アクセス抜群!お手軽!初心者でも登れる筑波山へ登山に行ってきました。

Hello, on a sunny day just before the start of the rainy season, I went climbing Mt. Tsukuba in Ibaraki Prefecture. Thank you very much.

As a beginner in mountain climbing, I submitted my mountain climbing registration online just to be sure. Although Mt. Tsukuba is a low mountain with an altitude of 877 meters, it is not to be underestimated. The weather is fine, and the time is 6 o’clock in the morning. Other climbers were already there.

Let’s visit Tsukuba-san Shrine, which is right next to the parking lot. This is the main gate of Tsukubasan Shrine. Zuishinmon (Yamato Takeru no Mikoto) statue Toyoki Irhiko no Mikoto (Toyoki Irhiko no Mikoto) statue Kanji are difficult…Honestly, I don’t really understand the difference between the two.

The circumference of this large cedar tree is about 10 meters… It’s so thick. It’s been a long time since I’ve been here, but there’s such a high-tech information board… It’s close to Tokyo. Cable cars are an evil path for me today. You can also light a fire here.

It is impossible not to visit here. This is a monument to the poem “Kimigayo.” This is the shape of “Sazare Ishi”. It looks like small, fine stones are stuck together. Start climbing from the Mt. Nyotai trail on the right. Before that, let’s relieve ourselves. Apparently there are no restrooms along the way…

I could hear the cool sound of the waterfall. Follow the Shirakumobashi course shown on the signboard. Absorb negative ions here. What is this, is it actually a mailbox? Beyond the torii gate is a sacred area, a sacred place.

At the beginning of the climb, there are wooden and stone steps that are easy to climb, and the slope is gentle. After a while, the course will split into two. as you like. I’ll go left. My feet are gradually getting worse. It had rained the day before so it was muddy and slippery.

It’s a spot called “White Snake Benten”. It is said that a white snake lives here, and those who see it will make a fortune. There is also a large cedar tree here. Looks like it will be beneficial….

Of all the mountain trails on Mt. Tsukuba, the Shirakumobashi course has a considerable difference in elevation. We will continue climbing through the forest for a while. The slope became steeper, and the huge rocks were rolling around, making it feel like your feet were getting wet.

We have reached the halfway point. I want to take a break soon. . . My breath has increased. . . I’m not a suspicious person who is hahahaha. The difficulty level is higher than Mt. Takao, which I climbed before. It’s best to be prepared. Look ahead and be careful not to fall.

As you can see, my feet are fine. I want to take a break soon. Spring water is flowing down the mountain trail. When I see this kind of scenery, I want to go to that island. This is a resting spot called “Benkei Chaya Ruins.” It’s new, modern, and somehow stylish.

It appeared at a time when I wanted to take a break. 0.8 km left to the summit of Mt. Nyotai. Top value chocolate bar infused with sugar. After a short break, I resumed climbing. “Benkei Shichi Return” is a mysterious spot with strangely shaped rocks.

From this point onwards, the path continues to be steeper and rockier, so be careful of your step. A spot called Takamagahara. Passing through the mother’s womb (haha no taitai passing). Despite the naming, it was very narrow and I couldn’t get through. It is a huge rock called Inyouseki.

It is around 750 meters above sea level. The slope is clearly steep. It’s also slippery underfoot. It’s a good idea to climb up while holding on to the chain like this. It is a spot called Defunei Rifune. Some areas are paved like this. It’s a blessing for my wobbly legs.

Hokuto Rock. It seems to mean that it never moves, like the North Star towering in the sky. The summit of Mt. Nyotai is 0.2 km away. It is pronounced Azatokojinja. Let’s take a look. When I thought about it, I saw a sign that said “Byobuiwa”…and

I could see what looked like a shrine in the back. Oh, I didn’t know that. It gets that crowded. It’s a mountain climbing boom. The top of the mountain is right there! Let’s climb the stone steps and worship the top of Mt. Nyotai.

This is the peak of Mt. Tsukuba (Mt. Nyotai), one of Japan’s 100 Famous Mountains. 877 meters. The altitude is 877 meters, but it took less than 2 hours. I really want to climb it on a sunny day.

I heard that Mt. Tsukuba can be seen from Tokyo, so I thought I could see the Sky Tree area, but I couldn’t. You can see Mt. Tsukuba Ropeway Sanroku Station (Tsutsujigaoka Station). Some people were wearing light clothing, but they probably took the ropeway or cable car to the top of the mountain.

Eating and drinking other than taking a break or drinking water near the summit is prohibited. Let’s climb Mt. Nantai over there too. You can reach the top of Mt. Tsukuba by ropeway and cable car. Many people on the ropeway wear light clothing. The summit of Mt. Nantai is 0.9 km away.

Walking along the flat path to the summit… you’ll come across the famous Gama Stone. Does it look like a frog? Sekirei Chaya has not yet opened. I found a Sekirei stone signboard. Don’t scribble on the signboard! ! !

There’s an anchor in a place like this…the rust on the anchor shows how long it’s been. My vision has opened up. It is a spot called Miyukigahara, where there is a cable car summit station, shops, and an observation deck. I think I can take a break here.

After a break, I will aim for the summit of Mt. Nantai and descend to the base. It seems like a small burner can be used in this burner area. The kelp rice balls I made this morning are completely out of focus.

Eating rice balls at the top of a mountain is delicious for some reason! I’m pretty sure this is a salt rice ball. On the other hand, for some reason I want to eat soft serve ice cream. The milk is thick. Be sure to admire the view from the Koma Observation Deck.

It’s a little more inflationary than above ground. To get to this photogenic spot, climb the tasteful spiral staircase. Families were monopolizing the best spots, so I quietly admired the view from here.

Like Mt. Takao, you can easily get to the top of the mountain by cable car, so it’s no surprise that Mt. Tsukuba is also popular. I timidly descend the spiral staircase which is surprisingly steep and narrow. I like this Mt. Tsukuba logo.

There is only 0.3km left to reach the summit of Mt. Nantai, and the difference in elevation is approximately 70m. We arrived at the top of the mountain in no time. The summit of Mt. Nantai has iron bars like this.

This building is a joint weather observatory. It is said to be Japan’s first mountain observatory. At first, I thought of going to Yakuo-in Temple, which was displayed on the signboard, but I didn’t have strong legs, so I gave up. All eyes are on the small burner.

It seems that they were making cup ramen or instant ramen. The ramen you can eat here is also delicious. When descending the mountain, I took the Miyukigahara course, which I went down twice. My personal opinion is that descending a mountain puts more strain on your legs than climbing, so you should be careful.

I took this to heart during my descent this time. As always, there were some brave climbers climbing Mt. Tsukuba wearing sneakers. The nature was abundant and it was a nice change of pace. I was waiting for the cable car because some wires were moving, but it never came.

There were a few people from overseas (especially Asians) as well. With only half of the hike left, I started descending the mountain, being careful not to fall. Careful of my step, I was out of breath… eventually, I descended to the base of the cable car.

In fact, the hems of my pants are covered in mud. Tsukuba’s famous cattail oil was sold everywhere. I said goodbye to the mountain gate and walked over 20,000 steps. (Out of focus as usual) Thank you for watching.

昨年より登山を始めました。筑波山は東京からアクセスも良く、日帰り登山も十分に楽しめ、ロープウェイやケーブルカーでも気軽に山頂へ行けます。
