日本の歴史ある街・名古屋の定番をめぐる旅 – 観光・グルメ・名古屋城・熱田神宮・あつた蓬莱軒 | 日本名古屋之旅 | Nagoya, Japan travel vlog
From Shin-Yokohama to Nagoya. Enjoy a leisurely and inexpensive Shinkansen trip using Plat Kodama. Arrived in Nagoya. The first place I visited was Nagoya Castle. Next to the entrance was a dining area called Kinshachi Yokocho. It is lined with restaurants and souvenir shops unique to Nagoya.
The stores selling miso cutlet, kishimen, hitsumabushi, and more are long-established and famous Nagoya gourmet restaurants. In the souvenir shop there is a golden shachihoko. Visit Nagoya Castle. Admission fee: 500 yen. Stunning. Tour the faithfully restored Honmaru Palace.
The Honmaru Palace was burnt down in an air raid during the war, but it has been faithfully restored to its gorgeous beauty from that time. Even though it is a restoration, the ceiling, transom, and sliding door paintings, created by modern master craftsmen to the utmost of their skill, are truly impressive.
After touring the castle, we headed to a tea shop on the grounds. Matcha Zenzai 550 yen Contains mochi and red bean paste inside matcha. Delicious matcha. And the shop has a nice atmosphere. People taking a walk around the castle grounds. Take the subway to your next destination.
Nagoya Castle Station → Atsuta Jingu Denmacho Station Meijo Line 19 minutes 270 yen. It is characterized by a large sacred area with abundant greenery. It is a highly prestigious shrine, second only to Ise Grand Shrine, that enshrines the Kusanagi no Tsurugi, one of the three sacred treasures.
I’m planning to go to Ise Jingu tomorrow, so I wanted to visit the shrine as well. The Shinmei-zukuri main shrine is very cool. Visit. In the precincts, the “Nobunaga Wall” built by Oda Nobunaga still remains as it was back then. It’s precious.
“Kokoro no Komichi” is located at the back of the main shrine. Ichinogozen Shrine, located along the way, is said to be the most powerful power spot. This is a sacred area where photography is prohibited, eating and drinking are prohibited, pets are not allowed, and talking on cell phones is prohibited.
After receiving the Goshuin seal, we leave the shrine. After visiting the shrine, we had dinner at a famous restaurant right in front of the shrine. There was a long line, but miraculously I was able to reserve a seat over the phone, so I didn’t have to wait.
Let’s start with beer and a la carte dish. Grilled eel (average) 3500 yen. Red bean liver 800 yen. Shirayaki is delicious! I like eating odorless eel with white soy sauce because you can directly feel the elegant taste. Umaki 1050 yen. And the main hitumabushi. First, divide the whole into four parts.
Leave the first cup as is without adding anything. it’s the best! The sauce is slightly burnt and the aroma is a nice accent. Top the second cup with condiments. For the third bowl, add more dashi soup.
When you pour dashi stock over the sweet and spicy sauce of the eel, you will be impressed by the different taste. Eat the fourth cup however you like. I also got some sake and got tipsy. I was very satisfied with the taste of this 140-year-old establishment, the birthplace of Hitsumabushi.
To the hotel today. Take advantage of Peach Airlines’ campaign and stay overnight at an exceptional price. Comfort double, non-smoking, 1 night without meals, 1,111 yen (1 person). A clean and well-located hotel. Sleep. Tomorrow I will go to Ise Grand Shrine in Mie Prefecture.
