“레트로 관광 마을” 모지코와 메카리 전망대 가기 【일본 기타큐슈】
Hello. how are you? End the remaining year of 2023 happily, and have a happier year in 2024. 😍 This time I went to Kitakyushu, Japan. I also toured the Kokura and Mojiko areas, and also visited Shimonoseki. To be precise, I went to Kitakyushu City in Fukuoka Prefecture and Shimonoseki City in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
Leave your luggage at the Nishitetsu Inn Kokura Hotel and head straight to Mojiko. The reason I chose Nishitetsu Inn Kokura Hotel was because it has a large public bath. The place you can see is Kokura Station. You can see the tram moving between stations at the end of the video.
It takes 15 minutes from Kokura Station to Mojiko Station. I came to Mojiko, the city of retro, a symbol of retro. Please note that there is a Starbucks located within Mojiko’s charm station, with a retro atmosphere and even a cute clock from the station . Mojiko Station
I woke up early in the morning and ran non-stop to Mojiko, but I was hungry. Let’s go eat Mojiko’s specialty, yaki curry. There were customers waiting even before Princess Phi Phi opened. It was a little difficult because of the strong sea breeze.
Thanks to the friendly staff, I received a detailed explanation of the menu and placed my order. You can feel the banana scent in the banana beer beer cream. I like bananas, so I ate it because it was unique and delicious. Pollack roe yaki curry comes filled with salty pollack roe.
I recommend the beef yaki curry over the fried puffer fish and beef yaki curry . There was something special about the yaki curry, but I just like the curry. The ice cream served for dessert is also delicious. Now, let’s go on a trip to Mojiko in earnest. Be careful of the wind ⚠️
The Mojiko Blue Wing Moji drawbridge is quiet and great for a leisurely walk, so the bridge goes up at the right time. There are many pretty buildings with a lot of retro sensibility. It felt so good to cross the bridge. I guess it’s because I saw the pretty architecture and the blue sea.
Mojiko ❤️ As I was passing by, I noticed something: sweet potatoes were being sold in a vending machine. Of course, Japan has the best vending machines. I entered the old Moji Customs. A space with a clear view of the sea and an unusual structure caught my eye. Former Moji Customs
Kitakyushu City Dalian Friendship Memorial Museum Mojiko where everything is beautiful Now we head to Mekari Observatory. When I came to Mojiko, I only looked around the center and went straight to Shimonoseki. But I thought Mojiko was so beautiful that I invested a day there.
So, I’m going to head to Mekari Observatory, which not many people go to. There are many beautiful streets that look like something out of an animation. It felt like my world and it was nice to focus on Mojiko. 🥰 Kanmon Bridge
It’s a bit out of breath, but you can climb to the observatory without difficulty. We finally arrived at the observatory. The view of Mojiko from above is truly beautiful. The Kanmon Bridge overlooking the clear sky and sea is truly beautiful. If you have time, I recommend Mekari Observatory.
Across the sea is the Shimonoseki area. You can also see the center of Mojiko well. That tall building is the Mojiko Retro Observatory. From Mekari Observatory, go to Kanmonkaikyo Mekari. Trees, flowers, and cats welcome you on the winding downhill road. It was amazing to see Korea’s largest octopus slide
And a huge cargo ship right in front of me. Now it’s time to leave Mojiko. It took about 6 hours to reach the observatory like this. I think this is the charm of Mojiko: the pretty architecture combined with the retro sea and the quiet but not lonely village atmosphere . 😍
Now I’m going to go to Kokura Station to have dinner, drink coffee, and relax a bit. Departure to Kokura Station When you arrive at Kokura Station, you can see Cheol and Maetel from Galaxy Express 999. The unique interior of Ikinari Steak Kokura branch was fascinating. I ate next to my partner.
This is a steak restaurant famous for its good value for money. I ordered Angus shoulder loin steak and tenderloin steak. Soothe your tired body with beer and highballs. Angus Shoulder Loin Steak Tenderloin Steak Since a lot of oil is fried, an apron is essential and is the best food to restore stamina!
If you just want to eat steak, I recommend Ikinari Steak. Now we head to Ogaibashi Bridge. The sight of the sunset behind Kokura Castle touches my heart. Ogaibashi Bridge River Walk Kitakyushu Komeda Coffee Dessert is a must after a meal! Komeda Coffee is a cafe loved by locals and visited by many tourists.
It is popular because bread comes with your drink order in the morning. I enjoyed the dessert so much that I decided to come back for bread the next morning. Now, after a quick walk, we will return to the hotel. Kokura Castle seen at night is also very attractive.
I bought a sandwich to eat at the hotel at Kokura Castle Garden and Kokura Castle Fruit Factory. There is a pretty tree decorated inside River Walk Kitakyushu. Kokura Station at night is also beautiful. This is the end of day 1 of our Kitakyushu trip. As always, thank you for watching.
