【USJおすすめプラン】任天堂オタク専用!大阪観光案内【ユニバ攻略】
Hi! I’m げん(Gen), a Nintendo-loving housewife born and raised in Osaka, Japan! This video is a USJ travel plan for those who love Nintendo games, with a top priority on having a good time. In conclusion, the plan is as follows: “First, explore Kyoto for 1 night,
Then stay in downtown Osaka for 2 nights, then stay at an inn affiliated with USJ for 3 nights and 4 days, and Dormy Inn is recommended for the 2nd night in Osaka. Recommended ways to spend time at the park will also be introduced with video clips. Let’s take a closer look!
First, Kyoto Station. If you are a Nintendo lover, you are in for a sightseeing tour of Kyoto, Kyoto Tower (which overlooks the city of Kyoto, the model for the size of BotW/TotK) Nintendo Headquarters building (from a distance so as not to disturb the office)
Fushimi Inari Shrine (Fox McCloud in STARFOX is modeled after the fox enshrined here) Nintendo KYOTO official store (Kyoto Takashimaya S.C.) , Stay at Marufukuro, a renovated hotel in the building where Nintendo was founded. Next morning, head to Nintendo Museum in Uji city.
There are plenty of detailed videos and articles on sightseeing in Kyoto, so I won’t say too much, but I will mention one point. The main store of Tsuruya Yoshinobu, the maker of Kirby’s Monaka is located in Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto City.
Kirby’s handmade Monaka itself can be purchased online at any time, so please enjoy the fresh sweets while viewing the Japanese garden at the main store! I recommend the “Nama Tsubara,” which is available only at Tsubara Cafe. The creamy sweet filling on a soft dough is a bliss.
If you have time the second day in Uji, visit not only the Nintendo Museum but also the nearby Byodoin Phoenix Hall. This building is engraved on the Japanese 10-yen coin. Take the JR train to Tennoji in Osaka City. Kirby Cafe PETIT in Tennoji MIO, very cute.
Recently, we don’t have to make a reservation to shop there! Buy some cakes at Kirby Cafe petit and checked in to Dormy Inn. There are six Dormy Inns in central Osaka. The Pokémon Center is located in two Daimaru Department Stores, Umeda and Shinsaibashi.
I have not collected statistics, but my firsthand feeling as a local resident is that Shinsaibashi is definitely more vacant. And only Shinsaibashi has a Pokemon Cafe. The most convenient place to go there is an inn in central Osaka. Dormy Inn.
People in Osaka call the Nippombashi, Namba, Dotonbori, and Shinsaibashi areas collectively “Minami”. Enjoy eating and walking in this “Minami area”. In the center of Osaka City, you can enjoy two major Osaka specialties, uncle Rikuro’s soufflé cheesecake and 551’s pork buns.
They are delicious, so please try them. These are also available at Shin-Osaka Station and major department stores, namely Daimaru in Umeda and Shinsaibashi, where the Pokémon Center is located. However, if you can afford time, please visit the main store and have a leisurely meal.
The checkout line at 551 for pork buns is so popular that there is never a shortage of people waiting in line. However, the restaurant on the second floor is a good place to go as it is often empty. The freshly prepared dishes are exceptional!
The steam makes it hard to focus my camera! This is a pork bun. The filling, kneaded from ground pork and onions, is juicy. The recipe is not disclosed, but the dough is probably a blend of wheat and rice flours.
Uncle Rikuro’s main store also has a line out the door for a place to buy freshly baked cheesecake. However, if it is pre-made and cooled, you can buy it without waiting. If you don’t eat it right away, it is a good idea to buy a cooled cheesecake.
The store sells disposable utensil kits, which can be purchased with the cake. If you take these back to the inn, you will be able to eat them with your Kirby’s petit cake.
The cheesecake tastes great cold, but if you have access to a microwave, you may want to warm it up just a bit. But be careful not to warm it up too much or the soufflé will shrivel up and spoil.
If you really want a freshly baked cheesecake. Go to the inside of the store for a numbered ticket; enter the café on the second floor. It will take a while to wait, but you can stroll around the area until your turn comes.
The cafe serves the ultimate freshly baked soufflé cheesecake along with classic coffee or tea! The lightness of this cheesecake can be likened to air. It is quality air with calories. Dormy Inn includes a hot spring and mini ramen service. This is why I recommend there for your trip.
This area is within walking distance of Dotonbori with its unique signs, Nihonbashi where western Japan’s anime fans and geeks gather, and Namba grand kagetsu, the largest comedy theater in Japan. There is also a Japanese-style castle, Osaka-Jo , located just a short Metro ride away.
Day 3. Have breakfast at the inn or check out and head to the Pokemon Café. Advance reservations are required to enter the Pokemon Café. However, reservations are not required if you only want to purchase goods. The Pokemon Center is on the same floor. Enjoy shopping!
In the afternoon, we will go to Osaka’s aquarium, Kaiyukan. Two whale sharks swim in a large tank that runs through the building! Enjoy the exhibit of Pacific Rim-themed animals. I recommend Kaiyukan aquarium to Nintendo lovers for two reasons. First, many of the fish featured in ACNH are on display.
Second, if you have a Nintendo DS series, you can download the audio commentary, (but it is only available in Japanese…sorry) The time required to visit this aquarium is about 2 hours.
There is a Ferris wheel just across the street. If you ride it, you can enjoy a panoramic view of USJ from the sky. On this day, it was raining and did not show well, but on a clear day, you can clearly see the Nintendo area.
This area is a short distance from USJ, but it is a big detour by train. Shuttle boats sail from behind the Kaiyukan, so that is an option. The official USJ hotels rent out a Switch dock, cable, and adapter.
So long as you have the console, you can play using the TV in your guest room. Last day. Finally, we go to USJ! This video is in the fall of 2023. Mario is the main character! First, brunch. Have a Mario & Luigi Pancake Sandwich,
Which we can purchase before entering the Nintendo area. Just across the street, there is also a store selling Pokemon snacks. I recommend splitting up and waiting in line. In the morning, enjoy the parade and meet and greet. NO LIMIT! Parade. The Mario and Pokemon floats are at the tail end.
Therefore, you should wait in the latter part of the area where you will be able to dance freely. Enter the Nintendo area. To enter, we must make prior arrangements through a smartphone app or at a ticket kiosk in the park.
Please research well in advance. The URL of the official website is included in the description section. Ride around the area on Yoshi’s back. Shop at a store that operates like a factory. And a VR ride on Mario Kart. After having a good time, eat at Kinopio Cafe off peak time.
Taking into account the Donkey Kong area that will open in the spring, I think we would have to pay an additional fee in advance for priority entry to the rides to have enough time to enjoy the rides. It is very popular and the wait is long.
Kinopio Cafe also seems to issue numbered tickets depending on the situation. The selection of souvenirs varies depending on the sales area. I recommend looking around every corner! Finally, take the JR train to Osaka Station (=Umeda area). Check NintendoOSAKA at Daimaru Umeda and the Pokemon Center on the
Same floor to make sure you did not forget anything. As mentioned before, the Pokemon Center is more crowded than Shinsaibashi. JR again, out to Shin-Osaka, and take the Shinkansen back home. If flying, Osaka Airport can be reached in approximately the same order.
If you use Kansai International Airport, you can go to Minami area first, then to Uji City, Kyoto City, and finally to USJ in that order. Have a nice trip! Bon voyage!
