2024年1月 マニラ市内各地を歩いています。今回は ボニファシオ・グローバルシティー、通称BGCの市域を撮っています。広大な元軍用地を比較的最近、（1995年と言われている）開発が始まったとされ、現在ではグローバルシティーとその名の通り多国籍企業や大規模商業施設、各国大使館などが集積してフィリピンの繁栄を象徴するような近未来都市の様相を見せています。街を歩いていて印象に残ったのは、BGCの道行く人々の年齢層が低い事でした。特に若い女性の数の多さが目に付き、中位年齢が26歳（我が国は48歳とされている）と言われるフィリピンの人口動態を実際に体感できる気がします。その繁栄がほぼ確実視される若いフィリピンですが、その先進都市BGCに住み、日々活動する道行く人たちの表情もどことなく明るい様に見受けられます。
