【温泉旅館宿泊記】湯河原の客室露天風呂付き&美食宿 “懐石旅庵 阿しか里” で静かな癒しの大人の休日

This time, I came to Yugawara in Kanagawa Prefecture, located between Hakone and Atami. This is my first time coming to Yugawara! The JR station is also wonderful, giving you the feel of a hot spring town.

From there, drive towards the mountain for about 7 minutes. (There is also a free shuttle service from the station) This time’s accommodation is “Kaiseki Ryoan Ashikari” (ASHIKARI). You can see a nice pure Japanese-style building. I was very grateful that you came to pick me up even though it was raining.

It is a beautiful Sukiya-style building, located in the quiet mountains of 2,000 tsubo. The pure white noren curtains will enliven the mood of your stay. I’m looking forward to seeing what kind of room they will be in and what kind of food they will enjoy.

As I stepped through the noren curtain with high expectations, I was greeted even warmer. Everything you see from the entrance is beautiful. The pleasant scent of incense will instantly draw you into the atmosphere of this space. I’ll check in! My sister and I are here today♪

You can see the garden clearly from the large glass lobby. It lets in a lot of light from outside, making you feel bright and sunny even when it’s raining. The garden is truly magnificent, with various plants, large rocks, moss, and a pond.

We will have tea and rakugan, and write you an accommodation card. We were given detailed directions inside the facility. I’d like to take a walk later ♪ I’ll decide on dinner and breakfast times. You can choose fish and egg dishes for breakfast. I take a breather and head to my room.

This is the room. The room we will be staying in this time is a corner room called “SAGAMIJI”. excuse me for disturbing you. It’s so amazing that I can’t even comprehend it.

For a moment, it feels so open that you feel like there are no walls. The ceiling is very high with exposed beams.

“SAGAMIJI” is the largest Japanese-Western suite room with an open-air bath with natural hot spring water, newly built in 2022. It has an area of 100 square meters and can accommodate up to 6 people.

I looked at the photos beforehand, and I was surprised to see that the space was even more wonderful than the photos! First, let’s look at the view. It’s on the slope of a mountain, so it feels like you’re floating. Furthermore, plum blossoms are blooming right in front of me.

The cherry blossoms are about to bloom, and a beautiful sight will unfold right before your eyes. In the background are mountains and the city of Yugawara. I turned around and took in the whole room again. It’s beautiful from every angle. It lets in a lot of light and is very bright.

I’m curious about the open-air bath. It has a large deck and is very luxurious. It’s glass all the way to your feet, so you feel like you’re floating. When you sit down, you can see the plum blossoms at eye level, which is great. It is equipped with carefully selected furniture designed for comfort.

There are also sweets, which is nice. This is what the living and bed areas look like. This is flooring. A large sofa and a high-performance massage chair. There is a large smart TV on the wall. Wicker chairs are lined up outside.

When you sit, you can see a deep view of Yugawara. (It looks even more beautiful on sunny days!) There is a Yugawara plum grove nearby, with 4,000 red and white plum trees in full bloom. Yugawara is a nice place. The bed is made by “Sealy”. There are two 120cm wide and 200cm long.

You can also place futons on the tatami mats. There are plenty of outlets and USB ports around the bed, which is convenient. And there’s a closet space in the corner. There are enough hangers and coats. There is storage at the feet and various things are prepared. Slippers, basket bag.

I put my bath set in it and use it when I go to the public bath. This is what the inside of the drawer looks like. Two yukata, Samue-like pajamas, and tabi socks. (This is enough for one person.) The second yukata is a great way to change clothes. The camellia pattern is lovely.

There’s also a safe in the drawer♪ There’s also a yoga mat. Next, let’s take a look at this area. The minibar and room amenities are lined up here. It’s a glass door, so you can see what’s where at a glance.

They are lined up in an orderly manner. All items are of good quality. Speakers from the Swedish brand “SUdio”. Bermuda electric kettle. “caffitaly” coffee drip machine. There are various things lined up below. There are tea utensils here. For tea and coffee. For Japanese tea. There is also a glass on top.

It looks like some small items are stored next to it. Charging cable, nail clipper, accessory box. Extension cord and memo pad useful for large rooms. There are three types of organically grown, pesticide-free Japanese black tea on top of the refrigerator !

In addition, there are three types of Asikazato’s original mandarin orange and herb tea! You can take whatever is in the fridge for free♪ Ashikasato’s original Aoshima mandarin orange jelly was very delicious! Let’s take a look further inside. If you walk past the toilet and go to the back,

You will find a very bright and open bathroom. It’s so bright even in the rain! A washstand that feels the warmth of wood. There are two sinks. Plenty of power outlets and USB. The dryer is Panasonic.

A large mirror that reaches all the way to the ceiling. There are chairs so it’s easy to get ready. “MIKIMOTO COSMETICS” skin care set is available. There is also a seat pack, which is nice. There are two purses. There are toiletries inside. Each bag contains one serving. Bathrobe in a wisteria basket.

At the back is a shower room with a crow-lined roof. It’s bright, spacious, and stylish. There is a rain shower and hand shower. The shampoos are also from “MIKIMOTO COSMETICS”. Finally going to the open-air bath ♡ You can look forward to it. I want to get in early!

An open-air bath is located on the spacious deck space. The bathtub is lit up and looks stylish. You can enjoy the water directly flowing from the source of Yugawara, which has been loved for its soft hot springs since the Nara period. A simple alkaline spring that is good for the skin.

It has a great sense of openness. You can also block it with blinds. There is also a chair with an ottoman, so you can relax. The view from here is also good. On a clear day, you may be able to see even further into the cave! I’ll take a look around.

The design uses many mirrors to create a sense of openness. Return to the room and check the toilet one last time. Perfect with automatic opening/closing, washlet, tankless, and hand wash. An open, warm, and comfortable atmosphere. It’s a very nice room. liked it. A tablet is provided in the room, which is very convenient.

You can get various information from here. Drinks room service menu. You can also enjoy local products such as craft beer and tangerine juice. There is also information about the products in the store. Surrounding tourist information. I hope you can heal a lot in this wonderful room.

I would like to take a walk around the facility. Let’s start with a nice front door. This is what it looks like when you enter the door. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable. This is the lobby where I checked in. The trees will become greener from now on.

Asikari is an inn that welcomes babies and children, one of its charms is that you can stay there with peace of mind.

We have a variety of supplies to suit your age and age, and we also have a wide variety of baby food and kids’ menus. The staff are welcoming and will do their best to assist you.

If you choose a plan with a baby, you can cancel for free up to the day before. It looks like it would be a good place to take a break after traveling for three generations or raising children. There is a space like this in a corner of the lobby, where you

Can freely pick up magazines and newspapers. You can also enjoy DVDs and Blu-rays in your room. There is a coffee drip machine, so you can relax here. What particularly caught my attention was the abundance of flowers within the facility.

Various kinds of fresh flowers are displayed everywhere, making it a feast for the eyes. You will be guided through a long, straight hallway. There is a shop corner on the right side. You can see the wine cellar on the left. On the left is the restaurant, where you will have dinner and breakfast.

This is what the restaurant looks like. There are several spaces like this. In-room meals may be available depending on the room. You can see the garden from the large windows, and the furniture is of high quality and has a very nice atmosphere.

They seem to be particular about wine and sake, so I’m looking forward to dinner there. What kind of things are there in the shop corner? Shops at inns and hotels are full of local items, items related to the area, and items with good taste, making it fun to visit.

The book cover of the tatami shop in Yugawara is cute. There are many things unique to Yugawara and Asika-sato here as well. I’m curious about the flavored oil made by citrus farmers in Yugawara. Original herbal tea that was also available in the room. Stylish rice crackers from a rice cracker shop in Yugawara.

Yugawara mandarin orange jam from “Yugawara Onsen Okami no Kai”. Tangerine juice. Yugawara mandarin oranges are dense and delicious. Inside the hotel, there is “SPA Hydrangea” with such a wonderful setting. You can soothe your mind and body in the noble scent of sandalwood.

Proceed to the back and go to the area where the large bath is located. There are also beautiful flowers here. There is a rest area next to the public bath where you can view the garden. It’s a quiet mountain inn, and even in the rain it has a nice atmosphere.

There is a big pond here. It seems that there are many carp living in the pond. There is a refrigerator here, and you can have ice cream and other items for free. There are also drinks available and heart-warming hospitality. With special permission, I was able to photograph the inside of the public bath.

It’s also bright and open! There is no need to worry about line of sight, so the space is boldly large. There is an open-air bath in the front room, so it is spacious enough. This seems to be a slightly alkaline hot spring, just like the room.

The bathroom has a large mirror and three sinks. Skin care and amenities are available, so you don’t have to worry about coming without anything. There were many towels prepared in front of the public bath. Finally, let’s go to the bathroom! It has a great atmosphere and a nice bath!

The walls in the bathhouse are made of Komatsu stone from Manazuru. The small garden with lanterns and plants is also a nice accent. The washing area has a large mirror, a partition for each person, and the same shampoos as in the room, “MIKIMOTO.” Another large public bath looks like this.

The men’s and women’s baths change places during the night. It’s a little smaller than the previous bath, but it looks like it has a nice view. Amenities are also available here. This is what the bathroom looks like. You can enjoy the mountains outside. The moss garden with rocks in the foreground is lovely.

The source of Yugawara is gushing out. When it’s sunny, you can see the Hakone somma. The bath in your room is nice, but for a change of pace, it might be a good idea to come and take a bath here.

I was told that I would be able to see the other rooms, so I would like to share them with everyone♪ First is the room next to ours called “KATSURAGI”. It’s a 100 square meter room that was built at the same time as our room.

The interior is similar, but with a slight change in position, the outside view looks fresh. Both are luxuriously spacious and brand new. Here, tea utensils are lined up in a hanging cabinet. This structure also has a protruding structure, so you can enjoy the scenery from two sides.

What I liked most was this big cherry tree in front of me! During the cherry blossom season, I want to sit here and look at it all the time. The open-air bath was a little different from our room, and was designed like this, connected to the shower room.

This one has a retractable roof and can be fully opened. With the trees looming right in front of you, you will be surrounded by nature and will enjoy the best bathing experience. The next room is “TAMAGINU,” which is a standard room, but

It has a design that draws the eye outward, making it feel very spacious. This is said to be completed in 2021. The open-air bath here is also large and has a high ceiling, which is very nice.

There are rooms with various tastes, and it’s fun to choose. You’ll want to change your room and visit again and again. The last one is the semi-suite “HAGI” which was just renovated in 2023. It is 80 square meters, and there is a tatami mat in the middle.

This room can also accommodate up to 6 people. The large cherry tree outside the window is eye-catching. This is what the open-air bath looks like. Both the season of fresh green leaves and the season of autumn leaves look good.

I’m going to go back to my room and take a relaxing bath in the open-air bath until dinner time. The color of the sky changed, and the atmosphere of the room also changed. It was getting darker outside and it was time for dinner.

Since it was a kaiseki ryokan, I was really looking forward to the meal. We will guide you to the restaurant. At night, the restaurant is subtly lit up and looks very beautiful. First, choose a drink. I’m interested in Yugawara’s craft beer and Yugawara’s mandarin orange juice.

We also have Kanagawa’s local sake, Mikan Sake. We also have famous sake from all over the country. We have a variety of sake tasting sets available! I think I’ll try this. whiskey and shochu. I’m also interested in wines that complement kaiseki.

They have a variety of wines. I can’t decide between wine or sake. A fun menu that lets you feel the seasons has been released. The elaborate menu is arranged in a variety of bowls, little by little, and beautifully colored.

First of all, I have a glass of sparkling sake and toast with my sister. Sparkling with gas created by the power of nature. It’s not sweet and has a refreshing taste. Here is the menu. There is a message from the head chef on the back, which makes me happy.

Let’s taste each one one by one. Raw Karasumi on the back of the shrimp. Plum-shaped quail eggs are pickled in miso. Homemade salmon turnip sushi. I’m kind of happy because Akaumi Nezumi is commonly eaten in my hometown of Ishikawa Prefecture.

Everything is delicate, the ingredients are good, and it’s very delicious. The overall taste is gentle, and I can imagine the personality of the chef. Soup and rice called “Ryogi” to satisfy the munchies appeared. As soon as you open the lid, you can smell a very nice scent.

Is delicious. I can breathe a sigh of happiness. A sake set made from Junmai Daiginjo from Kanagawa Prefecture. When you line them up, you can clearly see the differences and it’s fun.

Sashimi has appeared. Scallops, tuna, botan shrimp, red sea bream. Mackerel is cooked on skewers, grilled over high heat, and then cooled in cold water using a cooking method called yakimomo. Enjoy with Himalayan rock salt and the chef’s homemade soy sauce. You can also eat the wasabi flowers.

Next is the gamecock hot pot. It also contains crab legs and fine shiitake mushrooms. The clear soup looks delicious. Heat it for a while and it will be enveloped in delicious steam and aroma. It’s heartwarming. The gentle flavor will fill your heart. A cute item has been released to match the bowl. Kenchin-yaki.

Makisen is a combination of finely chopped vegetables, tofu, and eggs. The meat is Western-style, which is good because it doesn’t fit into the box. The rare part of the seared Miyazaki beef is the best.

Moist and sweet meat. The wasabi carrot sauce is also interesting. It’s very delicious and makes the corners of your mouth turn up. Lastly, we had rice, miso soup, and pickled vegetables. We also had a variety of elaborate desserts, one by one!

It was a very satisfying dinner. Soak in a warm bath while feeling the night breeze. good night. good morning. The rain seems to have stopped, and I can see the outside more clearly than yesterday.

Both the plums and the birds that come to visit seem happy. I also take a bath in the open-air bath and get ready. I’m going out for breakfast. We’re heading to the same place for dinner.

This is a breakfast place. You can clearly see the fresh garden from the large windows, which is very refreshing. There are several dishes already on the table, and they all look delicious. The arrangement is also cute.

For the egg dishes I requested at check-in, I had a choice of egg-cooked rice (raw egg) and dashi rolls, so I ordered one of each. Red tuna sashimi has arrived. Freshly grilled fish also appeared. Warm miso soup and rice are brought out one after another.

The rice is from Akitakomachi. There are plenty of bowls available, and you can refill them. For fish, you can choose from open horse mackerel, open sea bream, or saikyo-yaki cod, and I chose my favorite, open horse mackerel.

This is a dashi rolled egg prepared by my sister. They say it has a perfect visual appearance, is moist, smooth, and exquisite. The miso soup is full of fresh clams and has a rich flavor. The fragrances are also elaborate.

The kinpira, kamaboko, wasabi pickles, grilled fish, and homemade aosa tsukudani were exquisite in both texture and flavor. Yogurt is served with granola. There are two types of salads, each with a different atmosphere. Red meat sashimi. I’m happy. This is a stew with a gentle taste.

Fragrant bonito flakes were also available. You can put it on rice or eat it as is. After-meal fun. There are also fruits and sweets. I’m happy to receive so much from this morning.

While bathing in the gentle morning light, you can relax and enjoy delicious food that has been made with a lot of time and effort. Now that I can see the garden clearly, I realize once again how wonderful it really is. A very quiet morning in Yugawara. It was a very satisfying breakfast time.

After that, we stopped by the public bath and it was time to leave. It was a room where you could enjoy a luxurious view that made you feel like you were on a stage in the air. The spacious open-air hot spring bath is wonderful.

We were able to enjoy the plum blossoms up close and even had a chance to see the cherry blossoms. The beautiful cherry blossoms are about to start blooming. The open-air bath in the room was so nice that I took it many times.

The bathing area was reserved for private use, perhaps because there was an open-air bath in the room, so we had a luxurious time. He came right away and took my luggage.

The rooms are large and can accommodate a large number of people, so next time I would like to bring my parents and all of us. Each room is different, so I’m looking forward to seeing which room I’ll choose next. The food was delicate, elaborate, and absolutely amazing.

I depart with my body and mind fully healed. “ASHIKARI” stands dignifiedly in the quiet mountains of Yugawara.I received a lot of warm hospitality and my heart is warm. Everything about it was kind and comfortable, and it was a place where you could feel surrounded by warmth.

I was really happy that they saw me off so politely until the end despite the cold weather. Thank you for watching until the end. Where should I go next? That’s it for Lily.
