The high risk to elderly people has been particularly scary and painful for all of us I think, so I was moved by the chance to photograph this uplifting story of an elderly couple who had made it through and was going on their afternoon walk in Brooklyn Heights. I’m not sure I’ve ever met such kind, youthful, light-hearted people. Just setting up the shoot on the phone with Linda we ended up chatting for half an hour and she had me laughing the whole time. On the promenade where they walk, they were posing for a portrait, and they asked if they could kiss. I obviously told them to go for it.”
