Matsue in Shimane Japan is beautiful, off the beaten path but worth the visit. Perhaps less travelled by the normal tourist; Matsue Shimane is another gem. This quiet city has so much to offer. Not only is it picturesque but it has a castle with what might be one of my favourite surrounding areas with shrines, temples, gardens lined with traditional japanese houses you will love strolling and taking photos.
I used the lakeside bus one day pass to get around and it was easy and affordable. This guide will help you plan your trip before you go!
ive only recently learnt that the video game Root Letter is based in this city too!

going to matsue in a couple of weeks for 2 nights . .looks like an interesting place .. great video .. only thing i dont like about the vid is the pop music . its annoying haha but hey thats just me
Interesting and informative as always. This to me is what Japan is like , the close-up magic was amazing . It's very sad that Rina is leaving Japan by the end of the year to join Matthew in Australia. I know it's a sad time for her, but I hope its a new start for them both and hope successful . Nice vlog as always
Awesome video, good job! I am playing a video game set in Matsue (Root Letter). Agree that the pop music doesn't fit.
Thank you, I am hoping to go to Japan, namely Matsue, Lafcadio Hearns writing on his sojourn there has been a great influence on my love of Japanese history did you visit his former home there..

Love the train ! Has limited space for luggage, where were the other passengers? Totally my experience in using trains in the not so frequented destinations that there are so few people on board
