Roadside Station Miyajidake Scarecrow Village 2 Miyajidake Town, Amakusa City Description of Miyajidake Scarecrow Village. Miyajidake Town, Amakusa City is located in a quiet place located almost in the center of Amakusa Shimo Island, surrounded by small mountains and a beautiful rural landscape.

Along Prefectural Route 266, which traverses the town from north to south, there are “Roadside Station Miyajidake Scarecrow Village” and “Miyajidake Scarecrow Village” where you can see rare sights that cannot be seen anywhere else. The charm of Miyajidake Town is definitely the scarecrows. Approximately 600 scarecrows, more than the town’s population, will welcome you.

The roadside station is a renovated elementary school that was closed down and opened in March 2021, with scarecrows on display at all times. The scarecrow making activity that began 15 years ago has now evolved into the Scarecrow Festival, which is held every spring and has become a local tradition. The expressive scarecrow exudes the warmth and kindness of the hometown. This time, for part 2, I came to see the scarecrow whose costume had been changed.

We also went to the nearby gorge “Kamegafuchi”. It’s a short time, but please enjoy it. Today I am in Miyajidake Town, Amakusa City. Since the scarecrow’s costume has changed, I decided to take a video. Please enjoy. This is “Amabie”. A monster that prevents plagues in Kumamoto Prefecture.

It has become famous due to the influence of the new coronavirus. Dear Amabie, please calm down the coronavirus. I went to “Kamegafuchi” which was introduced on the panel at the entrance of the roadside station. It was apparently used as a playground for local children back when schools didn’t have swimming pools yet.
