My goodness! This is incredible! It went… Whoosh! Like that. It zooms by so quick, you can’t even catch it on camera in time. We’re all set. We’ve got to get a grip! It’s like a plane, but on the ground. Basically. Yamaguchi, Japan Good morning, people. It’s 9:30 in the morning.

We are at Shin Yamaguchi Station and today will be the first time we’ll be riding on the Shinkansen. Are you guys ready for the Shinkansen? Shinkansen? What is Shinkansen? The bullet train, man. The bullet train. No! Wow. Shinkansen. Here we go. This is the last trip we’re going to be doing together.

We’re starting our journey at Shin Yamaguchi Station and we’re going to go all the way to Hakata. We’re going to spend one night at Hakata, at Fukuoka, and they’re sadly leaving tomorrow to Colombia. So this is our last couple of days together. Shinkansen. Wow, man. Such a unique experience. Here we go.

It takes time. Please take your ticket. Thank you very much. Well, this is the receipt. This one. This one. And this one. We’re leaving at 11:06 AM. 11:06 AM. Okay. We arrive in Hakata at 12:04 PM. This one isn’t direct. It makes several stops.

The direct one gets you there in just 30 minutes. No, let’s stop along the way. Go ahead. Here we go. First time for everyone. I’ve been here five years and… Are you serious? Yeah, in the five years I’ve been living here, and even during my first visit to Japan in 2015

And again in 2016, I never hopped on the Shinkansen. First time for everyone. First time for everyone. Amazing! Colombia on Shinkansen. Colombians on Shinkansen. Unique experience. My first time in Japan in 2015. Yeah, I came here in the summer and with Kaito, we travel a lot, but we traveled on his motorbike,

There is a Sakura Shinkansen coming in about 5 minutes. It’s not our train but we’re going to check it out to see how fast it goes. Shinkansen coming. Is it coming? It’s coming! It has a really cool shape. Look at that. Check out that shape, dude! No way, dude! Wow, man!

Check out that shape, man! Impressive. Absolutely. Impressive, man. No way! Look at this, man! It’s incredible. Yeah. We’re starting to get emotional. Wow. It stops for less than a minute. Sakura, Kagoshima. Look at that. Wow, man. How incredible! Amazing! This is incredible!

The station is completely deserted now and there were dozens of people here. The bell rang, the doors closed, and the train took off. It all happened in less than a minute. It all goes by the clock. Literally. Oh my God. No chance of the train waiting for you. No way!

The bullet train was here for less than a minute. I doubt this system would work in Colombia. Everyone would be running around all the time. This one is super long. I’m counting 16 cars on this train. 16? I’m counting 16 cars. Pretty long. Twice the size. The previous one only had 8 cars.

Twice the size. I’m in shock! My goodness! Did you take that? Yes. Did you record that? My goodness! This is incredible! Incredible! I can’t believe this! We’re currently on the fastest mode of transportation in the world. We saw it with our own eyes! It went… Whoosh! Like that. My goodness!

I was totally frozen! Pao, how does it feel to ride on the fastest mode of transportation on Earth? I’m freaking out from what I just saw. I have no idea what I’m getting into. This is a unique experience! It goes way too fast. Way too fast.

Guys, how fast do you think the trains go? No, no. I read something, but it slipped my mind. It should be more than… Formula 1 cars hit speeds of 380 km/h with the accelerator down. These trains are faster. They might even hit 500 km/h. No. No? That’s the goal for 2027. 500 km/h.

500 km/h? That’s the target, but currently averaging around 300 km/h. Around 300 km/h. It’s like a Formula 1 car with the accelerator pressed down. Yeah. A Formula 1 car racing down a straight road. They currently max out at 300 km/h. There have been no accidents so far. Yeah, none.

In the 50-60 years of the bullet train being in operation, there has never been a single accident. Can you believe it? Incredible. Incredible. Amazing. Absolute safety. My heart is still racing. It caught me by surprise. That train zoomed by at full speed. It makes sense now why there’s vibration at the station. Incredible!

Incredible! I got scared and powered off my phone. Did you record it? I turned it off. You turned it off! It zooms by so quick, you can’t even catch it on camera in time. My goodness! Leave your phone ready. I was prepared, and when it came, I just froze. I just froze.

This is just incredible, man. You’ve got to push. No. I had to pull. There’s no button to open this. This waiting room is better than the one for regular trains. It’s warm in here. I can easily record from here. I won’t be pushed by the train going by.

You won’t be able to see it coming. We’re all set. We’ve got to get a grip! We need to hold onto something because the wind and vibration are strong when the train passes by. I couldn’t stay where Ori is. Get ready. These two are going wild here.

Imagine if I had gone for that sake. Sake. I did it! I did it! You did it? You recorded it? We got it on tape. Yeah? You recorded it? Kaito is not coming with us today on the Shinkansen, but he’s driving to Fukuoka.

And I just got to call him to tell him how crazy this is. Kaito has been on the Shinkansen a couple of times now. Hello? Hello? This is nuts, Boo. Hold on. I can’t hear you. Hello? Can you hear me? Now yes. This is absolutely nuts. What’s nuts? It’s super fast.

It’s super fast. It goes ‘whoosh’ as it passes by the station. For real. Jesus Christ, man! This is incredible! What’s really interesting is that once you’re here on the platform, you cannot feel the vibration. But when we were down there buying the tickets, it literally shaked a lot, the building. Yeah.

Wasn’t this one faster? Did you notice that sound? It was different, wasn’t it? Yes. That one was a long train. It made a different noise, and I think it was faster. Yeah, I believe it was faster. My goodness, man! You literally do like this. Whoosh. Like that, man. How cool.

Usually, the world moves at a slow pace, but this is more like whoosh! Our train will be here in 5 minutes. 5 minutes. To Hakata. Yes! Hakata. Shin Yamaguchi – Hakata. Okay. Let’s get on this beast. Let’s get on this bullet train! Here it comes. Is this our train? Yes.

Wow. Look how nice! Look at that. Pretty nice. Wow. This train’s got some serious aerodynamic vibes. Car number 4. Spot on. It parks right where it’s supposed to. Let’s go this way. Here we go. Let’s go. Oh my goodness. Go ahead. Here we go. Car number 4, seat 18.

You guys can sit here. Right here. I’ll be seating here. There’s a bottle holder. You can charge your gadgets here, and put up to 10kg here. There’s a hook here for hanging clothes. A hook. There’s a curtain too. How cool. You can also push your seat back.

There’s not a single piece of paper or trash on the ground. I don’t know how they do it. There’s free wifi on the Shinkansen. There’s free wifi? I haven’t tried this. These seats are pretty comfy, aren’t they? Very comfy. I wish the plane seats were as comfortable on the way back home.

A Shinkansen to go back home. The Japanese airline was good. The ANA flight was really nice. There’s a lot of leg room on this Shinkansen. We have a little table here. Very nice. Nice big window. And very comfortable chairs. Very, very comfortable. It shaked us up. It did.

It gave us a good shake, didn’t it? Oh my God. When the train passes by, it really shakes a lot, this Shinkansen. Here we go. It started moving. We were stopped, and right next to us, this bullet train zoomed by at over 300 km/h, shaking us up big time! It was impressive.

It gave us a good shake! We’re leaving Yamaguchi. We’re leaving Yamaguchi. The speed is picking up. Yes, it’s picking up. Absolutely. It starts off slow when leaving the station, but now it’s speeding up. This is going fast you guys. You don’t hear a lot of noise, though.

When you get on the plane, there’s a lot of background noise, but not on the Shinkansen. Now it’s really hauling! It’s really hauling, guys! We are in wagon number four and there are toilets in wagon number 3 and number 5 as well. There seems to be some trash cans here. Front or back?

Front? Let’s go. Let’s go front. You don’t even feel the movement of the train when walking here. Oh, it’s an automatic door. Automatic. Don’t open that door, please. Don’t open that door. No way. In the tunnel right now. It’s going up top speed now. Yeah, top speed.

We’re in a tunnel right now and any time we’ll be going out of this tunnel. Don’t touch any button, Ori. Make sure this door doesn’t open. Okay. You have to look far away though. To be able to watch the countryside. We’ve got here a trash can for all burnable waste.

And we got one for cans and bottles. We got another window here. This thing that I’ve got no idea what it is for. It’s closed right now. This is where the bathrooms are. We got one here, another one here. One for a gentleman only here. And a sink and a mirror over here.

It kind of stinks a little bit here. Oh, there’s another bathroom here. This is a different wagon. And we have three seats here and two on the right. The one we’re at it has two on the left and two on the right, right? Number four, yes. This is number three right now.

We’ve just arrived in Shimonoseki and guys, from Yamaguchi to Shimonoseki, it takes an hour and a half. In Shinkansen, 20 minutes. 20 minutes! Man! 20 minutes! That was fast. 20 minutes with a stop in the middle, right? With “Asa”. “Asa” stop. Yeah, we stopped at “Asa”. Wow. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. 20 minutes!

20 minutes, man! That’s fast. It’s incredible! Don’t get off here. No man, I can’t get off here. Who knows how I’d even get to Fukuoka! We’ve made it to Kyushu. We’re not longer in Japan’s main island. We’ve crossed to… We’ve crossed to the other island? We’ve crossed to Kyushu. Already?

So, that’s one island, and this is another one, yeah? We’ve crossed already. The Shinkansen went across here to the other island. Where are we now? We’re right here. Kokura. This is the final stop before arriving in Hakata. Yes, Kokura. This is the third station we’re stopping at.

We’ve stopped at Asa, Shin Shimonoseki and Kokura. And then towards Hakata. We’re almost there. We’ll be arriving in Hakata in about 2 minutes. It’s the end of the journey. It was about 50 minutes long, but it went like this. When I look out the window, it feels like being on a plane

Because the views zip by so quickly, just like on a flight. It’s like a plane on the ground. Everything whizzes by so fast. You could say that. I don’t know how to describe this. You gotta look far away, ‘cause if you focus up close, it makes you dizzy. Everything passes by super fast.

That’s why you gotta look afar to really take in the landscape. We’ve been in this tunnel for I don’t know how long. And at this speed, it’s kilometers of tunnel passing by. Literally kilometers. Absolutely. We’re finally out. We’re out. This is just incredible. Arriving in Hakata. We made it.

Where should I go, Ori? Just hop off before the doors close! We made it to Fukuoka, guys. We’re in Fukuoka. First part of the trip back to Colombia is done. Yeah, first one’s done. What a nice souvenir. I asked the guy if we could keep the tickets, and he said yes. Great souvenir.

I’ll keep it in my travel notebook. What a unique trip! These two really wanted this bread. I’m gonna eat 1, 2, 3 desserts! That’s impossible. Japanese sausage. Guys, it’s kinda tough hanging onto these breads. I’m trying not to eat them until we get to the register. I don’t know what to try first!

Everything looks delicious! It’s honestly hard not to… What a great bakery. My gosh. That’s a big bag. It is. They’ve already started eating. I’ll give you yours. Grossi’s got tomato sauce on his mouth. So how was it? Shinkansen. Man, it’s mind blowing! I mean, I actually got scared!

We were on the platform first, you know? We’re just waiting for these bullet trains to go by and a couple went by and we couldn’t even catch them on camera. They went so fast. We really had to set up the cameras and get ready because they literally they pass Whoosh. Like that.

So finally we caught on camera one going by real fast. It felt, literally, like I’m traveling in an airplane on land. Yes. I had the feeling I was inside the cabin of an airplane. As I was looking outside, I was watching this landscape going by, you know,

And literally I felt like I was in an airplane cabin. Kaito was just asking us if we managed to turn the seat around so that we were like more in a group, you know? And we saw a pedal. I mean, I remember seeing a pedal on the side of the seat.

But I didn’t know we can do that. So I guess we’ll have to… You know, there’s something we have to leave on for next time. That’s true. Yeah, that will be for the next one. For the next Shinkansen ride. We’ve made it to Fukuoka. Fukuoka. What did you guys think of the Shinkansen?
