🚌 100년만에 개방! 길 전체가 국가지정문화재인 ’10km’ 옛 주막길 트레킹 코스 | 📸 대중교통 당일치기 여행 | Ancient Trekking Course in KOREA

Hello? Today I’m going to catch the first bus early in the morning. This is ‘Gangbyeon Station’ on Subway Line 2. It’s been a while since I came to ‘Dong Seoul Terminal’. This place is always crowded with travelers even early on weekends. Let’s go now!

I think I fell asleep for a moment, but before I knew it, it was brighter outside 🙂 It’s a cool view just to look at. Approximately two and a half hours from ‘Dong Seoul Terminal’ We arrived at ‘Hoenggye Terminal’ in Gangwon-do. I will transfer directly to the city bus from here.

It would be perfect to have breakfast near here and take the 10:10 bus (9:00 / 10:10 / 11:20 / 14:00) The area around the ‘Hoenggye’ terminal is quite busy. There is also a large Hanaro Mart right next to it.

If you go to the left of the terminal, there are a lot of shops. No need to worry about meals 🙂 This place is impressive with two very large trees.. It was a police box? ^^: There are many restaurants around the large roundabout.

I was craving kalguksu for the first time in a while, so I ate it with potato pancakes. There was too much, so I wrapped the rest (for snacks). I took bus number 440 from the terminal at 10:10. Departure time is very accurate

After running for about 5 minutes, the surrounding area turns into a winter wonderland 🙂 Of course, the scenery in Gangwon-do in winter is special, right? Thanks to the snow that fell yesterday, the whole world is white. I think this might be the last time I see snow this winter.

It took about 10 minutes by bus to arrive at the last stop. This is ‘Daegwallyeong Village Rest Area’ It’s a rest area on the old ‘Yeongdong Expressway’, right? On snowy days, this place is always crowded with hikers. Even if you’re a little late, it won’t be easy to park, right?

Today I wore crampons and spats. It looks like there was quite a bit of snow 🙂 First, let’s start by heading to the right of the rest area (looking towards Daegwallyeong National Preceptor Seonghwangsa Temple). This name may be familiar to you because it goes to the famous ‘Seonjaryeong’.

I will introduce another course today 🙂 Photo spots have been created here and there with the famous wind power generator in the distance. Thanks to the white snow, it’s pure white wherever you look! Continue walking following the signpost to ‘National Preceptor Seonghwangdang’ The slope is gentle so it is easy.

There are many people who came to hike today. Just looking at it, it looks like there’s about 1m piled up. It seems like there is really no need to see snow this year. The pretty trees look like Christmas trees, right? It’s so pretty that I keep stopping.

If you walk up a bit, you will reach the relay station three-way intersection. You can go left from here. There are many people who come here who always bring a sled, right? This is the ‘National Preceptor Seonghwangdang’ three-way intersection. There is a famous ‘Seonghwangdang’, and sometimes you can see actual exorcism being performed.

There is a hiking trail to the right of the three-way intersection that goes up the old road. Today’s trek begins here As I was going up the stairs, there was so much snow that the stairs themselves were gone 🙂 This course is different from the crowded ‘Seonjaryeong’ course.

You can have a very quiet and quiet trek. I highly recommend it to people who like to walk quietly alone like me. The hiking trail was paved by someone early in the morning. I was able to walk without difficulty (Thank you!) It’s like a scene from a fairy tale, right?

I feel reassured because I can see the mountaineering club ribbon here and there 🙂 If you go up a little, you will come across another hiking trail. This is where you can see the KT relay tower. If you turn left from here, you will find the road to the famous ‘Seonjaryeong’.

But we’re going to cross the road and go to a place called ‘Banjeong’ There are very few people who take this course. There is a sign where you can collect and tie mountaineering club ribbons. It’s a great idea, right? It looks like at least 30cm of new snow piled up yesterday.

It’s a good thing I wore spats beforehand. From here, it’s all downhill. Very quiet and good for a walk Someone worked hard to carve out a trail early in the morning. People following behind have become more comfortable. The road is single and well marked with signs everywhere.

You don’t have to worry about getting lost. The surrounding area is literally a winter wonderland. It really refreshes my eyes There were blue and red ribbons tied in the middle, so it was very visible even in the snow. It’s my first time here, but it was very easy to find my way.

Looking down the cliff, I can feel that this place is quite high. So the fence is well installed. Seeing this bench buried in snow makes me realize how much snow there is. It looks like it’s piled up at least 1m, right? It’s not snowing right now, but it looks like it’s snowing

As the snow piled up on the trees falls. There are many places with V-shaped valleys like this. I get a cozy feeling when I pass by a place like this. Snowflakes are in full bloom here and there This place is called the ‘first aid shelter’.

If you look behind the bench, there is a small first aid kit. They say that if you need it, you can call them and they will give you the password. This is great, right? There are many signs with good words written on them. It was fun to read and go down.

A road passes under the first aid kit shelter. The trekking course continues across this road. If you cross the crosswalk slightly above, there is a clean restroom here. It is said that food trucks come here sometimes. They sold coffee and fish cakes 🙂 The name of this place is ‘Banjeong’.

‘Banjeong’ means a position about half way up when climbing ‘Daegwallyeong’. And there was an old tavern down here. For travelers crossing dangerous passes It is said that it was a tavern built by an individual using his wealth.

They say that if the weather is good, you can see downtown Gangneung and the sea from here. Unfortunately there is no view today. The road continues downward after passing the ‘Daegwallyeong Old Road’ marker here. The slope in this section is quite steep, so be careful going down.

Come to think of it, I am crossing Daegwallyeong on foot today! If you go a little further, there is a painting of ‘Daegwallyeong’ by ‘Kim Hong-do’. The old Daegwallyeong road is expressed very well in the picture, right? There were so many interesting signs on this course that I didn’t get bored.

As you go down, the tree becomes thicker. There were footprints off the road so I followed them. This hidden monument is called ‘Lee Byeong-hwa’s Yu-Hye-Bul-Mang-Eun Monument’. It is said that ‘Lee Byeong-hwa’ is the person who built the tavern I described earlier with his own money.

It is said that this monument was later built here by peddlers to express their gratitude. An individual made a tavern that should have been built by the country. What an amazing person! If you pass the monument and go down a little, you can hear the sound of a car loudly.

The wide road you see below is the current ‘Yeongdong Expressway’. When I always drive by, I pass through the long Daegwallyeong Tunnel and it’s right below 🙂 This sign also stands out. This is the poem written by ‘Shin Saimdang’. ‘Shin Saimdang’s’ home was ‘Gangneung’.

This is a poem about the feeling of leaving behind a single mother and going to Seoul. Was young ‘Yulgok Yi-i’ also there? This is Daegwallyeong Rest Area. There is a large deck and table, and it was perfect for a quick rest. If you go down, the road is better maintained.

This tree looks really amazing, right? Branches rise vertically in the middle of a horizontal tree. Appreciating the amazing trees It’s another pleasure This is my heart towards my subscribers ^^ ♡ As you go down the valley road surrounded by dense pine trees, The Wish Stone Tower rest area appears.

When times are tough, a nice resting place always appears. But doesn’t this stone pagoda really feel like the hand of a craftsman? I stacked it up very carefully, but it didn’t collapse, which is really strange 🙂 Continue down through the red pine forest.

As I was going downhill, I suddenly heard the sound of water. This is ‘Daegwallyeong Valley’ It’s hard to see because there’s a lot of snow, but the sound of the rushing water is very refreshing. When you see the water flowing under the small bridge, it seems like spring is not far away, right?

From here, you will go down along the valley on the right, listening to the sound of water. It’s a stone pagoda with multiple wishes. I made a wish on a cute little baby stone pagoda 🙂 Looking at the waterfall pouring down from the mountain,

I guess in just a few weeks this place will be full of sprouts too, right? The water in the valley is so clear that I would definitely have dipped my feet in it if it were summer. After walking a little further, a bamboo forest suddenly appears.

After passing the stone tower, you will see a large square. ah! There is a thatched house This is the site of the old ‘Daegwallyeong Tavern’. Now that it has been nicely restored, anyone can relax and rest comfortably. Is there a watermill too? There is a reproduction inside the tavern.

Did you put up a partition to separate the nobles from the commoners? There is also a large pavilion and table, perfect for having a snack, right? The surrounding scenery was also very nice. Of course, cooking using fire is not allowed, but lunch boxes and snacks are okay.

I ate cup ramen and the potato pancake I packed for breakfast. I don’t know how disappointing it was that I forgot to bring mixed coffee. We rested for about 30 minutes while admiring the beautiful scenery and then set off again. After passing the tavern, the course is now flat.

Follow the signs towards ‘Haje Civil Services’. really! There was good explanation of various trees throughout the course. This is my first time seeing ‘Oak Oak’ and its thick bark is truly amazing. There are many wonderful fairy soups throughout the valley. ah! I think I would have jumped right in in the summer.

The water is so clear, isn’t it? The lower course was very nice as it had a mix of deck road and valley road. Did someone make a snowman? It looked a little plain, so I made the nose and hands… I’m a little scared ㅜㅜ

This place feels like walking down ‘Heulrimgol of Seoraksan Mountain.’ Now the mountain path has ended and we have entered the village. It took about 3 hours to get here. There is a spaceship restroom at the entrance to the village. If you look inside the bathroom, it looks like a real spaceship, right?

It was amazing There are many supermarkets and pensions around here. ‘Daegwallyeong Healing Forest’ is directly connected to the right of the pension entrance. If you have time to spare, it would be a good idea to visit here at least once. Since you’ve come this far, why not take a look?

It is a national ‘healing forest’ and admission is free. Looking at the signboard, it is quite large. If I wanted to see it all, it would take me all day just to see it all. First, I decided to look at a few places near the entrance.

There are different themes for each course number, so it would be fun to choose one. I will come back here next time and take a closer look. I walk down the main road again. There is a three-way intersection with a white cafe on the right. Just go up the right side road.

This is a mountain road leading up to a cafe. If you go down a little further, you will see a small bridge. There’s a big rock on the left side of the bridge? There is a large Chinese character written on the rock that reads ‘Yeonghae Clan Sejang-dong’.

It is said to be a place where the ‘Yeonghae Lee clan’ gathered and lived. It’s about 3km from the tavern where we had a snack to here. When you come down the hill, you will see a large parking lot. Some people park here and climb backwards.

Of course, there will be a lot of uphill climbs. Finally, we arrived at the end of the ‘Daegwallyeong Old Road’ It took about 4 and a half hours including breaks. At the last stop is the ‘Daegwallyeong Museum’. If you have time, wouldn’t it be nice to visit here too? (Admission fee 1,000 won)

There is a bus stop right in front of the museum. Don’t get on here, but get on at the small stop across the street. There aren’t many buses, but the 3:20 bus was perfect. Please note that the bus location is displayed in real time on the (Kakao) Bus app.

Depending on the bus schedule, the bus stop may be here. They say it could be ‘opposite’. However, the bus arrival time is almost accurate. I take a small town bus and run to the last stop. The Gangneung village bus is called the ‘masil bus’.

It took about 40 minutes to arrive at the KTX parking lot. It’s exactly 4 o’clock when I arrive at Gangneung Station. There are a lot of restaurants near Gangneung Station, so I had an early dinner. If you have extra train time, wouldn’t it be nice to do some more sightseeing?

I took the 4:40 train The course introduced today is a course that involves walking over the ‘Daegwallyeong Old Road’ in Gangwon-do. Recommended for those who don’t like crowded mountains. I will summarize the entire course at the end of the video. Thank you for watching today!
