Torigasakienchi (Shinjiko Fureai Park) in Tamayu Town is located on a small hill that protrudes into Lake Shinji. You can see Mt. Takayama and Mt. Wakura in the east, and Mt. Kitayama in the north. You can also see one.
At the water’s edge on the opposite bank, there is a cliff with an exposed rock surface called “16 bald baldness”, and it has been selected as one of the eight views of Lake Shinji as a beautiful waterside landscape that should be preserved for posterity. From autumn to spring, many waterfowl can be seen, and it is a place of relaxation where you can come in contact with the beautiful natural landscape.
玉湯町にある鳥ヶ崎園地 （宍道湖ふれあいパーク） は、 宍道湖へせり出した小高い丘の上にあります。 東に嵩山や和久羅山、 北に北山山系を一望でき、 また 『出雲国風土記』 に神の降る山、 神の宿る山として登場する四つの神名火山かんなびやまのうち、 朝日山・大船山の二つを見ることもできます。
対岸の水際には 『十六禿はげ』 と呼ばれる岩肌が露出した絶壁があり、 後世に残すべき美しい水辺の風景として宍道湖水辺八景の一つに選定されています。 秋から春にかけては多くの水鳥が見られ、 美しい自然景観に接することのできる憩いの場となっています。
