Do you like schwarma uh yeah is yeah kind of and  you work at a schwarma shop Syrian Syrian all 100%   are Syrian it’s Arabic and Turkish at the same  time Arabic and Turkish okay so basically these  

Are the Turkish ones that one should be the your  feedback wow that’s good once the Kasa we will   place it here and start cooking ites crispy  cheese okay and are you from Malaysia or you   from Indonesia Indonesia okay trip under and then  he’s going to put the Rocks around it bakaba over

Here oh wow that looks amazing we use the  electricity to heat up the stones St Bo the   water inside what’s up guys I’m here in koala Lura  Malaysia this city has totally blown my mind and I  

Really want to share some of this with you guys  today right now I’m standing pretty close close   to the uh pavilion mall I think it’s actually  somewhere over here but I’m right in the middle  

Think I just thought oh yeah it’s right there  so if you look back down this street you can see   Pavilion through the through the alleyway um but  as I cross this intersection you can look around  

And you can see this actually reminds me of like a  mini shabuya Crossing cuz you have these diagonal   walkways and all the all the sides it’s actually  super cool there’s a lot of people here there’s  

Restaurants on all sides and uh EXC me oh man this  place is super super cool um I am honestly not   walking with any direction right now but no matter  where you go there’s always something to see here  

So I figured I’d just share a little bit of it  with you today I can hear just now on the other   side of the street a band just started playing  so I think that there’s like street performers  

And like stuff to see without even going into any  establishments look at this I just walked up to   the corner and there is a a she a restaurant um  hard rat house I think is what it’s called um but  

Yeah in my country they call it hookah um I think  there’s actually a few different names for it but   this is what it looks like and it’s crazy like  when have you ever seen something like this just  

Right in the middle of the city it feels like  I’m in Time Square in New York but it’s just   like right there super interesting all right I’m  going to keep walking through I see there’s a huge  

McDonald’s over here um there is a uh I don’t know  if it’s called the Metro or the sky train but you   have this huge thing that runs through the city  massive malls on all sides W what is that I think  

That looks like some kind of snack or something um  but yeah there’s like a ton of stuff to see here   literally right here there’s just a hostle up  this staircase Excuse Me O I just felt a couple  

Raindrops um we have a Watson’s that’s sort of  like just a a convenience store that they have   kind of throughout Asia is a motorbike one of my  favorite ways to get around this city is to ride  

These beams the only two that I’ve seen so far are  the purple one and the yellow one there’s a beam   and I think the other one’s called like trike or  something but all you need to do is install the  

App very quick a little sign up and put in your  credit card information and then you’re good to   go you can even do a group ride which will let  you scan multiple so if you’re with a friend  

Who doesn’t have the app um you can actually just  scan two three four of these bikes or uh scooters   I could just walk up and be like boom boom and  then we can all just hop on quickly and get a ride  

Going it’s super fun really efficient way to get  around the city and for very very cheap look what   I’m walking on right now so there’s a Habibi juice  Papa Kapa Kapa crisp oh look wow that looks like

Baklava oh wow and then over here we have oh  sorry look at that oh man that smells so good   wow and there’s another one right next to it h  Kebab that looks amazing did I get one I think  

I should get one yeah let’s try this out it  smells good I’m going to be honest with you   I’ve actually had several of these in the last  few days cuz they’re a really really delicious uh meal hello sir hello sir let’s see so there’s  a chicken shawarma beef Shawarma mix Shawarma  

Is the mix just uh those two okay can I do a  a regular please you like spicy in it I like   spicy yes very spicy very extra spicy yeah yeah  do you like schwarma uh yeah is that yeah kind  

Of and you work at a schwarma shop what’s  your favorite thing on the menu my favorite   thing is beef is beef okay all right so you  take beef mix yeah yeah I’ll stick with the mix uh cash how much is it 14 14 14 14

Yes here you go so 40 uh trying  to figure out what that is I think that’s about $8 us thank  you very much I know I just wait   over there thank you 40 rupia it’s about  five rupia per dollar so 40 works out to  

About $8 one second let me get this  in my wallet oh there’s no tables here this might end up being a a messy meal  because I don’t have have a good place to   set things down but man yeah let me  just like look around while I wait

Um as I walk away from like all the lights of the  city I can see there’s like an Alleyway there’s   a a street where it gets a little darker oh look  at this they’re selling something over here just  

Everywhere you go there’s always something to see  um I haven’t walked down a street and not found   something interesting to to see or to do so this  this city is seriously so amazing please take the meal oh look there’s even restaurants  up top here I wonder if that’s different  

Restaurants or the same thing gate  I don’t even know how to get up there all right oh no my seat just got taken  well I may have to walk while I eat unless I  

Can find another place to sit but look at these  meats this is the beef on the left checken on the right does that look good or what all right I think I should check my number number 56

Okay mix Sharma yeah but look at this city right  now I can see the Pavilion mall and I don’t know   if this happens all night or just right now  but you can see that it is sparkling up there  

Very pretty and with the moon right next to  it that’s actually a really cool picture um   a lot of the really big buildings here all have  lights at the top so once the sun goes down and  

The lights turn on It’s cool cuz you can walk  around the city and without looking at a map   you can kind of figure out about where you  are just cuz there’s so many really iconic  

Buildings to look around so I’m not that great  with the city I’ve only been here for a few days   but like for me if I see Pavilion I can kind of  tell oh that’s where that area of the city is um  

Let’s see honestly I don’t really know most  of these buildings yet but cut me some slack   I’ve only been here for a few days so I’m pretty  sure given some time I’ll start figuring things out 0 5 please all right 055 I’m  number 56 so I should be next

Yes uh we have actually all are fresh in  general and then you can you can own your   mix okay actually like uh whatever you like do  you have like a go-to that you like to make yes   okay what’s that yes like uh our recommendation  like we have some recommendation like something  

Like double beer is like two fruits orange  and pineapple something like kiwi kiwis kiwi   with pineapple kiwi strawberry kiwi mint mangoes  can go with strawberry drinking fruit that’s our   recommendation okay but you can if you’d like  to mix your own you can what is your personal  

Favorite um mine is orange lemon and strawberry  can be honest let’s do that to be honest yeah   where are you from man I’m Syrian you’re Syrian  oh wow I actually I’m I’m from America America

To the government and visa and permitted so any  anything they face so I can help in this section   that’s amazing man yes so like I I’ve been to  courts I’ve been to police stations like if if   someone get courted if someone usually usually  people the most of the like the common sense  

Happens the common problems it’s like I forgot  my passport at home I forgot my Visa at home so   he will be arrested for a wall so wow I need to  go I need to go to bring his documents and then

We do something like the whole street will do  the same but it’s very competitive so someone   will attract you and then the second day you’ll be  attract to the next okay something cuz people want  

To try each right exactly and then they keep uh  the quality up and up and up oh well that’s good   for the consumer then right cuz they’re they’re  getting competition and they’re getting the best   product yes exactly but I assume that orang  is probably the best one here right exactly  

Exactly and then the eldest actually the D Bar  over there is just uh a year ago I see a year   ago okay got you and then the sweet stall also  a year ago okay yeah so quite new okay we are

Right well this is perfect I wasn’t I didn’t even  um plan on getting a drink but I just happened to   run into the owner and I guess like a historical  figure basically um but now Ive got my delicious  

Smelling schwarma and my smoothie I keep finding  myself in situations lately where I’ll buy some   like a lot of food or snacks or something and  not have a drink or vice versa so I actually have  

Everything I need right now this is perfect see  just try to set this up right here okay let’s try   out this schwarma oh man it’s it’s so interesting  that um just like right in the middle of the city  

Center you have just like a street right here  um with just like a bunch of schwarma uh spots   I think he said it was from Serbia and that  like a bunch of these spots are all Serbian  

Places so interesting to find that just like  smack right in the middle of the city okay so   I’ve got my sauce too I know I like the sauce I  wish I remember what it’s called but this is the sauce oh I wish you guys could smell sometime in  

The future Maybe YouTube will have  a way to to share the smell with people oh and I asked for spicy so I can  already taste the spice here we go all right guys so good oh so the meat alone is super  bomb because they’re basically slow like  

Slow roasting it for a very long time and the  outside is constantly being trimmed away so   you’re always getting fresh cut pieces that  you know they haven’t been exposed too long   especially at a popular place like this  that’s constantly being shaved away the  

Cool thing about um the mix and actually I  don’t think that’s the case here but at a   lot of um former places you’ll have like lamb  beef chicken stacked up on top of each other   so all the juices and fats will just kind  of melt together and it’s a crazy flavor I  

Actually think here that they just cut off a  Bo put them in a thing together uh but still   it’s like crazy good there’s something green  in here and I actually don’t know what that   is if you guys know what that is please let  me know in the comments cuz um honestly I’d  

Like to know obviously but I actually would be  interested in trying to make this for myself at home wow that’s good and then I got my orangey smoothie oh there’s a bit of sourness to it but it’s like  it’s that like good sour like the like the just  

Stuff you get from biting into a fresh piece  of fruit it’s bomb take a couple more bites I can’t believe I just basically  met like a Serbian public figure   just walking through the street man have  you’ve never tried schwarma man I don’t

Go on so I’m back on the street and let’s  continue so wow yeah it was really cool to   learn about the history of these restaurants  I never would have known if I hadn’t talked   talk to him oh wow look there are more hookas  over here and look at that wow what is this  

It’s kunafa kunafa okay kunafa oh wow look at  that so there’s a bunch of different toppings   and look they’re all roasting over the fire  as they twist around what are the different   colors so that one is cheese that one’s chocolate  this is crispy cream chocolate crispy so it’s a  

Dessert no it’s basically the did CH oh my gosh  okay um do you sell the bu the whole thing or   by plate a whole plate oh man how much is one  so the cheese will start with 18 chocolate 18  

The cream 15 which is the best one I’ll go with  the Nutella chocolate with Nutella Nutella okay   all right all right I just ate a whole meal but I  have to try this so let’s I’ll take I’ll take one

Is 8:31 at night and I think that if I drink  this coffee I might have a hard time falling   asleep but I’m only going to be in Malaysia  so long I got to try it all right super cool this is so

Cool oh yeah so I mean like I’m literally  just on some Street in Malaysia and I feel   like when I walk around I see so much other  stuff that is like this it takes it’s taking   me like all evening just to explore one street  like I barely made around the corner place so  

Cool look at this they have a bunch of um  bakaba over here so many different kinds   look there’s like a little mixed mixed pack  that you can buy see that they have a I think   that’s an espresso machine in the back and  the place is called Papa canafa cool what is

That I’m pretty sure that’s my canaa that’s on  the the Flames over there and I’m hoping that   this time I’m able to find myself a table  to sit at because it’s going to be hard to  

Drink to eat and drink this when I’m sitting on  a bench like earlier as I look around I can see   that there’s a bunch of stuff on that oh look  there’s another canaa there I think that place   Damascus based on the picture I’m pretty sure  that’s a another schwarma place kunafa fingers  

I’m guessing that’s like kunafa but like a  mozzarella stick type form maybe probably   hopefully and then right behind me is the sky  Train I can see Pavilion sparkling up there   wolo and look at this place there’s lights all  over the place we’ve got a 7-Eleven right next  

To a KK miniart there’s a schwarma street sign  right there yeah I am just like in an area of   the city that is like I’m seeing there was Persian  turkey uh I’m trying to remember everything else  

They said um but yeah it’s like this is very  like a packed area with all of this type of stuff all right I think it might be ready flip what you from I’m from America and I think I asked him but  um are you from uh Malaysia are you  

From Turkey Syria Syria okay how long  have you been in Malaysia two years two   years very nice what’s your favorite part of  the country k k k is your favorite part what   do you like to do here for fun when you’re  not working uh just business just business

Make the move uh well so basically I left my job  a year ago and wanted to travel the world and my   plan was to go to a bunch of countries first one  I go to in Thailand meet my wife after a month we  

Weren’t uh we’re just dating at the time but we  met right away and now I’m married but then since   then I’ve continued to travel around and try to  see I still want to see the whole world so yeah  

You might meta better go here just just say don’t  tell don’t tell my wife that I love youone oh   looks like it’s ready oh wow that looks amazing  thank you so much thank you so have a good day

City is just so three-dimensional if you walk  through one Street you might see just all the   shops that are right there but there might  be a stairs going down up an elevator going   up oh thank you I lost my drink and they  brought it back to me everyone’s so nice  

Here but yeah it’s like every direction you  look there’s businesses and people and fun   stuff to see all right I’ve got my kunafa here I  hope I’m saying that correctly I do not know the   ingredients all I know is I have chocolate so  please let me know in the comments once again  

If you know what else is inside here we’ll  see if I can figure it out just from The Taste and I think I’m just going  to just go for it I don’t really   know how to eat this oh it’s crunchy  wow I wonder what all the like stringy  

There’s like a little it’s made up of all  these little stringy things oh my gosh I can’t see if I can get a piece wow look at that all right mhm wow so stringy okay so it’s super chocol choc y  I think that there’s some um pistachio on  

Top and then like chocolate sauce bomb but it’s  not like too sweet um you would think that cuz   there’s all this different chocolate stuff it  would be like overpowering but this is really good Nutella I remember he said Nutella okay yum oh my gosh I think I have my coffee coming over here

Now thank you very much sir friend all  right got my Turkish coffee here it’s   really really hot I just took a taste a  second ago but I think my camera died um   but yeah it’s really good it’s really um  really rich really thick like the flavor  

It tastes concentrated if that makes  sense I don’t know but it’s it’s really good so it’s really interesting to me  that they’re using like electricity and   rocks to cook it I wonder what impact that  has on the flavor versus like I don’t know  

Boiling it over a fire you know like  I don’t I don’t really know how that   will impact the taste if it does at all I I  feel like there’s a reason they do it that way one more more B my

Canapa I think I’m honestly just like in  Paradise right now all the food here I   can’t believe I found this little corner that  has all it I don’t think Middle Easterns redw   but there’s like a conglomerate of all of these  different countries all packed into this one  

Area and it’s bombing so because my battery  is low I think I’m not going to be able to   make it further down down the street so I think  I’ll wrap up this video right here um yeah this  

Country is amazing that’s like the only way I  can put this I love that I can walk around look   at the buildings walk into massive malls that are  super air conditioned and everything is beautiful   and huge so anyways um I am loving Malaysia  so far and I can’t wait to continue exploring

Wandering the streets of Kuala Lumpur has been so eventful. I found this small area that completely showcases Malaysia dense junction of culture. I randomly found Shawarma Street and it totally represents everything I’ve come to learn Malaysia represents… Unity. On a single street there’s a group of restaurants and businesses from Turkey, Syria, Saudi Arabia, and probably many others. Why are all these Middle Eastern shops all in one place? I don’t know why, but I’m so glad I came across this street. If you visit Malaysia, be sure to come by Kuala Lumpur’s delicious Shawarma Street for some amazing street food (especially shawarma and kunafa), culture, and very friendly people!
