A Japanese graphic designer who was the driving force behind the City Pop art style that dominated Japan in the 80s. His unique renditions of summer landscapes were inspired by scenery that left a mark on him during his stay in the US, and it is these that brought him to prominence. His sharply rendered, tropically themed drawings have also had a huge influence on fashion and music, with many gracing magazines, ads, and record jackets.
