Japan RV Show in Kyushu | Going to Japan Camper Show 2024

Hey everyone happy New Year 2023 is almost over today is New Year’s Eve and uh what I want to uh on this video right here it’s a video that I shot of an RV show that was held back in uh September in kushu um but it has taken me a while

To get to it and the long time subscriber Mr Chuckles thanks for hanging in there with me uh reminded me that he’s been looking forward to this video I announced before that I was going to an RV Show here I am but my apologies is that it’s a little bit long

But what I tried to do in this video it’s kind of capture stuff that people would be interested in watching and then also the prices so um you’re going to see in uh in each of the RVs uh where I was able to capture a price I had a an

Approximate cost what it a bilon dollars keep in mind that the exchange rate as of today is about1 41 Yen per dollar so if you are looking for RVs in Japan it kind of gives you an idea and then how much it will cost uh but also I want to

Announce that uh next well soon to be next month so February of uh 2nd through the 5th there’s a uh there’s RV show in in Chiba uh specifically in the makuhari Messi Messi exhibition Hall uh near Tokyo and is held uh from February 2nd through the 5th and I’ll provide the

Information the link in the description below and my wife and I are planning on going there over the weekend and uh just to kind of keep on looking at different RVs because eventually we do want to travel around Japan and we’re trying uh to gather as much information as we can

And then uh so if you do have anything in particular that you would like for me to cover please comment below and then I’ll take those notes with me and again that’ll be be held in in the in beginning of February so and it’ll probably take me a little bit to put

I’m looking forward to showing a whole bunch of uh cool little Japanese style RVs because we’re looking at uh possibly buying one in the near future or maybe next year or so I forgot a hat so it’s quite hot out here and I know that by

The time I’m done I going to be totally burnt and uh it’s outside so it’s going to be a little bit hot but we’ll do our best and uh so yeah part of this is that eventually we want to be able to uh travel around Japan and uh RV around so

Uh please stay tuned and uh uh let’s check out these cool RVs there’s a lot of uh RVs from uh the show but there’s also lot of RVs here in the background are just people that are rvers and they’re here to see RVs as well so yeah let’s check them out

Here it looks like you have a little camper you don’t see the campers very often here in Japan uh very very selom do you see a vehicle pulling the camper look like this one’s about 4.7 million yen see what it looks like inside little bunk beds here

It’s kind of like a old style right here see what this one looks like from the other side oh I see they have a uh portable uh little Air Conditional unit and this one right here and the little battery unit so this is the very first one that I

Started working looking at so I’m pretty sure there many many more to see but you have all kinds of different sizes from these little little micro van right here to uh the regular size Japanese size RVs tatami oh yeah oh yeah that’s right you can choose a tatami that’s pretty

Cool this section right here seems to be like the smaller cars again I just started this is the very first uh there’s the entrance here by those two ladies and uh so this is the uh the beginning and it looks like uh you kind of start

With uh smaller cars and then some Vans over in the background and the the little bit bigger RVs in the back but like for example this right here is just a little uh incam Honda it’s pretty cool as looking inside of it that one is around well 3,982

,000 but it’s pretty cool how it slides down little Table then they have the little uh portable AC unit and the battery bank so one of the things I want to do while I’m here is I haven’t decided if I’m going to do my own conversion or uh buy one but this will give me different ideas

You know how to uh if I do my own conversion you know the different uh options that you can do this one has a little popup what is this a dutu little sink microwave and it looks like it turns into bed right there it’s about 3.7 million

Well this one has lots of storage unit oh wow yeah lots of storage choco was just saying that she just looked at it so yeah for yeah for a nice price of 10 million but yeah that’s uh oh that’s a nice definitely nice yeah lots of room back

There I don’t see a this one does not have a toilet so that’s something here in Japan uh toilets is not necessarily an issue because uh you can uh uh you can you can you can stay at many places that uh you know have a toilet and showers and stuff like that

So a lot of people don’t necessarily worry about uh having showers okay so I see uh yeah so they actually have a bunch of used ones as well too right here so okay that’s pretty cool you get an idea so 4.9 so 4.95 million that’s probably around 35$

36,000 right now rough conversion with the current yen rate it’s a little definitely a little bit older unit but quite spacious up there bunk beds more beds over here not sure if that’s a bathroom over there older microwave but has the air condition well this one is used one right here so

It looks like they’re probably having combination of both of a used and uh but this one over here has some uh bunk beds in the back little dining little kitchen and uh okay I see the price over here on the front windshield this about 2.8

Million 1 2 3 4 five four dogs on the stroller look inside this one oh lots of people already looking inside because the shoes are outside see saying yeah okay so this is a 2023 so you know this year this year’s 2023 $8 million 8 million Yen 8 million yen let’s see nice Toyota all right so another another thing I thought about is doing a uh like a conversion like a van conversion so this is a high uh about 4.4 million used let’s go ahead and take a look inside this one these are pretty cool I

Guess the good thing about doing one of these I could still use it as a daily driver if I absolutely had to looks like it has plenty of seats then you can sleep over there in the back there little microwave unit little kitchen electricity little TV let look from the

Back uh folks I’m sorry but I I have a feeling this is going to be a rather long video and uh probably very little editing so my apologies I’m front I’m just going to go ahead and just take a bunch of kind of raw video and kind of

Give everyone idea and uh kind of the different options that you can uh have when you come travel to Japan wow this is a this is a pretty nice size van you can kind of like it you can lay down here you can sleep and then you can uh cook a little

Bit and then you know always stay at a own sand or or a m noi or a station and then take a shower and use a toilet there so this is definitely an option in Japan being a very safe country that’s uh very doable and also um from what I

Understand in Japan as long as it’s legally uh it’s legal to park you can stay there overnight life to the future I like that name let’s go ahead and check this one out real quick uh start from the bottom storage water interesting names let’s go ahead and

Take a look at it first real quick this a new 2023 of 8 million yen Toyota looks like there’s a big crowd in there so come back to it later these are always thought they’re pretty cool uh there’s a Fiat it’s kind of like the Sprinter type

And uh you see in the Estates quite a bit that’s I guarantee you this is quite pricey I have not seen the price but let’s go ahead and uh guesstimate that probably about 10 million probably I don’t know 2023 brand new wa that’s a cool looking van or RV I should

Say o that’s pretty cool got little refrigerator unit there little table look like it has a little side uh on in unit right there a table sit down and I have not found the price on this thing is it so expensive that they don’t put the price on

It over here you got another Toyota High active Vehicles oh that sucker is huge look at that let’s go take a look w a lots of lots of stores there on the Bottom bed over here I would definitely need a memory phone because uh yeah so we we’re staying here in kurum for two nights at a hotel you know typical business hotel and boy those beds are freaking uh hard Japanese love their hard beds uh so uh yeah I’ll definitely have to put a

Memory F on there that’s about 7.5 million it’s a brand new so but you got your table your little kitchen and place to sleep that doesn’t have an AC but this one over here has a AC like an external unit or something or what home un AC home unit

Ac so it’s a little bit hot so I tell Cho that’s all she cares about the oh okay there it is I didn’t see it see this right here is just a regular like a regular van Nissan van you can take it right away she says so

For see that’s why I need choco stick around here with me so she can translate for me right away so 4.6 million it has it a popup and well you can turn into a little bed right there but doesn’t doesn’t have air conditioning so nope she says that’s

Been ruled out let’s go check out this one right here that’s about 5 million I Got but this this is actually I kind of like this layout because you know how you can uh just make it one that’s humongous yeah inside did you see that no not yet but like I was saying you can turn this into a big bed right there and

Have to go uh but but uh sorry it’s like your grandma’s furniture with with the plastic uh on the on the couches if you’re from the States you probably know what I’m talking about folks uh again one of the things that actually this morning I was looking at my uh the

Analytics of my channel and then I was noticing there’s people from all over the world so people from the other places of the world if your uh grandparents did that let me know where they kept the plastic on for ages and ages and you just sat on that plastic

But but anyway so yeah this one you can turn it into a bed and everything still doable looks like folks actually traveled in this one and enjoyed it quite a bit and that’s uh 2.7 million now so this right here is a Toyota is this brand

New I know this is only one you can take it home with you you can take it home now but it’s not brand new right is it how do I know you keep pointing at the paper but I can’t I don’t see see yeah I I guess m about 3

Can put a toilet and he said yes so yeah it has a little toilet microwave um and back there a little refrigerator unit yeah good for two people $447,000 yeah so yeah $47,000 for about a 3-year-old with 31,000 km that one I was looking for the price

On it does not have a price on it nowhere that that Fiat Yeah this let see we got right here 33.7 million for to high AC has a AC now let’s go take a look inside so two wheel drive uh what year is this it’s got 34,000 km on it a little bit older much older yes uh folks uh

Japan yeah their their year systems is weird so I even have an app see choco over there’s trying to do that see she’s trying to figure out what year it [Laughter] is she’s still trying to figure out the year 8 years old 8 years old okay see uh 8 years old but

Theory about Japan is if it’s not complicated it’s not good enough 11 years old 11 years old for 4.3 million 4.3 million 76,000 km it’s actually pretty clean though doesn’t look like yeah yeah actually yeah I mean but this is just a oh that’s just memory

Foam but you can fit I mean one person can sleep comfortably right there and then the other person can sleep over there relaxing space this is a big van nice breeze nice breeze uh this is two 2.3 right 2.3 million no no no what what do you mean no 238,000 238,000 so that’s

23,000 are you sure about that price yeah okay so 2.3 million 2 yeah okay so 2.3 million I I know I knew I was not off yeah how about this little van right here this thau so the we uh we just bought a little K not too long ago uh it’s going

To take about 6 months it’s a little Delica K uh but this is kind of the size of it it’s little K dutu that’s pretty cool check out the different different options that you could do looks like there’s a YouTube video for it too yeah it is a k look

So uh yellow plate so yellow plate in Japan means it’s a k car so basically this is a size but yeah so this is something that you could do with a K car this little battery unit little Zink that’s pretty cool two 2.5 million it’s

To yeah this is a one person type of travel but you can spend the night that’s pretty cool if you just want to travel around in one of these you can literally go everywhere in the in Japan so that’s a pretty cool little different setup you could the kind of 4×4

Cool it’s not 3.4 million it’s a Noah Noah hybrid well it has a pop up all right yeah this would not be a very comfortable sleep for me here here we got a 3.8 m milon for this little uh what we have here uh not exactly sure what it is yet this

Is just as sleep oh but it goes down flat oh okay so you can have a little make it flat little table but yeah and it has little Outlets huh it’s easy oh yeah to people and E you know you can just turn around the seat yeah the the seats spin around

Over there this is actually not bad right because you could sleep uhuh too and then it has a little table conversion over there you can use as normal car yeah it’s a daily driver yeah yeah because that’s the seat over there I go in there in a minute and then you

Have Outlets you have some outlets and then it has a uh huh portable what oh a portable battery yeah yeah and then Tey fridge or something if you really want you can put kids yeah and it pops up yeah like she’s saying that you can put the kids over

There how much is this one C’s five srips four two and two I think yeah but for that price I’ll just buy an RV 4.5 but yeah I I mean but if you need a daily driver as well and then you want to go camping and everything so yeah as

Option you can you can choose the microwave portable refrigerator they have all those options they can put and the bike rack yeah those and then they you can screen the back and everything too so that’s pretty cool I mean you could do a lot with this one that’s why it’s called free

For solar does it have a solar little stores oh little storage for your remote for your TV this actually I like this quite a bit and this three 3 million 3 million oh yeah with this thing you can go anywhere choco so this is 5 million saying that this is nice and

Cold right here yeah because you have that big air conditioner unit right there but uh oh I’m pretty sure this slides out this way what is this this was a um what’s brand is this a Mazda well this is coming all the way from Hiroshima that’s the licensed plate for hiros

Bulky it’s taking up all that space all right here we have another Toyota High a 5.2 million this is a brand new one right so this is not bad so it has a little TV unit and over there you have little refrigerator power and like she was

Saying this all this right here turns into a bed and this could be a daily driver right here and then this is the the dimensions and two of us could sleep there just fine then you can do all kinds of other add a solar power and I’m pretty sure

Another $10,000 will take it out um huh well I keep looking at this one because it’s not not bad at all I’m not sure how all the storage here works but to put your shoes in there well you can put it you want yeah yeah all right let’s see little

Storage but how does that I’m just kind of curious how does that all convert oh okay yeah so the middle part right there turns like a table I think and then it flattens out I’m pretty sure that’s the way it works all right so let’s go look at this picture

You can go Califor yeah this has a slide out too slide out unit again so folks there’s none of these in Japan well obviously they are obviously because we’re looking at right but not very common but um yeah folks uh if you’re look watching from the states it’s like oh that’s a

Very small but in Japan this is a hug this a huge van and uh Ford it kind of limits you to what you can do and where you can go so the pros and cons you know with one of those little things like that you can go up these mountains

Really cool gorgeous places and camp or you go something like this and you can only build so this again only certain places you could do that’s that big uh what is it Class A type 29 million yeah yeah that’s that’s too much for Japan Moody yeah Moody here’s

A Japanese lesson Moody is uh impossible uh that’s pretty cool 2.9 Million that’s pretty cool for the kids and everything as you can tell the kids are enjoying it too let look at this this one right here I like these little conversions that they do with these little Suzukis huh

Huh see it has everything you need it has solar it has cooking has AC and cooking this has everything you need I like that little shade that’s pretty cool oh my goodness that’s just like so cool no no no it’s yeah then you can see through oh my God I’m really liking this

That engraving laser laser engraving the yeah it reminds me of back in the day folks I had a uh back in the States I had a laser engraving business and I used to make these kind of things all the time as like uh business cards and giveaway that’s cool huh so this one

Has kind of the same concept but lots of storage there lots of little Cool Storage your food little table little overhead storage oh this one has the little canopy as well huh nice and flat there a Suzuki as well here’s the Grandy is the company I think I really like

The battery for one night but you can plug in conent water you have could plug in the yeah so you can plug into to power right so outside power oh this has solar power too there’s a panel on the top right oh no but I like that that you can’t see

It sometimes you see this big old thing but W okay so this is the whole set so this is all included you got everything you need hi storage MH so you can put the stuff in the camping food or whatever drive in it yeah and then a nice little table okay

So okay let me okay let let me on camera okay on camera I am confessing to you that you are right yeah for the first time ever you are right with directions no every time I’m right no not every time but I kind of feel like we missed this little this little middle

Piece right here a little bit yeah we’re over there arguing like uh like an old couple about what we have seen or not seen have a nice nice wood and it’s more for a as for fishing pose nice paneling yeah so me when we’re talking to the

Um sales guy to the other company he’s saying that um this is the only color comes in and which is kind of interesting because choco say she like that color you know Toyota high oh looks oh okay it’s kind of hard to see but you this one has uh the solar

Panel uh air conditioner huh dumb it J say dumm it yeah this uh two huh yeah just yeah this this yeah no so folks yeah so I think uh think we’re we’re about to conclude this here soon but uh so these the typical bigger size of these that you see here in

Japan you see the average prices this one here on my left that’s uh 12 million that there is about 11 million eight let’s go look at the 12 million one I did not look in there and someone beat us to it uh this is brand new right

Yeah well let’s uh see if we could look at this one real quick I want to look inside these little close so this one right here about 11 they don’t have they do not have the air on here but there’s a nice size bed like a queen siiz bed the air conditioning

Unit so definitely good sleeping little sink nice sink refrigerator table on another big sleeping area right there so this one does not have a a toilet nor does it have the room for it some of them you can get there’s like a little closet and then you can uh turn

It into a a toilet so this one’s definitely more comfortable more room this a big size this like almost the size of a Kings siiz bed okay you got a microwave up in here let me peeking this one real quick okay you got table okay this one looks like it has a

Toilet it has a little closet for the toilet yeah so this here where you you could put a little portable toilet and uh you know maybe even a shower unit but it makes the sleeping space a little bit smaller but one person can sleep just fine here you have the air storage

I am an American (of Mexican descent) living and working in Japan. My wife of 32 (plus) years is from Japan. We bought a vacant or empty house “Akiya” in the countryside of Japan near Iwakuni, Yamaguchi Prefecture for $35,000 (5 million Yen as of August 2022). The property consists of a 2-story house built in 1975, small guest house, large 2 car garage, storage building, and 3/4 acres of land with many fruit trees.

As very common when purchasing an Akiya in Japan, the personal belongings of the previous owner were still in the house. It took multiple trips to the local recycle center to dispose of all the property.

The grounds were overgrown with many weeds and vines. This will take a while to get under control, but it is looking much better around the property, and I think the neighbors are happy to see us cleaning up.

This traditional Japanese house also features a gorgeous Japanese Garden in much need of cleaning up and bringing it back to its glory. I am still working on the garden, but it already looks stunning under a beautiful maple tree and huge decorative stones.

We performed an extensive renovation in the entire house. We focused on keeping traditional Japanese features such as the engawa, shoji doors, ranma, shikkui, tatami room, but incorporated modern features making a very comfortable house for years to come. Walls, ceilings, floors were insulated. New modern kitchen, toilets and bathroom units were installed. We installed a wood burning cast iron stove (Quadra-Fire, Explorer II).
