I’ve always said ‘the more you learn technically, the more you can achieve creatively.’ As photographers, we tend to think we can just survive off our creativity alone. But I’ve found that the more you read those manuals and learn all the intricate stuff, you can pull off intricate imagery. My ideas always come to life after I learn a little more about my camera or my lights. This image has a little shutter drag, combined with a texture I projected on the wall behind her. All effects were achieved in camera, even the light flares. I did some light RAW processing and tweaked the white balance and added contrast and then we did some light skin retouching. I can’t recommend enough that photographers throw all the rules out the window and just allow themselves to play and explore new ideas. You never know where they may lead you.” Camera: #Canon EOS 5DS
