Hi, this is Mata-Tabi Channel we are coming to asakusa This channel introduces “Mata Tabi”, which means a trip to relax and want to visit again, such as hotels with room hot springs, view of the sea This time we will introduce Tokyu Harvest Club Kinugawa, where we stayed using the accommodation site.
Tokyu Harvest Club hotels also introduce other hotels on this channel. We plan to add more in the future, so please subscribe to the channel ♪ -To Kinugawa, Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture- SPACIA X Tobu Nikko/Sando food tour SL Taiju -Hotel introduction- Hotel Harvest Kinugawa CASIKA -Ka Kawagishi- (Renewed in March 2023)
We bought lunch at Tobu Railway Asakusa Station. We head to the ticket gate First, take Spacia X to Tobu Nikko Station. This is a limited express train with all reserved seats. Reservations can be made online starting at 9am one month in advance. The link is pasted in the summary section
We present the purchase completion email at the reception desk and head to Platform 5. The train came to the platform This is a limited express train that just debuted in July 2023. Standard seats are available for cars 3 to 5 out of 6 cars. The legroom is quite spacious
Luggage compartment, cup holder, electrical outlet You can use the table attached to the seat in front of you and the side table. We finally set out, and the weather was nice. Facing Nikko, we recommend a seat on the right side in the direction of travel.
Immediately after departure, we passed through the Sky Tree For breakfast, we ate the lunch box we bought at the station earlier. Speaking of Asakusa, Yoshikami’s famous cutlet sandwich, the sauce is very delicious♪ Grilled inari was fragrant and delicious! It had plums, yuzu, and wasabi on it.
Next, we will introduce other vehicles of Spacia X Car 2 has premium seats that can be folded down comfortably. We were able to ride this seat on the way home We will introduce it in another video (Kinugawa Keisui accommodation video) There is a suite room in the last car, No. 6.
There are also 4 private rooms in car 6. Car 1 has a cafe counter and lounge seats that will be introduced later. There is also a box seat with workday in mind. There was a luggage storage area at the boarding entrance that could be locked with an IC card.
Next is the Spacia X’ cafe. About 30 minutes after leaving Asakusa, there was an announcement about numbered tickets being distributed. Get it from the QR code on your seat Membership registration or linking with a Google account, etc. is required.
We were able to get it at the same time as the guidance started, but it was sold out within 5 minutes! At the designated time, go to the cafe counter in car 1 and select and purchase the product.
Payment is not in cash. Credit card or transportation IC only Please check from the link in the summary column. The beer has a refreshing citrus flavor and just the right amount of bitterness. Craft cola is spiced (It wasn’t our favorite taste.)
Harvest hotel often doesn’t have coffee in the rooms, so we buy a Nikko coffee drip bag. The sake lees butter sandwich is cold and crispy, and becomes creamy over time. We passed through Shimoimaichi, where we would come to ride the SL Taiju later.
Arrive at Tobu Nikko Station in about 1 hour and 50 minutes from Asakusa Station. We arrived at Tobu Nikko Station around 10:50am. At 13:30, we will take the SL from Shimo-Imaichi Station and sightsee around Nikko for a while. Speaking of Tobu Nikko, we thought we should go to Nikko Toshogu Shrine.
Since we didn’t seem to have enough time, we decided to walk around and eat some food on the approach to the shrine. The first store is in front of the station The shops in front of the station are lined with products using the local specialty, yuba.
To “Nikko Sakaeya” which is often covered in the media The piping hot fried yuba manju is sprinkled with salt just before serving. The salt brings out the sweetness of the red bean paste even more!
We’re happy to receive a free cup of tea. There were also some chairs prepared in front of the shop. We pass through the store and exit onto Nikko Kaido. We didn’t have time to go, but we’re also interested in Kashiwazaki Shoten, a Japanese pepper shop.
The second shop to eat while walking is about 15 minutes walk from the station. We went to Yuan, a Yuba gourmet shop. You can buy meatballs, tamagoyaki, croquettes, etc. using yuba The tamagoyaki is so thick! The soup stock was good and delicious.
We were also interested in the nearby “Miyamae Dango”, but they didn’t offer takeout so we gave up. Next is Shinkyo Bridge, which spans the Otani River. The vermilion-painted bridge over the Otani River is a structure of Futarasan Shrine, which enshrines Mt. Nantai as its object of worship.
It is one of the cultural properties that make up the World Heritage Site “Shrines and Temples of Nikko”. It is a place where you can see the wonderful scenery of autumn leaves in autumn.
The Nikko Bussan Shokai building, which was built as a souvenir shop for the Nikko Kanaya Hotel in the late Meiji period, was also wonderful. The last stop on our eating tour is an old folk house cafe in front of Shinkyo. We came to meguri coffee (from Shizen Saryo Kai)
This restaurant serves vegan food and home-roasted coffee. This cafe occupies a building built in the early Taisho era that used to be an antique art store gallery. Above all, the ceiling painting of flowers, birds, wind, and moon that remains from the Taisho era is a masterpiece! Home-roasted specialty coffee available
The fluffy milk latte was the most delicious latte we’ve had in the past few years. After the walk, we returned to Tobu Nikko Station. Spacia X is at the ticket gate and it’s cute
Return to Shimo-Imaichi on the Tobu Nikko Line Next time we want to take our time and go to Nikko Toshogu Shrine. It takes about 10 minutes at 2 stations, and we ride the train for a while. We returned to Shimo-Imaichi Station to board the SL Taiju.(Steam Locomotiv)
There are spots inside Shimo-Imaichi Station that you can see by purchasing a Tobu Railway ticket or admission ticket. There is an SL exhibition hall on the way across the hallway and down the stairs. The history of the steam locomotive operated by Tobu Railway until 1959.
You can learn about the steps taken to resume operation in August 2017 as part of the “SL Revival Operation Project” There is another place you should see at Shimo-Imaichi Station. The train arch is cute! There is a turntable outside to change direction.
Due to lack of time, we could not see it You can also refer to the time from the website And! SL Taiju has finally left for departure. Boil water using the heat from burning coal The vehicle is powered by the steam generated. The train connects with three passenger cars
Car 1 has seats that can rotate. The sound of the generator is loud This second car is recommended. Comes with an observation deck that you can freely enter and exit from. It connects with three passenger cars and comes to the platform. SL Taiju has come to the platform!
All cars have reserved seats. We boarded the second car that we had reserved online. Cute retro passenger car♪ The seats in Car 2 do not rotate, so if you have 3 or more people, we recommend purchasing a set of 1-2 rows, 3-4 rows, etc.
It will take about 30 minutes to reach Tobu World Square Station, the closest station to the hotel. We saw many people waving and taking pictures of the SL Taiju from the train windows. The staff introduced us to the scenery.
You can enjoy nice scenery such as Kinugawa Seats on the left side in the direction of travel may have a little more to see. The windowless observation deck is very popular! Anyone can enter We arrived at the station in about 30 minutes, it was a quick trip, but we had fun♪
Paste the link to the reservation site in the summary section. We headed to the hotel from Tobu World Square Station. 5 minutes walk from the station, arrive at Hotel Harvest Kinugawa Opened in 1992, this is one of the oldest hotels in Harvest.
The buffet restaurant has been renewed in March 2023. This time we used it and would like to introduce it to you. Tokyu Harvest Club VIALA Kinugawa Keisui, where we stayed the next day, opened in December 2022 and is located next to our hotel.
When you enter the front lobby, what you see beyond the large windows is The great nature of Kinugawa! The Kinugawa River flows below this. The 2nd floor you are currently on is the front lobby.
There was an object of three monkeys that says “I see no evil, I hear no evil, I speak no evil” There is a paid coffee machine and you can buy a cup at the shop. You can take out snacks and drinks at the shop.
We went through the check-in procedure at the front desk. There are 7 floors in total, and there are only 2 elevators, so it can get crowded depending on the time of day. Our room was on the 6th floor. Now let’s take a look at the room
The room we stayed in was a deluxe twin. The area is approximately 38㎡. We stayed in a non-smoking room All guest rooms will be non-smoking from January 2024. Although it opened in 1992, the rooms looked like they had been renovated and were clean. We will first introduce the area around the bed.
The twin bed was spacious enough Extension, alarm, and memo pad next to the bed There are two outlets, convenient for charging smartphones, etc. Next is the living area There are two sofas that can be used as beds. we spent a lot of time here
There is also an outlet next to the sofa, which is convenient. The table was large and easy to use. Next is around the desk. Information about the hotel and tissue paper are on the desk. There was a massage device called “Kubi monde”. Air purifier next to the desk Tv on desk
Luggage storage and towel rack next to the TV In addition, equipment rentals are also available. There is a full-length mirror near the entrance. Next is the minibar. Glasses, cups and tea on the top shelf Itoen green tea’s tea bags Kettle, ice bucket, etc. in the middle shelf
Tea sweets are “Kinu no Seiryu” (Japanese-style cookies) Also available at the store There was red bean paste inside and the cookie was crispy and delicious♪ The freezer and refrigerator are empty, but there are plenty of shops and vending machines. Next is the view of the room. The room had a terrace
The view is mainly either Kinugawa river view or city view. As for our room. . It was a city view! The railway line in front of us was unexpectedly nice. Tokyo Harvest Club is a membership resort hotel. Some rooms are open to non-members through travel sites, Tokyo Land shareholder benefits, corporate contracts, etc.
This time we used the accommodation site “Ikkyu” We think members have priority for rooms with a Kinugawa river view, but the city view was also good this time. We’re able to see SL Taiju from the window.
You can check the transit time of SL Taiju on the Tobu Railway website. (Timetables vary depending on the date) The date of pattern A looks like this Tobu World Square is the nearest station
We were able to see the view towards the Kinugawa River at Tokyu Harvest Club VIALA Kinugawa Keisui where we stayed the next day. Please also check out these videos. Next is the bath area. There is a big mirror One compact sink Cups, hand soap, etc. next to the sink
Like other Harvests, amenities are minimal Basic cosmetics etc. are available in the public bath. Leather, hairbrush, shower cap, toothbrush The hair dryer was Tescom’s naturam, and by the way, the public bath was KOIZUMI. Tissue paper, face towel You need to bring bath towels and hand towels to the public bath
The room also has a bathroom We didn’t use it, but it was spacious enough. Shampoos are POLA Private restrooms are equipped with washlets Next is the closet Hanger, shoe horn, brush The safe is also here Slippers for indoor use
Slippers are prohibited in the restaurant and lobby on the 2nd floor, but are allowed in the public bath on the 1st floor. Yukata, obi, haori for room wear Yukata are also prohibited in the lobby and restaurant, but are allowed in the public bath area. The design was based on dark red.
Next, we will introduce the facilities on the 1st floor. Game corner right after getting off the elevator If you go to the back, there is a large public bath. Usage hours are 15:00-24:00, 6:00-10:00 The area after bathing was quite spacious. There are many vending machines lined up here.
There was also ice cream to enjoy after the bath. Alcoholic beverages included Sapporo & Ebisu beer and Kirin low-malt beer, etc. The large public bath includes a natural hot spring, jacuzzi, lying bath, sitting bath, sauna, mist sauna, etc. It is the largest Kurzone in Hotel Harvest.
There is also an open-air bath. It was amazing to see the starry sky at night! The private hot spring “Shaka no Yu” is a simple alkaline hot spring. Shampoos are horse oil and POLA Amenities include whitening gel and hair treatment
There were face and hand soap, cotton swabs, hair brushes, heel cream, water dispenser, etc. We will also introduce other facilities in the public bath area. There is a heated pool that can be used all year round.
Swimwear rentals and sales are available at the shop on the 2nd floor, and swimming caps, which are required to be worn, are also available for sale. There is also a spa here There is also a footbath here, but unfortunately it was closed.
It was said that it was closed in the winter because the hot water quickly cooled down, and it was indeed very cold. Laundry next to vending machine corner Detergent can be purchased at the store Next is the store next to the 2nd floor front lobby. Business hours are from 8:00 to 21:00
We received a 1,000 yen gift certificate as an Ikkyu Diamond membership benefit, so we decided to use it. Tochigi specialty products are lined up. You can buy any amenities that are not in your room here. We bought the hotel’s original hot spring ingredients as a souvenir♪ Soft drinks and alcohol are also available.
As expected from Tochigi, they even sold Utsunomiya gyoza. There is a library next to the store. It can also be used for reading and work. There are also booths where you can concentrate on work. There were also a few books there. There were vending machines and gachapon next to the store.
There are also vending machine corners on the 3rd and 7th floors. There were also snacks and cup ramen here. It’s great for a late night snack♪ A microwave and disposable chopsticks are also provided. Alcohol such as beer and ice machines are also available.
We returned to our room. We’ll show you what we bought at the store. Beer made with yuzu from Utsunomiya has a subtle bitterness and is delicious! Cider is refreshing and good after a bath. “Kaki no tane”(Senbei) gyoza flavor had a hint of garlic and was delicious.
We spent a relaxing time watching the steam locomotive steaming through the sunset. We came to the restaurant “CASIKA” on the 2nd floor. This is a buffet dining room that was just renovated in March 2023. There is also a course restaurant available. Chicken and basil salad or quiche for appetizers Marinated salmon, ratatouille, etc.
Fresh vegetable salad There are plenty of dressings available Western food includes aqua pazza and pot-au-feu. Everything looks delicious♪ Fried foods such as smelt and shrimp, and beef rib sushi rolls There was tuna and salmon sushi. Red snow crab, seared bonito, soba noodles, etc.
We picked up a lot of things that caught our attention. Scallop escabeche and prosciutto melon Yuba, a specialty of Nikko. It’s nice to be able to taste local food. Next, we will introduce the live kitchen. The highlight is roast beef from Maeda Farm in Tochigi. Served with Japanese-style grated sauce. very delicious!
Kinugawa Onsen’s “geothermal” themed bamboo steamer corner Tochigi’s brand “Shimofuri Kogen Beef” is served as steamed shabu. Enjoy a refreshing and delicious taste with ponzu sauce Boiled dumplings were also served at the live kitchen. The beef tendon curry, which is different from Harvest in each region, is mildly spicy and easy to eat.
Other dishes include cooked rice and miso soup. We also ate soba noodles. Drinks include water, coffee and tea for free. Soft drinks and alcoholic beverages are available for a fee. It’s a good deal if you choose the all-you-can-drink option. For all-you-can-drink options, order at the counter. Next is dessert, here is the highlight.
“Seasonal freshly squeezed Mont Blanc” squeezed by the chef right in front of you! Place cream such as seasonal fruits on top of the sponge. The winter food we ate was chestnuts. The ice cream is rich and delicious with Tochigi’s specialty strawberry♪ Other fruits such as kiwi, orange, lychee, and pineapple
You can enjoy a variety of colorful sweets such as cakes and puddings. This restaurant can also be used by guests of the affiliated hotel “Kinugawa Keisui” next door. It was snowing when we left the restaurant after dinner. Beautiful hotel lit up in the snow
We went out to take a quick photo of the exterior at night, but it was extremely cold. . We warmed up in the public bath and fell asleep. The next morning we woke up around 6am. A thin layer of snow has fallen in the city. It’s so cold outside!
We had breakfast again at “CASIKA” Breakfast buffet was from 7am to 10am, last entry was at 9:30am. Vegetable and fruit juices “Amazake Soy Milk Latte” and “Kinako Amazake Soy Milk Latte” made with rice malt amazake from Seigen Miso, a long-established Utsunomiya store. Bread such as French toast was lined up.
There were many side dishes that went well with the rice. The mentaiko was spicy and especially delicious. Local menus such as Nikko Yuba boiled dishes were also available. Since we were cold, we were happy to have warm Niku jaga(meat and potatoes) and boiled tofu♪
We think both Western food lovers and Japanese food lovers will enjoy it. At the live kitchen, an omelet made from Nikko Kisuge chicken eggs was served. Shumai in the geothermal steam corner, and “Botan nabe-style sweet potato soup” in the large hot pot corner. Both were very delicious!
Coffee could be taken to our room After breakfast, relax in our room until check-out at 11am. We looked at the snowy scenery and went to the public bath. We took the shuttle bus at 11am and headed to Kinugawa Onsen Station for sightseeing.
We stayed at Tokyu Harvest Club VIALA Kinugawa Keisui that day. We’re able to send our luggage to the hotel in advance. We are planning to deliver it in the next video. Please take a look Hotel Harvest Kinugawa has a large public bath where you can enjoy hot springs and saunas.
It was a very comfortable hotel where you could enjoy a freshly renovated buffet. Thank you for watching If you find it helpful, please give it a high rating and subscribe to the channel
