【2024京都旅行#2】東寺から始まる大人の京都旅行 そうだ京都行こうのサイトの情報で巡ってみました。

Travel to Kyoto for 1 night and 2 days.Let’s go to Kyoto. The time to go around. #2 Currently finished checking out of the hotel. We are on our way to our first destination, Toji Temple. This time, it’s on the “Yes, Kyoto, let’s go.” website. Sightseeing will only be based on the information posted.

The latest information is also updated. There were some stores I had never been to before. I’m really looking forward to it (^^). It takes about 16 minutes on foot from here to Toji Temple. That is! . Rihga Royal Hotel came into view. This is a place that has ties to the Shinsengumi.

A stone monument! . There is a stone monument here that stands on the estimated site of the Shinsengumi’s base. He worked to suppress anti-shogunate forces in Kyoto at the end of the Edo period. It was written as the base of the Shinsengumi, “Fudodo Village Gunsho Ruins”.

The words of Isamu Kondo are engraved on it. What is your favorite quote by this person? “He who is not a hero is a true hero.” I have stayed at Rihga Royal several times. I like customer service that is full of hospitality. This is the only revolving observation restaurant in Kyoto.

Toji Temple is now in sight! . Before that, I’ll stop by a Japanese sweets shop. Okashishi Toji Mochi 88 Toji Higashimonzen-cho, Minami-ku, Kyoto Business hours 7:00 – 19:00 Closed on the 6th, 16th, and 26th of every month (open on Sundays and holidays). The store is right next to Toji Temple.

Toji Mochi was founded in the first year of the Taisho era. This is a Japanese sweets shop with a history of over 100 years. Only takeout. It is sold starting from one. The most famous one is “Toji Mochi”. I often buy mugwort daifuku. Today I also bought Toji mochi and mugwort daifuku (^^).

Toji mochi is filled with plenty of strained bean paste and is irresistible. Is it cherry blossoms? . The shop next door was selling cherry blossoms. Cherry blossoms are always beautiful (¨̮). Arrived at Toji Temple. This is not the main gate. Keigamon is the closest gate when accessing from Kyoto Station.

Keigamon is an eight-legged gate built in the early Kamakura period. It has been designated as a national important cultural property. At this time, the five-storied pagoda was specially opened to the public. Let’s go to the center of Toji Temple. You can see the five-storied pagoda as soon as you enter.

Tours around this area are free. This is the “dining room”. It is a place where monks find training in their daily lives. The restaurant was built during the Heian period. There is a shop next to it. There were various fortunes. The fortune of the zodiac (^^). Admission tickets were 800 yen for adults.

If you add “Kanchi-in”, it is 1000 yen. It’s been a while since I’ve been inside Toji Temple. As soon as you enter, there is the famous Fujizakura. It is said that the name “Fujizakura” comes from Kobo Daishi’s “Teachings of Fuji”. And there is an auditorium.

Inside is a hall whose principal image is Dainichi Nyorai. It has an overwhelming sense of scale. Cherry blossoms! . The photo was taken on February 27th, but the flowers were blooming here and there (^^). This is the Kondo Hall, which I recommend as the main attraction in Toji Temple.

When I opened the door, I was overwhelmed by the large Buddha statue in front of me. There is a magnificent Yakushi Sanzon statue, and you can feel the peace in its expression. Naturally, we gently put our hands together. There are cherry blossoms here too! . Is it Kawazu cherry blossom season? .

And there is a five-storied pagoda. The five-storied pagoda of Toji Temple is the tallest wooden pagoda in Japan. On this day, I was able to take a look inside at a special public exhibition. The interior of the first floor is decorated with richly colored patterns. The four Buddhas of Vajra are enshrined here.

Special releases of the first layer are often held. Plum trees are also planted at Toji Temple. Beautiful plum blossoms were blooming (^^). I arrived at Namdaemun. This is the main gate of Toji Temple. It measures 18 meters wide and 13 meters high. The west gate was originally located at Sanjusangendo.

It was relocated in 1895 (Meiji 28). I feel like I’m always there. I wonder if it’s settled in (^^). I think there’s one more. I came to Toji Temple for the first time in a while. My heart was cleansed.

From now on, I’m heading to the Japanese sweets shop I found when I said, “Okay, let’s go to Kyoto.” The location of the shop is near Toji Temple. It’s about a 9 minute walk. That’s it! ! .

9 minutes walk from Hiranoya Toji Temple South Gate Business hours 11:00 – 17:00 Closed on Sundays. Let’s go inside right away. There are lots of delicious-looking ohagi (^^). Warabi mochi is also made. There is also a drink menu available for eat-in. There is also an eat-in space inside the store.

It is a one-drink system. Ohagi (Natsu) 300 yen Ohagi (Matcha Kinako) 230 yen Uji Matcha Green Tea 400 yen. Looks delicious (^^). Ohagi wrapped in four kinds of summer. Matcha ohagi from Uji. And green tea. I was a little conscious of how it looked ^_^;. soft! . There’s plenty of matcha (^^).

The color of matcha looks more vivid than usual. The azuki beans are big (^^). delicious! . It has an elegant and gentle taste. Materials are additive-free as much as possible. The ohagi is a big size (¨̮). Let’s break it down! . Whoa. Cream cheese! . What will it taste like? delicious!

Red bean paste and cream cheese are an unexpected combination. For some reason it fits perfectly! . This is a new discovery (^^). I had the impression that ohagi was a bit hard. It was fluffy and soft. I found a really nice shop (^^). Next, we will head towards Kenninji Temple.

Get on the bus and head to Kyoto Station. Transfer to a bus that will take you to Kenninji Temple. To go to Kennin-ji Temple, take 206. The busiest route. The line goes to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, so it’s quite crowded. just in time. Get off at Shimizu Michi.

It takes about 9 minutes to walk to Kenninji Temple. Arrived at Kenninji Temple. This is the Imperial Envoy Gate. In the back are the Sanmon Gate and the Law Hall. The main attraction, “The Great Twin Dragons,” was on display. Let’s go.

The Imperial Envoy Gate is really impressive when you see it up close (^^). The Imperial Envoy Gate is designated as an important cultural property. It was built in the Kamakura period. Kenninji is the oldest Zen temple in Kyoto. It was built in the second year of the Kennin era during the Kamakura period.

Eh. Here too! . I arrived at Sanmon. It has the words “Watchtower” written on it. It seems to mean “a tower overlooking the imperial palace.” It is said to be a building from the late Edo period. It was moved in 1923 from An’neiji Temple in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture.

The temple hall seen from here is beautiful. Kenninji Temple is unique in that it has tea leaves planted there. Kenninji is a temple that has a deep connection with tea. Eisai Zenji was the founder of Kennin-ji Temple.

He is known as the “Tea Father” because he brought back tea seeds from the Song Dynasty. It is said that before meditating, a ritual was held where tea was served as a medicine to wake up sleepiness. The law hall that I saw earlier. I saw the main temple in front of me.

The inside of the main temple is a paid area. No matter how many times I look at the Twin Dragons, I never get tired of them (^^). From April 1st, the admission fee will be 800 yen for the general public. From here, I will introduce you with photos.

There are many things to see at Kenninji Temple. First up is the “Wind God and Thunder God” folding screen. The actual item has been deposited at the Kyoto National Museum. What you see here is a high-definition digital reproduction. Next is in the garden of ◯▽□.

The four major ideas of Zen Buddhism (earth, water, fire, wind) are expressed in the garden. When I stare at it blankly, I feel drawn in. When did this name come into being? And then there is “Shiontei”. It’s beautiful no matter which direction you look at it. Next is the blue fusuma painting.

The bright blue fusuma paintings in the Buddhist altar room are refreshing (^^). This painting of clouds and dragons is a fusuma painting that is an important cultural property. This fusuma painting is a reproduction. And then there is the Karesansui garden “Daioen”. The flow of water is beautifully expressed with stones and sand.

A recommended spot is Daiyuen, which can be seen through the flower head window (^^). The last one is “Ssangyong-zu”. The Ssangyong figure, which took about two years to complete, is 108 tatami mats in size and is very impressive. In 2002 to commemorate the 800th anniversary of its founding.

It was painted by Japanese painter Junsaku Koizumi. There are many things to see. There are many spots where you can relax. It’s one of my favorite spots in Kyoto ( ¨̮ ). Let’s go to lunch now. There is a Western restaurant nearby that is loved by Maiko. This area is Miyagawa Town.

I feel the atmosphere. The location of the store is about 4 minutes walk from Kenninji Temple. Grill Fukuya About 10 minutes walk from Keihan Railway Gion Shijo Station Business hours 12:00 – 21:00 Closed on Thursdays. This is a long-established Western restaurant that has been in business for over 100 years.

Founded in 1908! . The showcase is also old-fashioned. Today I came to eat the famous Fukuya rice ( ¨̮ ). Do you get a lot of foreign visitors? English and Hangul characters stand out. Let’s go in. The walls were covered with fans from Miyagawa-cho geisha and maiko.

There is a lunch menu on the menu. Bento and soup. sandwich. Chicken rice, curry rice. salad. Omelet rice, high rice. Fried food. We also have the standard menu of Western restaurants. The number of items is overwhelming. Drinks are also abundant. There was also the standard coffee shop menu.

We also have a variety of alcohol. Snacks too! . Fukuya rice 980 yen. colorful! . It was apparently invented 70 to 80 years ago based on requests from maikos. The bright colors are eye-catching. Mixed juice 690 yen. It’s a mixed juice that looks like something you’d find at an old-fashioned coffee shop (^^).

It is unique in that it contains chopped tomatoes instead of ketchup. I don’t wrap the eggs, I put them on later. Inside is ketchup rice with onions. delicious! It’s not ketchup but tomato, so it has a light and gentle taste (^^). The soft-boiled egg doubles the tenderness.

It has a lot of ingredients, including mushrooms and green peas (^^). Bright omelette rice. If a maiko were eating this, it would be a great picture (^^). The mixed juice was so thick that you could stand a straw in it (^^). Nostalgic taste. You can really feel the fruit.

Fukuya rice was really delicious (^^). I would like to come again to try the Western food menu ( ¨̮ ). Next, we will go to a temple associated with Murasaki Shikibu. There is the ruins of Murasaki Shikibu’s residence in Ruzanji Temple.

It is 16 minutes from the Kawaramachi Matsubara bus stop to Rozanji Temple. The bus is number 205. The bus stop is in front of the Prefectural Medical University Hospital. It is about a 5 minute walk from the bus stop. There is also Nashiki Shrine. Arrived at Lushan Temple.

This is also the place where The Tale of Genji was written. The entire area within the grounds of Luzanji Temple was once home to Murasaki Shikibu’s residence. Lushan-dera Temple was relocated in later generations. I am deeply moved to hear that Murasaki Shikibu was born and raised here.

There is a magnificent bell hall over there. There was a monument to Murasaki Shikibu’s poems here. This is the first time I’ve heard of it. Murasaki Shikibu was recognized by UNESCO as a Great Man in 1966. His work has been recognized worldwide. Behind this is Genji’s garden.

At this time, the museum is currently on special display as a non-public cultural property. It was 800 yen for adults (junior high school students and above). Regular admission to Genji Garden costs 500 yen. It is said that Rozanji Temple was moved here during the era of Toyotomi Hideyoshi.

It was only possible to take photos here and at Genji Garden. Gold! . This is Genji garden. The person in charge will give you a detailed explanation of the garden. There is a stone monument marking the ruins of Murasaki Shikibu’s mansion.

The best time to visit here may be from the end of June when the bellflowers bloom. It was a beautiful garden with white sand and moss. There is a cafe on the grounds of the shrine next door, so let’s go there. there were! .

It’s about a 3 minute walk from the previous Rozanji temple. Coffee Base NASHINOKI Inside the grounds of Nashiki Shrine Business hours: 10:00 – 17:00 Open every day. Here, I used “Somei Water”, one of the three most famous waters in Tokyo. This is a cafe where you can enjoy coffee.

There is one drink menu at the cafe. There were also matcha lattes. Chestnut manju and drip coffee were also on sale. You can also choose your favorite coffee beans. After ordering, we will bring it to you when it is ready. Whoa. The verandah (^^). Nice view.

I feel relieved when I sit on the porch and look at this view. You can also use the bench you can see in front of you. Flat white 700 yen. A flat white is a coffee made by combining espresso with milk. The latte art is cute (^^). A moment of relief.

Enjoying a drink while enjoying the atmosphere is something special. From here, go to Kawaramachi via Teramachi Street. On the way, Ippodo-san came into view. It is located along Teramachi Street.

Ippodo Tea Store Kyoto Main Store 52 Tokiwagi-cho, Nijokami-ru, Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto City Business hours 10:00 – 17:00 (LO 16:30) Closed on 2nd Wednesday of the month, New Year holidays. A Japanese tea specialty store founded in 1717. This place mainly sells tea and is a coffee shop. Take-out tea is also available.

Moreover, you can make authentic tea. This may be your first time drinking authentic matcha. early! . That kind of speed is necessary (゚o゚;. Matcha is 540 yen. The inside is a beautiful green color and is finely whipped. It has a soft texture and a strong bitterness. This is real matcha (^^) I

Think it would have been great with some Japanese sweets. We came to the Honnoji Temple area. From here we walked along the Kamo River. We could see Kawazu cherry blossoms here, but they were scattered quite a bit.A group of ducks.Today ‘s video is I’ll end here.

There are still many places and shops in Kyoto that I don’t know about. I want to explore more (^^). Thank you for watching this far. See you again in the next video! .
