaper is delivered outside the room. Enjoy the refreshing morning view of the garden.
Even though you are in Tokyo, you can see the soothing scenery outside your window. It truly is like an oasis. Completely refreshed, it’s time to leave. I was able to stay early and enjoy the cherry blossoms. If you can come during the cherry blossom season, you might become addicted.
Whether it’s the bright greenery of summer or the changing leaves of autumn, I want to see the different expressions of each season. There are 46 suites, some of the largest in Tokyo, so I’d like to use them for anniversaries, etc.! The atmosphere and taste of the Italian dinner were also great.
