First trip for just the couple after the birth of their daughter We came to the Loire, about an hour by train from Paris Lots of stands lined up in a row, kind of lively… They were having a Loire wine fair! We also bought wine glasses so we can taste the wines

This wine is made near Chenonceau Castle We tasted at several places and bought three Loire wines I found fixtures used in wine stores It is made of wine barrels and is somewhat stylish There was also an eating and drinking area, with stands of local food Lots of food I’ve never seen before…!

I bought some Rillons, a local dish of Tours, for lunch The pork was delicious, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside! People dancing in the warm sunshine Strolling the streets of Tours before heading to the hotel I love finding architecture and pretty things in the city

Tours is full of swallows and other birds, but I found a sparrow taking a break The old town of Tours is a sight to behold and perfect for a stroll Beautiful stained glass in the Cathedral too! The calm banks of the Loire River are a place of relaxation for the citizens

But in the past it has flooded to such high levels Tours city hall like a castle It looks like they are having an event inside the city hall, so I’m going to go in It’s not often you get to see the inside, so this was a good opportunity

Cab ride to the cave hotel Can you see the cliffs are houses…? Arrival at Les Hautes Roches, a 4-star hotel where we will stay the night This hotel also has guest rooms on the cliff at the back Wine production is very popular in this area. These caves are also used as wine caves.

Interesting construction from the entrance through the cave passageway Tour of the courtyard while waiting to check in There is a cave room in the cliff like this A peek at the stairs to the guest rooms, it’s cool and cool inside… The cliff is surprisingly fragile rock, unthinkable in Japan where there are earthquakes..!

Breakfast and dinner are served on this terrace Nice view of the Loire river We booked our room last minute. Unfortunately the cave type rooms were full… Our room is ready Let’s take a quick look! Not a cave type but nice and spacious room There was also a jacuzzi bath This is a toilet

There is another bathroom on the other side There is a shower stall here After dinner, I had planned to take a jacuzzi bath, But I was so full that I ended up just taking a shower

The hotel is far from the city of Tours, so we just stay overnight. We’ll be relaxing until dinner time. We decide to swim in the hotel pool It’s more humid and muggy in the Loire than in Paris It was a hot day even in May, so it was pleasant

It was refreshing to swim after a long time! Still light in daylight saving time, but time for dinner We chose a course with Loire ingredients The appetizer is foie gras from the Loire My main course was made with fish from the Loire The sky is getting pinker and pinker, beautiful!

My husband’s are asparagus from the Loire, in season now Boats flowing sideways, isn’t that weird…? It’s all dark and we’re having an after-dinner fromage Candlelight is nice We are full, even to dessert. Morning of the second day, another beautiful day! People picnicking on the opposite shore Breakfast on the same terrace as yesterday

It was relaxing and the perfect place to stay for a short trip from Paris! A walk along the Loire before we leave Birdsong is pleasant (but too bad the roadway is so close) Now a chorus of frogs..! I’ve never heard so many frogs croaking before! There was a guest house nearby

Was there a fire or something…? Interesting how many chimneys are out there There are still so many places in France that I don’t know about The Loire is close to Paris, so you should definitely visit! I will continue to share videos of my travels from time to time 🙂

今回は、昨年の5月に訪れたロワール旅行の様子をシェアします。トゥールで偶然開催されていたワイン祭りでロワールワインを試飲したり、初めてのトゥールの郷土料理を食べたりと楽しみました♪

その後、宿泊先のホテル「Les Hautes Roches」へ。ここは Relais & Châteaux の4つ星ホテルですが、フランスでも珍しい「洞窟ホテル」なんです！ほかにも、お部屋のルームツアーに屋外プール、ロワールの食材を使用したディナーの様子などをご紹介しています。
