福島県伊達郡国見町から小坂峠を越えて宮城県白石市にある萬蔵稲荷神社を訪れました。そこには、100基以上の鳥居があり、別世界へ案内してくれます。
また、近くには国の天然記念物である材木岩があります。高さ100m、長さ200mほどの範囲に石英安山岩、角閃石に属する岩脈が続き、五角・六角・多角形など、さまざまな柱状節理を示し、材木を立て並べたように見えます。昔、飛騨工匠が一夜のうちに不動堂を立てようとしたが夏の夜は短く、もう一息のところで夜が明けてしまったので、材木片を河中に投じて去った。それが岩と化して材木岩となったという言い伝えがあるそうです。

Also nearby is Zaimokuiwa, a national natural monument. The rock is 100 m high and 200 m long, and is composed of quartzite and andesite and hornblende. In the past, a Hida craftsman tried to build Fudo Hall in a night, but the summer night was short and the dawn broke just as he was about to leave, so he threw a piece of timber into the river and left. The story goes that the piece of wood turned into a rock and became a lumber rock.
