超穴場！【韓国旅行】水原華城が素敵すぎた｜２時間モデルコース

There seem to be many variations in the transfer points when taking the subway and bus. I think it would be a good idea to put your place of stay in NaverMap and search for directions. This time, I will introduce how to get there from Hongdae Station where I am staying.
From Hongik University Station, I’m taking trains of Line 2, then Line 1 to get to Suwon Station, and I’ll take a bus to Suwon Hwaseong Fortress. A must-have item when riding the subway or bus is T-money card. T-money seems to be sold at 3000W at convenience stores.
It is necessary when boarding the general A’REX from the airport, and was sold at the airport for 4000W. There are T-money in various patterns, and at the airport, I found the LINE Friends pattern (5000W). It seems that there is also a K-pop star pattern. Arrived at Suwon Station!
There are two bus stops near Suwon Station that take you to Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, and there are 4-5 bus routes to Suwon Hwaseong Fortress. It seems that you can ride from Suwon Station Plaza and Maesan Market. The time required will not change significantly.
Maesan Market bus stop is about 5 minutes walk from Suwon Station. However, the route is a little short, so you’ll probably get there a little early! It takes about 5 minutes straight from Suwon Station exit 9. I arrived near Suwon Hwaseong Fortress.
I wanted to get off at a bus stop right near the castle, but I forgot to press the “get off” button and it wouldn’t stop 😅 Everyone, please be careful 😌 However, it’s just a walk for one bus stop, I can already see the palace gate in front!
There is a beautiful bell. That is Suwon Hwaseong Fortress! It still looks small though. I bought a ticket to enter the palace! You can buy it for W1500≒ $1 on the left side of the entrance. I’ll enter the palace from the gate of Shinfeng Tower! I returned to the gate where I entered.
The Suwon Hwaseong Fortress World Heritage Site mainly consists of the palace and the surrounding wall. Let’s go to the important gate! It takes over 2 hours to go around all the gates. You can buy Suwon Hwaseong Trolley tickets at the ticket office in the palace. This is a map of Suwon Hwaseong Fortress.
Paldalmun Gate is the gate seen from the bus. I just went to Hwaseong Palace. I’ll walk to the south for 15 minutes from the palace, And go to Janganmun Gate, And I will decide whether to go to Hwahongmun, which is by the river, or to Seojangtae, which is in the mountains.
First, I went to Hwahongmun Gate towards the river. I’m walking on the wall, I’m going to Janganmun, then walking on the wall to Hwaseomun, I’ll return to Seoul, and resume sightseeing in Seoul. The wall continues behind the North Water Gate, and there are plenty of things to see!
Since there are places I want to go back to Seoul, I’m spending a short time of 2 hours to see around Suwon. Suwon Hwaseong 2h tour completed! I’m going back to Seoul. I took trains when I came, and I’ll a bus when I return to Seoul.
There are various buses available between Seoul and Suwon, this time I’ll take the 7770 bus from the bus stop near Hwaseomun and go to Sadang Station in Seoul. I’m back in Seoul. Now I’m going to get on the subway at Sadan station. When I went to Suwon, I took trains.
The bus is about 1000W more expensive than the train, but on this bus, you can charge your devices, and the seats are soft and nice. Personally, I think the bus was better. However, if you are prone to getting car sick, I think it would be better to go by train.
