Breathtaking snowy scenery of Arakurayama Sengen Park

Hello. Today I came to Arakurayama Sengen Park. February 24, 2024, 7:40 AM. Snow fell yesterday and this morning a beautiful Fuji appeared. I hurried out of the house before the snow on the branches melted. There is ice in some places, so I walk carefully, watching my step.

The torii gate separates the sacred place where God is and the mundane world where we are. After passing through the torii gate, turn around at the lantern on the right. Take a picture of the torii gate and Mt. Fuji as if wearing a necklace. Good job!😚 It’s getting cloudy, so let’s move on.

I want to see the five-story pagoda and Mt! Today, the forecast is that once Mt. Fuji is hidden by clouds, it will not show its face again. It’s cherry blossoms, the five-story pagoda, and Mt! During cherry blossom season, this place is very crowded.

Thanks to SNS, this place has become very popular among foreign tourists. A place where one can see both Kyoto and Fuji at the same time. I don’t do any social networking at all except for this YouTube, but I realize the power of social networking is amazing!

It used to be a very quiet and ordinary park, but now it’s very popular. The Sakuya Hime staircase has 398 steps. If you are in good health, climb these stairs as it takes about 10 minutes. I took the gentle slope up so that my feet would not hurt.

Before this place became popular, you could drive up that road. The five-story pagoda is not a Buddhist temple, but a loyal cenotaph for the war dead. It is a memorial to the 1,055 civilians who died in the war. Made of reinforced concrete, it is different from the centuries-old five-story pagodas at shrines.

Beautiful snow on the branches. Walk through the rows of cherry trees with beautiful snowy branches to the observation deck. A few clouds are hanging over Mt. Fuji, but they are drifting away. I’m hoping they will disappear after this. The observation deck was completed two years ago.

Before the observation deck was built, tourists used to stand on the slope of the mountain and take pictures of the five-story pagoda and Mt. The observation deck was built by the city of Fujiyoshida. Last year during the fall foliage, they painted this walkway with moisture permeable paint.

The tourist authorities are working hard to solve a lot of problems. Yesterday, February 23, was Mt. Fuji Day, and unfortunately it snowed, but many events were held in various places. I went to the museum of Koyo Okada in Oshino, which was free only yesterday.

Koyo Okada was a photographer of Mt. Fuji who passed away about 50 years ago and is famous for his design on the 1,000 yen bill. At the photo exhibition, I saw for the first time the photograph on which the design of the 1,000-yen bill was based.

I also got to see the 100 year old camera he used. We can see Mt. Fuji where he said, “Fuji is my life.” I wonder how he would have photographed this Mt. Fuji from the newly built observation deck.

During cherry blossom season, people sometimes stand in line for more than an hour on the rows of cherry trees we just passed. Still a little cloud cover on Mt. Fuji, so let’s wait here, just a little while. Now, finally, the observation deck.

It is only 8:00 in the morning, but already, many tourists are coming. The nearest parking lot was almost full, with many rental cars parked there. Finally, the five-story pagoda with snow still on the roof came into view.

How do you like it? The cherry blossoms are nice, but the snowy scenery is also great. Photographers seem to wait for hours to capture the best moments, but I’m not good at waiting, I’m good at compromising 😅 Even I think this is quite a scenery.

Everyone is so engrossed in taking commemorative photos that it’s hard to move forward. It’s basically a one-way street except when it’s not crowded. Now it’s a rattle compared to when it was very crowded. I walk so as not to disturb other people’s memorial photos. Tourists here today are super lucky.

It is very rare to see such a beautiful Mt. Fuji is often hidden by clouds, so even if you come here to see the sights, you often can’t see Mt. As a local, I feel sorry when Mt. Fuji is hidden by clouds.

Anyone would be angry if they came to see Messi and he didn’t show up for the game. I plan to post some local scenery in the future, but to avoid anger, I’m going to shoot on a day when I can see Mt. Fuji😱

I am making full use of my live camera and weather app 😊 But that’s not the case when you’re a foreign tourist, planning months in advance. It all depends on luck. It’s nice to see so many tourists who seem to be enjoying themselves, even when they are unlucky.

Now let’s go down while looking at Mt. When we go down, let’s stop at the shrine. My feet hurt, so I will walk down this gentle driveway that you can see now instead of the stairs. In fact, I recommend walking down the stairs while looking at Mt.

But don’t worry, even if you take the driveway down, you can still see a great view of Mt. Fuji because it borders the stairs in places. This park is located halfway up Mt. Arakura-yama. Arakurayama Sengen Shrine is located below. The number of tourists is increasing.

Foreigners have come here to see Japaneseness, so please visit the shrine and experience Japaneseness. Don’t worry. No one will be offended if a foreigner visits the shrine. It’s fine, just like “Don’t worry, I’m wearing pants!” No one will be offended if you make a mistake in the manner of worship.

Worship is not about making wishes, but giving thanks. Today, I would just say, “Thank you for showing me Mt. There is a manner of doing the hand-watering basin, but not many Japanese do it as it is supposed to be done.

The most important thing is to put your money in the money box. This is important👍 I usually make a donation in coins, but sometimes I put a bill in the money box.

After standing in front of the money box, it is customary to say “Two bows, two claps, one bow,” but you don’t have to worry too much about that either. God is forgiving👌 How was the snowy landscape 🐤 See you in the next video😊

The day after the snowfall, I went to Arakurayama Sengen Park because there was a beautiful view of Mt.Fuji.
Fuji in the snow and the Chureito Pagoda is a solemn atmosphere.
Cherry blossoms are nice, but the snowy scenery was also great.

  1. Découvrir le Japon avec une si magnifique video est un vrai bonheur ❄ la majesté du mont Fuji est incomparable. J aimerais pouvoir écrire un poème … merci pour tout ce travail si bien réussi ….

  2. I have so much respect for you. Firstly I see pictures I never seen before, but yet I saw many gardens and temples of Japan by others. I see it with new eyes. The snow, Mt Fuji, the red of the Tori and remembrance building, the beautiful white branches…and all you are willing to teach me by your words.
    I am very great full.
I think you will grow to a big channel, I just hope you will remain yourself and not change to much for the sake of getting many subscribers or take the strange "advices" from YT.
Have a blessed day, sincerely Melissa 🌸💗🩷🌸💗🩷🫖🍵
