See here for the first part of the France and Switzerland trip! This time I bring you the second part of our trip to France/Switzerland. ☺ We will take the 9:30am train from Basel to Bern, the capital of Switzerland! We have arrived at Bern! I’m going to leave my luggage at the hotel now.

The city is too nice to just walk around a little bit. Even in a hostel with double room and shared bathroom, it costs €100 per night for 2 people. Prices in Switzerland are crazy. 😵 We are going to go to Interlaken now! But first, let’s go and get some lunch!

We’ll save sightseeing in Bern for tomorrow. ☺ We’ll take out kebabs. It is 12.50 CHF per piece with a drink. This is too much for one person. lol Take a double-decker train to Interlaken The Alps can be seen in the distance

Interlaken, where we are heading now, is a city rich in nature with Alpine mountains and beautiful lakes! The weather is a little bit bad, but I’m going to enjoy it… About 1 hour from Bern, we arrive at Interlaken Ost station! Take bus 103 to the location of a certain drama

Iseltwald is the filming location for the Korean drama “Crash Landing on You”. This is that scene where he was playing the piano on the pier! By the way, there is a fee to enter the pier! They do good business for 5 CHF… lol

Bus back to Interlaken will be 1 hour later. So, … A leisurely stroll around the lake!!! Is it indeed cold on the lake even for swans? Back to Interlaken by bus Winter fur fluffy kitten, so cute…! Back to Interlaken It’s amazing to see snow mountains like this even in the city.

I’ve never seen anything like this in Portugal or Japan. All the mountains here are so high that if someone said to me, “It’s Mount Fuji,” I’d say, “Oh, nice!” Don’t forget the spirit of Japan! lol That’s a great snow mountain, all sharp! The church in town was unfortunately closed

On a clear day, the highest peak of the Alps, Jungfrau can be seen from this park. Probably around here! I couldn’t see Jungfrau on this day, but I took a picture anyway. ☺ And by the way, I imitated a Japanese comedian! Do you know guys?? lol

I’m about to get hungry, so I’m going to have dinner… Cheese fondue is one of the most popular foods in Switzerland. This menu comes with olives, pickles, potatoes, pineapple, bread, etc. It cost 31.90 CHF per person.

All-you-can-eat with refills of both cheese and ingredients! …I think it will be hard to eat all of them first… lol Look at this melted cheese! The rich taste is so delicious! And the cheese roasted at the bottom at the end! So good! ☺ Back to Bern, day 4 is over!

This day is for sightseeing in Bern! It’s raining, but let’s do some energetic sightseeing! Bern, the capital of Switzerland, is a city built on a small hill surrounded by the river Aare. The old town, with its beautiful medieval European townscape, is a World Heritage site.

Buses and streetcars are available for transportation within the city! If you stay at a hotel, you can get a transportation card for free. Bern means bear, and when the city was built in the 12th century, they named the city after the first animal they caught.

We came to see such a symbol of the city of Bern… I forgot that bears hibernate in the winter! lol See you in the spring. 🌸☺ Bern Minster in the center of the city Continuing from yesterday, this church here is also closed, so I cannot enter…😵 McDonald’s for lunch today

Sneak into McDonald’s for price survey! A Big Mac set costs 12.30 CFH Small in Switzerland is medium size in Japan! Price is double of Portugal and 3 times of Japan. 😵 Royal Double Cheeseburger & Double Big Mac In an expensive country, foodies order more expensive menus than usual… lol

Total 30.10CHF, crazy! lol We are now at Bernisches Historisches Museum! Here you can enjoy an exhibition about the history of the city of Bern The founder of Toblerone chocolate was born in Bern. The most important attraction is Einstein Museum. Einstein lived in Bern for three years from 1903 to 1905 for research

Here you can see exhibits about his life and achievements ◎ You can also enjoy the view of the city… I’m going to buy some food at the supermarket and eat it in my room this evening. The fifth day is safely over! Good night… We are now leaving Bern for Lyon, France!

4.5 hours trip on the Flixbus, which is always delayed. This view of Switzerland, I could look at it forever… Passing through the Swiss-French border Arrival in Lyon! We take the metro to our hotel. This is the last hotel of this trip!

It’s €130 per night for 2 people with breakfast. This is the best hotel among the ones we stayed during this trip! I could see the Rhone river from the balcony. By the way, this hotel has a lounge where you can spend 24 hours a day… Drinks and sweets are always available!

These snacks are also free in the evening. We will spend the last 2 nights here. Today is December 23rd, but we have an early Christmas dinner. Starters, main course and dessert for €31 Each can choose one of 4 dishes Cheers♪ Terrine of pork, veal and gibier

Tatin of pork leg and escargot (What is tatin!?) Main dish is salmon, this sauce is too good! Veal confit for my husband, the meat is so tender! We had dessert at the end of the meal and were very satisfied with our Christmas dinner. I’m going back to the hotel and relax…

We take a bus for 2 hours from Lyon to a town called Annecy We have arrived at Annecy~! I was told that in Europe, the city is deserted during Christmas because everyone stays at home with their families. But, the city of Annecy was very busy as you can see. ☺

I can see the mountains in the back. Let’s go see Lake Annecy, the clearest lake in Europe. Look at this clarity…! Many tourists from home and abroad come to Lake Annecy during the summer vacation season to enjoy the beauty of the lake. This swan is giving off a lot of charm.

The crystal clear beautiful lake refreshed my heart. ☺ We came to the Christmas market on the last day of the tour. All of them look delicious… Deep fried churros and lemon flavored crepes! Red and white hot wine And pretzels with lots of cheese! They were sticky and tasty. ☺

Leaving the Christmas market, walking around the city again. 👣 Doggie sitting in the driver’s seat, so cute! I grew up in an area where there are no high mountains, so I am excited to see mountains everywhere in the city. Here we are at the church in the old town.

Another way to enjoy stained glass. Lovely performance… Cafe time until bus time to go home I ordered for Christmas special flavored tea. The tea was accompanied by pear cake, delicious! I wanted to spend more time. ☺ I came back to Lyon On Christmas Eve, many people come to mass in the church

I was walking home to buy some dinner for the evening… I encountered the busiest person tonight..! He’s busy not only handing out gifts, but also greeting people! 😵 Finally, I have a chance to see his face..! Very friendly Santa Claus, I took his picture. ☺ Went to the supermarket, bought beer

Kebab shop that is definitely open on Christmas Eve. lol I would like to go back to the hotel and eat! I enjoyed it while watching M-1 Grand Prix.☺ Today is the last day! The breakfast at the hotel is delicious and the variety is great

I am happy to eat delicious food in the morning… I’m off to Lyon for sightseeing! I will take the metro and the cable car to the highest point in Lyon. Lyon, the second largest city in France Fourvière hill offers a panoramic view of the city.

We are now at Notre Dame Cathedral on the top of the hill. Once inside, the breathtakingly delicate, yet luxurious decorations are overwhelming. Beautiful mosaics on the wall There is a chapel in the basement of the church mentioned earlier, with a slightly different structure.

It is a very beautiful church, so please visit when you come to Lyon. ☺ The last meal is galette! Not raclette! I was confused because it was a galette on the menu called “raclette”. As usual, I ate a lot during this trip. ☺

I was happy to eat a lot of differrent delicious food… There are some trompe l’oeil paintings in Lyon. This mural depicts a person associated with Lyon Saint-Exupéry, the author of The Little Prince is there. This is the end of the France/Switzerland travel vlog. I hope you enjoyed it! ☺
