@salcincotta’s journey to becoming a #CanonExplorerOfLight: “This is one of the most influential and memorable images of my career. As a working professional for 15 years, I’ve made a lot of images, but this one really stands out to me. It was part of a Profoto campaign for their new light at the time.
This is a very iconic location in Chinatown, NYC and I was given free rein to create. We had tons of people on set, over 40+ if I recall correctly, and tons of street traffic just watching me work. I had never felt that kind of pressure to perform. At first, I was completely overwhelmed by the moment, but I had to block it out and just perform!
There is so much going on in this shot, we have the smoke, the dragon corp in the background, and the couple perfectly dancing in the middle of all this action. This shot will always have special meaning to me. There is not only depth to the image, but knowing what was going on outside of the frame really brings some fond memories of my career.”
