Sugamuta Coast 2 Oe, Amakusa Town, Amakusa City Description of Sugamuta Coast. Omangaike Pond is about 2km south of Oe Cathedral in Oe, Amakusa Town, Amakusa City. On the west side of the pond, there is a natural coast called the Sugamuta Coast.

This coast is one of my favorite spots and I have visited it many times. This is the third time I’ve introduced it, including the introduction of Kogase Rock Reef.

Although it has not been selected as one of the eight sunset views of Amakusa, the sunsets seen from the coast are so beautiful that the number of visits has increased.

Twice a year, for a few days during the spring and autumn equinoxes, the sun overlaps with Kogase and you can see the sun setting between the reefs. The scene looks like a large whale sticking its mouth out of the sea and swallowing the sun.

In addition, the coast itself is an untouched natural coast, with rugged rocky surfaces that are exposed. The sea is so clear that there is a handmade salt factory nearby. Today I’m visiting “Sugamuta Coast” in Oe, Amakusa Town, Amakusa City. It is a coast with outstanding transparency. Enjoy the untouched natural coast.
