If a storm comes quick or you got   a tornado warning coming you don’t have time to  hook everything up you can’t really hook up your   car before the storm gets here and still be in  your campsite you’d have to pull out hook up a  

Lot of people might say you know that’s what  insurance is for but when we’re in that kind   of a situation we still worry about our things  we don’t we have you know sentimental things a   lot of stuff that we don’t want to worry about  we’re smaller so we can go drive somewhere in  

Maybe a hidden area that’s uh kind of protected  many of you that come to tto know this place Yo Wash A lot of people do their laundry here just up the  road right off uh right on 192 here so those high  

Winds hopefully that building will help block  it and we have to do laundry tonight so as soon   as that rain stops then we’re going to go in  and do our laundry made us some dinner right   here something quick that we didn’t have to  do much cooking about these southwest chicken  

Creation made some chicken tacos all right  we’re going to ride this storm out hopefully   get some laundry done later and hopefully call  today after a couple weeks staying at Thousand   Trails Orlando it was time to make our way to  the 2024 Florida RV Super Show in Tampa Florida

We took a few days off to spend some much needed  time with friends and browse some RVs on day one the heck were you doing in there p this is called Pat pooping position then it was time to get ready  for the Gretch RV owner’s appreciation  

Dinner so we drove over to a nearby truck  stop where they provide your fresh towels   washcloths bath mat and a freshly cleaned  shower room after every use but yet they   do charge anywhere from $14 to $17 and  allow two people to share for that same  

Price driver ID 138 so we’re looking up here  they have not assigned us a shower [Music] yet then on our last day we had the privilege of  meeting many of you during our meet and greet  

At the Gretch RV Booth then it was time to start  finalizing our plans of our long trip heading west   so this is how we like to try to plan our trips  I’m throwing in just places that we think of that  

We’ve never been to uh suggestions and everything  and I just throw it in trip wizard to uh later in   the year to go to if we don’t make it then we  just come in here and delete them and then uh  

We can arrange these the way we want to like  right now if I go down the list we can arrange   these in a certain order by moving these around  like this if we wanted to go here and then there  

See that doesn’t make sense to go there to there  so we wanted to stick Capital Reef in the middle   there put it right there so we’d want to go that  way that way and then if we’re down in this area  

Say and we want to head this way then we just  reverse them but you get the picture you just move   them around just go ahead and put things all over  so that you don’t forget about them and they’re  

Already on the map you can make notes but it’s  easier just to have them on here and if you can’t   do it you just easily come come in here and delete  them but you can arrange these as you’re traveling  

And uh you know we might have things up in here it  just depends on how things go throughout the year   and what we have time for or before we head back  to visit family like we usually do in Iowa this is  

The last day Sunday and we’re going to head out  today we’re not going into the show we’re going   to stop and see some friends Dave and Kim and  then we’re going to probably Boondock our way  

Mostly out west we’re going to stop in uh Texas  doing a meet and greet at the RV show in Dallas [Music] Texas [Music] you ready to get back on the road I  think so this seems like it’s been forever   doesn’t it it does we’re going to swing  by the dump station just right over here [Music] [Music] yeah and you’re always in such a [Music]  rush would your life FL from the ster

Oh [Music] o you got it but all alone and you’re always staring at your  phone you need another great [Music] Rel   we all need a turn and leave oh baby  this time will be gone forever never  

In a laop will you see us back here again  so come before it’s too late hurry up cuz   I can’t wait let’s put on our an we’ll  be singing All Night Long all night long going to stop for a couple hours and see  our friends Dave and Kim haven’t seen him for  

A long time too many fishes in the Stream m theou  broken well we had a really nice visit we did it’s   been I can’t believe it’s been 2 years since  we’ve seen them last yeah that is crazy time  

Flies that’s for sure but now we’re going to  try to drive a few hours every night kind of   make our way to our final destination we’ve got  just about 3 hours exactly to go we’re going to   stop in Tallahassee at Cracker Barrel and  then uh then we’ll start making our way

West kind of drive two or three hours every night  and then um we already have the reservation at   Henderson State Park since Mark and Sue is not  going to be there we might as well change that  

There’s really no reason cuz the weather’s not  going to be like only going to be in the 60s   right well it’s it’s not that it’s basically  supposed to rain the whole time we going to  

Be there so it seems like it it doesn’t matter  when we go to Dustin it is always crappy weather   what is it with that I don’t know we’ve never  been there when it’s we never really been able  

To enjoy the beach I know but um yeah so we’ll  we’ll change that we’ll see see how work day   goes tomorrow what time we get off and then and  maybe we’ll just do one night there and empty   our tanks and just refill and everything  and then uh what happened there I’m not

Sure and then uh no reason  to pay that extra and waste   two nights staying there need to do uh  at least two or three hours each night   yeah cuz otherwise basically it will  take a week M to Lane yeah light can it if we fell apart would you want me to [Music] stay

There’s a motor home parked here and it kind of  comes downhill coming this way so we didn’t want   to back up we had to put blocks on the back  wheels here and over here to get that tilted  

This way a little bit BR it’s a bit nippy out  there I yeah I can feel it Tallahassee we were   we actually started stopped here um this when  we went and got the uh van from California very  

First time the very first time yeah and brought  it all the way across to Florida we’ll probably   stick around here and work all day tomorrow and  then take off tomorrow night and get a little bit [Music] further we’re supposed to stay at  Henderson State Park uh on Wednesday night and  

Tonight is Monday night well we were going to stay  there Wednesday Thursday Friday for you know three   nights and spend a little time with our friends  that live there mark and Sue but we found out  

Recently that they’re going to be in the Florida  Keys can’t blame them wish we were there with them   so I called the reservation line for uh Henderson  State Park for the Florida state parks and there   is an opening tonight we’re exactly 2 2 hours  and 22 minutes away from Henderson State Park  

So we could check in tonight and then go ahead  and cancel our reservation that was originally   starting on Wednesday so again tonight’s Monday  the problem is same day reservations it’s a walk   up only but since we had a reservation already  they were able to modify it but we couldn’t do  

It over the reservation line we had to call the  Park directly because they close at uh just I   think 5 or 5:30 wasn’t it Michelle I think so they  were able to modify the reservation otherwise you  

Have to come in if it’s the day of you have to  come in before they close in order to get one   of the walkup sites we locked out there and so we  got our site we got our reservations for Wednesday  

Through the three nights all cancelled got a  refund back for that we’re going to do the one   night there tonight and let’s see it was $41  total $418 total we needed to do our showers   tonight we’re not going to do them in here we’re  trying to conserve water and we uh typically when  

We’re traveling we’ll stop at a truck stop or a  campground truck stops usually charge anywhere   between 14 to $17 for the both of us we get to  share the the shower room and they’re pretty good  

Size so tonight we’ll uh you can take that out of  that price cuz we’ll be able to use the showers   right there at the campground and we might as well  just flush our tanks and fill up the fresh water  

And to do that at a dump station like at a L’s you  know a TA whatever that’s typically around that   $10 Mark so you can take that out of the price  too so we’ll we don’t need to charge our batteries  

Our 2 hours and 22 minutes it’s going to charge  them to 100% way before we get there this [Music] [Music] evening just enough to make some  Suds and I’ll fill the rest up with hot water [Music] that is Hot if you wanted to you could rinse these  off with bottled water to save even more   water tonight we really don’t have to worry  about running out of water cuz we’re going to   be at the state park and we’re going to fill our  fresh tank right back up again um but when we’re  

Traveling long ways and we’re just going to be  you know boondocking at a Cracker Barrel just   just a place to pull over and go to sleep while  we’re traveling long distance um then we try to  

Conserve a little bit more um and uh when we  do need to get a uh you know the water dump   the tanks and we’ll usually do that at a truck  stop and then do our showers right then good old  

Van life good old van life we kind of take turns  with this stuff sometimes I’m making lunch and   uh doing dishes sometimes Michelle’s doing it  depends on which one of us is is freaking out   because we’re running out of time before the  end of the week is that right Michelle right  

Yeah but uh we’re a little squeegee down down  there too we always squeegee out our sink when   we’re done we usually don’t even have to ask we  can kind of hear the other one cursing about our  

Work so yeah that’s when one of us gets up and  and uh does our duty what hey Siri what’s the   low temperature tonight in Dustin Florida the  low temperature in Des Florida will be 57° F tonight you’re wondering why I’ve got my uh  code on while in the temperatures like last  

Night got down in the 30s it was chilly up here  that heat works really well back there the U the   timber line and it heats up here too but it’s  not as good as it is in the back it’s a little  

More chilly up here when those temperatures get  down that low the heat pump on the AC unit we   can use that if it’s over 40° we can use that  and it Heats this entire thing up Plenty or we  

Could start this engine up and turn the heat  on of course so you know the new Gretch RV the   2024 has the agree AC unit and that has the the  heat pump the older uh models didn’t have that  

So that that works well we’ve had times when  we come in here and you know the timber line   we could turn that on but we turn the heat  pump on when we want to get it warming here  

Really fast because the heat pump will warm  the whole thing up a lot quicker than that   Timberline wheel Timberline does a good good  job of I mean it’s kind of has to work up with  

That the glycol has to get warm and and then um  after a while it uh it heats up and it it stays   pretty toasty um but again it’s more towards  the back where it uh stays the warmest but uh  

It’s good to have something like this where you  have three different options like that you have   your Timber line you have your the heat pump  on the AC and then you have this [Music] here There the Culver right down the road about  6 minutes away man we used to eat at that   Culver all the time not that Culver not the  exact same one but a Culver starting room to   Culver we’re going to do that that way it’s  a little quicker proceed to the route then  

Turn left onto Callaway road we decided  not to eat in here here cuz I just did dishes oh we are funny that’s  what happens when you’re always   in a hurry okay start Merc Mercedes  start with okay key key the key this  

Thing is funny you got to have  it unlocked put on the [Music] brake that was a delay finicky oh boy all  right you ready a yes BLX okay I got the   box are you ready to go yeah we’re ready  to go R to what happened We R to go ready  

To go after I get my camera oh my gosh  how in the heck did that get wedged in there we need pie it’s not a Culver this is  not a Culver we saw a buffet had to make a   right turn Brian Buffet cortisio  what’s your name I wanted Culver  

You saw pie on the sign here that is  a total lie no that’s just not the   trth driving down the street he’s like  Buffet don’t listen to her doesn’t look bad did you find the pie it might be over here not bad at all when you say it was pretty  

Good 2653 for the both of  us before your [Music] tip Made it here to Henderson State Park last night  it was late um we had to stop at Whole Foods   and Walmart get a few things and by the time we  got here I forgot to get a shop coming into this  

Place but I thought I would just show you here  this morning so they put us in a pull through   spot instead of a back end and it’s actually  drive all the way through there was only two   spots available so we’re lucky we got in uh  probably partially due to the weather since  

It’s been uh cooler lately but we like this  place this is Henderson State Park again uh   in dtin Florida we stayed here I think it was  about a year ago and uh we really like this   uh there restroom facilities over there that’s  something else we did last night we went ahead  

And used their facilities there and uh yeah drive  through here it goes all the way through so I   don’t believe there’s no sewer hook up here but  they do have a dump station as you can see it’s  

A pull through all your sites are pretty much uh  secluded it’s kind of nice we like it here and   then over by the restroom area over there that’s  the area we showed last year that uh there’s a  

A trail and a little walkway that goes out to  the uh out to the gulf to the beach all right   so here’s a plan today that storm’s coming um but  I don’t believe it’s going to hit till tomorrow  

Uh some of the areas we’re driving through  is supposed to get about 10 in of rain yeah [Music] 10 [Music] always be careful when you  have these PVC pipes like this uh we were in  

Well we had the Airstream at the time and we  were in uh um where was it harling in Texas   and Michelle went out to try I think she was  trying to take this oh no put it on I believe  

Anyway the PVC busted finally found the shut  off down just a few sides and got it turned Off you may be wondering why Michelle hasn’t been on  camera yet this morning she doesn’t like to be on   camera when she’s getting ready in the morning  in order to keep the piece I respect [Music]

That now sometimes when you’re putting this hose  back in here every once in a while before it gets   all the way in it binds and that’s kind of hard  on that motor if it won’t quit doing that what  

I recommend is just pulling the whole thing out  start off to the side and don’t don’t hold it too   tight but put just a little bit of pressure on  the hose to make sure it goes tight and go back  

And forth maybe like 3 to 5 Seconds at a time left  to right and it should go in nice and smooth that Way We’re in the little parking area of Walmart here  and we just passed Walmart if you just keep going   over here to the left you’ll see a Dick Sporting  Goods a Dollar Tree and you go a around Dollar  

Tree to the back side and that’s where you will  see the launder mat and the hair salon [Music] on teamwork is what makes the dream workor got that new table that’s recessed into the  side of the countertop here underneath there’s two  

Latches there’s one here and there’s one here  this one is just to release this only but this   one is the actual lock and you can hear it  so all you have to do is hit this one first  

It unlocks it and then if you hit this one  it goes down the first couple times uh after   getting this I kept having to put things down  and thinking that I had to use both hands to  

Release both at the same time but you don’t all  you have to do is one hand click that left side   first closest to the door and then click the  other one and it’ll drop [Music] down [Music] drop this trash off over here at the  garbage Camp Siri says it’s 62 I’m  

Just going to say it this weather sucks  got just a little over 3 hours to drive tonight it was time to hit the road once  again if we wanted to stay on schedule we   have plans in Texas by the weekend  and we have an obstacle along the  

Way trying to avoid heavy rains  and flash flood [Music] warnings I’m a rolling stone Bound To Roll  come the morning or I’ll be [Music] gone pouring rain to hear that train  rain there she come W you get on [Music]
