35+ things to do in Kyushu, Japan!

Kyushu is Japan’s third largest island, located southwest of the main island Honshu and is made up of seven prefectures: Fukuoka, Saga, Nagasaki, Oita, Kumamoto, Miyazaki and Kagoshima.

It’s also one of my favourite regions in Japan and such an underrated and undiscovered region.

Here are some of my recommendations for first-time visitors! It’s best to stay 2-3 days in each prefecture so you can take your time to explore!

I’ve included everything from nature spots, activities/experiences, Japanese food, to things to do at night in the list!

I had so much fun filming and exploring Kyushu – it really had everything I wanted all in one region!
Hot springs for when you want to relax, nature for when you want to escape the city, activities for all ages, and also delicious fresh food!
Hope you can check out some of these places the next time you visit Kyushu as well!

  6. This honestly had so many ads I couldn't keep watching. They were so often it was constantly interrupted and considering we got the same ad all the time, I think we saw more insurance ads than Kyushu.

  7. Glad you're back making these travel vlogs!
I was supposed to visit Tokyo in 2020 but had to postpone due to Covid. So here's to hoping 2022 provides an opportunity.

  11. I recognise that island (Hashima) from Skyfall.

  12. Thankyou so much, this is a fabulous intro to Kyushu and by far the best I've seen on YT. I am so excited now! We really hope we are allowed to come in September for our second Japan trip. Our first we spent time on Shikoku, which I loved, especially the many islands of the Seto Inland Sea. Nagasaki looks like a really pretty little city and I'm really looking forward to exploring it and hopefully doing some hiking nearby.

  13. I’m in love with your beautiful country ! ^.^ thanks for sharing these wonderful adventures with us <3 can’t wait to visit one day!

  14. thoroughly enjoyed that …. thanks and glad to see you're back

  15. I would love to visit Kyushu, but I don't know when I can go. I've been to Japan before. In the 1990s, I taught English at a church in Tokyo.

  16. "They bombed Hiroshima", "They bombed Nagasaki" – Why did "they" not bomb Fukuoka? Cause the Chinese Hanbo Ham's
[88"s] were already there. Afterwards, post August 6th & 9th, the Hanbo Ham's" opened up "Chinatown", on top ashes orders.

  17. Thanks for making this video. Its make me would like to go to kyushu again!

  18. This was amazing overview. I'm gonna do all of this in a few months!

  19. Visited Kyushu in 2014… heading back in Jan! Beautiful place. Enjoyed the sand bath 😂
