Photo by #CanonExplorerOfLight @stephenjohnsonphoto from his Life Form Series | “This photograph was a particular challenge as I composed it without being able to fully preview the final look. The nearest part of the plant reached so far forward that I could not tell exactly what the final photograph would look like with everything in reasonable focus. I was quite pleased with the results.

This photograph is an eight image focus stack to achieve a good depth of field from front to back. Each photograph was hand-focused after a careful rehearsal of the focus range and distances needed for the set. The exposed set was focus-stacked as rendered 16 bit tiffs in Helicon Focus software.” Camera: #Canon EOS 5DS R
